Xiao Mei woke up early. Dismissing the house staff with a mission to clean the garden, she took over the kitchen to prepare breakfast for Liang.
She cracked an egg against the rim of a frying pan, but instead of landing inside, it slipped and splattered all over the floor. Reaching for the toast, she forgot the egg yolk underneath her feet, slipped, and hit her head sharply on the open drawer. A bag of flour sitting on the drawer fell, coating her face entirely. She looked like a messy, flour-covered ghost.
Liang came downstairs, ready for work, expecting breakfast. He ordered the maids to bring it.
Xiao Mei emerged from the kitchen, proudly holding the tray. The tray held a blackened egg, burnt toast, and a cup of dark coffee. She gave Liang a fake, flirtatious look. "Hubby, I woke up so early just to make you breakfast!"
Liang looked up from his phone, staring in disbelief at her flour-dusted face and the burnt food. "Are you sure you made me breakfast? It looks like you tried to poison me," he said flatly.
Xiao Mei pouted. "Of course not, Hubby! Try it, it's delicious!"
To appease her and avoid a scene, Liang forced himself to take a bite of the burnt toast and barely swallowed it. He quickly chased it down with the coffee, but immediately spat it out. He had accidentally confused the salt for sugar.
"Xiao Mei! Are you trying to kill me?!" Liang roared, wiping his mouth.
"No, my dear, it's not like that," she insisted.
Liang sighed, rubbing his temples. "Xiao Mei, please, just stay out of the kitchen from now on." He immediately left for work.

Shortly after he left, Li Wei, the sister, entered the house, smiling smugly. "Sister, all your efforts are useless. Brother Liang loves me; I am the only one in his heart," she declared.
Xiao Mei's anger flared. "Little sister, are you hungry? Sit down and have some breakfast," Xiao Mei said, smiling sweetly.
Li Wei refused, but Xiao Mei forced her into a chair and forcibly fed her the burnt egg. When Li Wei started coughing, Xiao Mei quickly pushed the salt-laced coffee cup to her mouth. "Oh, little sister, what's wrong? Eat more, it will give you strength!" Xiao Mei said, sounding genuinely concerned.
Li Wei finally managed to escape and rushed straight to Liang's company. "Brother Liang, my sister forced me to eat! I barely escaped her hands! You must bring justice for me!"
"Don't worry, Li Wei. I will make sure she apologizes. Come home with me," Liang said, furious.
When they arrived, they found Xiao Mei happily playing cards with the maids. The maids quickly stood up.
"Xiao Mei, apologize to Li Wei," Liang demanded.
"My dear, why should I apologize? I didn't do anything to apologize for," Xiao Mei replied innocently.
"Apologize, or we will divorce," Liang threatened, trying to scare her.
Xiao Mei faked a loud, dramatic sob. "Okay, I apologize, little sister, I apologize," she cried.
Watching her dramatic 'apology,' the Love Rating above Liang's head jumped to 50%.
Li Wei, satisfied, said, "Okay, I forgive you."
