Chapter 286 - Chapter 286: Harry Potter Watches the Pain Assault

The ninja world, Konoha.

The village that had once been prosperous and peaceful had already been half reduced to rubble, and now screams and blood were everywhere.

Sakura Haruno hid behind a broken wall, staring anxiously at the self-proclaimed god rampaging through Konoha. She prayed that Harry would arrive soon and help Konoha deal with this madman.

Not long ago, without the slightest warning, an earth-shaking explosion had erupted from the edge of the village.

In an instant, fire shot into the sky. Thick smoke rolled upward with shattered stone and debris, as if it meant to tear a hole through the overcast heavens.

The being called Pain had descended on Konoha without warning, slaughtering everyone nearby in the most brutal and indiscriminate way possible.

The first thing that came into sight was the grotesque mechanical body of the Asura Path. Several cannon barrels instantly emerged from his shoulders. Fire flashed, and one shell after another screamed outward, trailing scorching flames like meteors as they smashed into the surrounding buildings.

Wherever they passed, houses collapsed with a crash. Bricks and stones scattered in every direction, and the dust they raised surged like a tide, swallowing the streets in an instant. Amid the terrified cries of the villagers, a once-bustling avenue was reduced to ruins in the blink of an eye.

Next came the Animal Path, whose destructive power was the most astonishing. Right at the beginning, he summoned one gigantic beast after another.

Those summoned beasts only had to twist their bodies, and everything in their path was ruthlessly crushed. Shops along the street, trees, and walls were all ground to powder beneath their rampage.

The village's ninja were brave, drawing their weapons and charging at the monsters without hesitation, but against enemies this powerful, their resistance looked painfully thin. Aside from a few jonin who had the strength to fight back, the rest could only watch helplessly as the enormous summoned beasts wreaked havoc everywhere.

Beyond them was the Preta Path, capable of absorbing all ninjutsu. He could open his mouth wide and swallow the energy of ninjutsu like a whale taking in water. Whether it was the blazing flames of Fire Style or the violent currents of Lightning Style, none of it had any effect on him and was easily neutralized.

If that had been all, then with Konoha's strength, there still might have been hope of victory. But just when the battle seemed to be turning around, the other Pains suddenly withdrew for some unknown reason, leaving only the Deva Path Pain behind in Konoha.

Then the most terrifying thing happened.

Deva Path Pain slowly rose high above Konoha, looking down at the ninja village below as if he were gazing at a swarm of insignificant ants.

"Feel pain. Contemplate pain. Accept pain. Know pain. Those who do not know pain will never understand true peace..."

Deva Path Pain's voice was low and cold, as if it had come from the depths of hell. It carried endless resentment and resolve as it echoed over all of Konoha.

Every word struck the hearts of the people below like a heavy hammer, sending a chill through them.

As those freezing words fell, Deva Path Pain slowly raised both hands, palms turned upward, and the chakra around him began to surge wildly.

"Super Almighty Push!"

Deva Path Pain spat out the words. His voice was not loud, but it rang in everyone's ears like a thunderclap.

In that instant, a repulsive force powerful enough to destroy heaven and earth erupted from him as the center.

A blinding white halo expanded outward, carrying unstoppable power like a raging tsunami as it swept down toward Konoha below.

The earth of Konoha trembled violently beneath that force, as if it had been struck by a magnitude ten earthquake.

The solid Hokage Rock, the symbol of Konoha's glory and legacy, instantly split with spiderweb-like cracks under the impact of the Super Almighty Push. Then, with a deafening rumble, the carved faces of the previous Hokage collapsed and shattered one after another, turning into countless fragments of stone that rained down below.

Across the streets, houses shook violently under the repulsive force, then were uprooted and flung into the sky. Their bricks, stones, and timber collided in midair with crackling bursts of noise before being ground to dust by the terrifying power. Dust and debris filled the air, shrouding the entire village in chaos.

The villagers and ninja who had no time to dodge were like fragile sheets of paper before that overwhelming force. They were easily swept into the air, then slammed back down, their fates unknown.

Even Konoha's river was not spared.

Under the influence of the Super Almighty Push, the river rose into waves dozens of meters high, only to be scattered by the powerful repulsive force into countless splashes that burst through the air like a torrential downpour. The mud, sand, and stones at the bottom of the river were churned up as well, swept into the storm of destruction along with everything else.

When it was finally over, Sakura stood amid the ruins and stared at the apocalyptic scene before her, her eyes wide with disbelief and rage.

Her hands clenched tightly into fists. Her nails dug deep into her palms, drawing thin lines of blood, but she did not even notice.

"No!"

She let out a desperate roar, but her voice seemed so small amid the thunder of destruction.

As a ninja of Konoha, protecting the village was her duty. Yet at this moment, faced with Deva Path Pain's world-shattering Super Almighty Push, she felt an unbearable sense of powerlessness.

Kakashi lay in the ruins, his body covered in wounds and his clothes dyed red with blood.

The teacher she had once respected so deeply was already dead. He would never again show that familiar smile.

Sakura clenched her fists. She knew that this battle was an unprecedented crisis for Konoha, but they seemed to have no strength left to turn it around.

The power of the Super Almighty Push continued to ravage the village. Under the assault of that force, Konoha gradually became unrecognizable. The once lively and prosperous ninja village had now been reduced to a field of ruins, with broken walls, shattered stones, and scattered debris everywhere. The smoke and dust in the air were so thick that it was almost impossible to see anything around them.

And Deva Path Pain still hovered high in the sky, coldly watching everything below. There was not the slightest trace of mercy in his eyes. It was as if, to him, all of this was the punishment the world deserved, and only by making the world feel such pain could he achieve the peace he believed in.

Among everyone present, Tsunade Senju, the Fifth Hokage, was also devastated, but as Hokage, she could not show even a trace of weakness right now.

Tsunade urged Sakura anxiously from the side.

"Sakura, are you sure you really have support from another world? Can he really defeat Deva Path Pain?"

"Yes. He really exists."

"Then why hasn't he come yet? If he doesn't arrive soon, there may be no point in coming at all!"

If Deva Path Pain used another Super Almighty Push, the whole of Konoha would probably be completely destroyed, and the surviving ninja would be killed by the terrifying shock wave.

Just as Tsunade decided to take action herself, even if it meant sacrificing her life to stop Deva Path Pain, she suddenly noticed that Sakura's entire presence had undergone a tremendous change.

The original Sakura was a young ninja with a decisive personality and a relatively gentle, inexperienced air. But now the bloody aura of a ninja around her had vanished completely, and her expression had become languid yet filled with overwhelming dignity.

As Hokage, Tsunade naturally knew that this kind of authority could only be cultivated by someone who had spent a long time in a high position. So, unless she was mistaken, the will now controlling Sakura's body was no longer Sakura's own, but the will of that mysterious existence.

However, that alone was not enough for Tsunade to be certain. What truly convinced her that the person currently controlling Sakura's body was not Sakura herself was the sense of danger Sakura now gave her. It was increasing at a terrifying rate, almost geometrically, until Tsunade felt that if Sakura so much as made a small move, she could kill her completely.

How was that possible?

Sakura was her disciple. Tsunade was one of the people in the world who understood Sakura best, so of course she knew that although Sakura's current strength was at the level of an elite jonin, she was nowhere near Kage-level.

The only possibility for Sakura's strength to increase so dramatically was the consciousness descent incident she had once mentioned.

That powerful being named Harry Potter had descended into Sakura's body once again.

Compared with Sakura, Tsunade was not familiar with Harry, but Konoha had already reached the most critical moment. As Hokage, she naturally placed the greater situation above everything else, so she bowed respectfully and said, "Hello, Sorcerer Supreme. Please act quickly and help Konoha."

After Harry descended, he had only just recovered his senses when he saw Tsunade bowing to him. Without changing his expression, he immediately shifted his gaze away out of basic courtesy, then looked over the ruined Konoha and the Deva Path Pain floating above it.

After observing for a moment and understanding the current situation, Harry realized he could solve Konoha's predicament very easily, so he said confidently, "Don't worry, Hokage. I'll end this battle quickly and restore Konoha."

Then Harry slowly stepped forward, heading toward Deva Path Pain.

At that moment, inside Harry's mind, Sakura asked in confusion, "Harry, aren't you able to physically travel between different worlds now? Why did you still descend into my body? Could it be... you like me?"

Although Harry knew Sakura was joking, his face still darkened. He explained, "Right now, I've only split off a portion of my consciousness. My main body is still handling important matters in my world, so I couldn't make it in person."

"Oh, so that's it... wait!" Sakura said worriedly. "Can this portion of your consciousness defeat Deva Path Pain? Don't underestimate him. He's really strong!"

"Guaranteed. Don't worry." Harry reassured Sakura and told her to relax. Forget the power he had descended into Sakura with now, even one tenth of this portion of power would be enough for him to dominate this world.

Harry continued leaping across the ruins, rapidly approaching Deva Path Pain. He planned to directly destroy Deva Path Pain with one disintegration beam, then find the real body controlling this puppet, kill him too, and hurry home.

But just as Harry was about to reach Deva Path Pain, a figure suddenly appeared and confronted Pain.

Inside Harry's mind, Sakura said in stunned surprise, "Naruto? Why is he here? Right, he's back from training!"

"Interesting!" Harry sensed that Naruto's current state was very special. The chakra in his body was divided into three parts, and it also contained a certain kind of natural energy, making it stronger than ordinary chakra, which was formed from life force and spiritual energy.

"Why did you stop?" Sakura asked, puzzled.

"No need to rush. Naruto has appeared, and I feel he may be able to defeat Pain."

"Wait, can Naruto really do it?" Although Sakura knew Naruto had returned after completing his training at Mount Myoboku, she still did not think Naruto could defeat a Pain that terrifying.

After all, Naruto's image as the dead last had been rooted in her heart for far too long.

Harry grinned. "Maybe. Sakura, you should have more faith in Naruto. Right now, he may very well be the strongest person in Konoha."

Sakura was stunned.

Soon, Naruto and the Six Paths of Pain began fighting ahead of them. When Sakura saw Naruto easily defeat the Asura Path with a single punch, she exclaimed, "Oh my God, Naruto really has gotten so strong!"

Harry did not comment. A battle of this level, or rather, every battle in this world, was nothing more than children playing house to him.

On the battlefield, the battle between Naruto and Pain was extremely fierce.

At the very beginning, Naruto directly summoned several toads from Mount Myoboku, including the two sages, Fukasaku and Shima.

Every one of them had tremendous combat power, and they easily defeated the many summoned beasts called forth by the Animal Path.

Among them, the three giant toads made the greatest contribution.

After seeing Naruto and the others defeat all the summoned beasts, the nearby Konoha ninja all cheered, venting the pressure and fear in their hearts, as well as their hope for victory.

But at that moment, a voice drew everyone's attention.

"Tsk, tsk. These three toads may be a little ugly, but they're still very strong. Their strength is basically no different from a basilisk's."

Although the voice had been deliberately lowered, it still caught the attention of Naruto, Pain, and the others closest to it.

The three toads, in particular, raised their front claws in anger.

"Hey, what does a little girl like you know? We're the most handsome toads on Mount Myoboku!"

"Oh, so that's how it is. Then Mount Myoboku is beyond saving," Harry complained again.

The toads immediately saw red. If this had not been a battlefield, they would definitely have taught this little girl a lesson.

Naruto also noticed Harry watching from nearby. Although he felt Sakura seemed a little strange right now, he did not think too much about it. He simply advised Harry to move farther away so she would not get caught in the battle, then threw himself fully into his fight with Pain.

Pain ignored Harry even more completely. In his eyes, a little girl like this could not possibly affect the outcome of the battle.

Meanwhile, inside Harry's mind, the veins on Sakura's forehead bulged into a tic-tac-toe shape as she roared in dissatisfaction.

"Harry, what are you saying at a time like this? Ugh, I'm definitely going to be hated now."

Harry shook his head. "Don't worry. You won't be. Their ugliness seems to be caused by an error in the way they cultivate natural energy. Just now, I created an entirely new way to circulate natural energy. As long as I teach it to them, they won't even have time to thank you enough."

Ahead of them, the battle continued. Naruto used his new ninjutsu, the Rasen Shuriken, temporarily gaining the upper hand.

But just as everyone thought Naruto was about to rely on the Rasen Shuriken to win, Pain's eyes suddenly sharpened, and he slowly said, "Spicy, sweet, salty!"
