Chapter 236 - Fate

Far away from Heimdall's surprise at the awakening of Thor's son...

And far away from Asgard altogether...

Out in the middle of the ocean...

High in the sky, where Odin was soaring upon his winged steed...

Odin finally stopped laughing, and his calm, stern expression returned.

He then looked at the unconscious dragon he had captured, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

Odin was preparing to return to Asgard.

He had already finished measuring Asgard's strength against the other races after successfully capturing this dragon.

But...

Just before he left...

He suddenly stopped.

He sensed something strange in the atmosphere.

It was a faint feeling, yet more than enough for him to realize that an immense danger was approaching.

He quickly looked around.

Then he immediately commanded his winged steed to leave the area.

The very moment he gave the order...

A gigantic, terrifying mouth burst open from the heart of the ocean.

It was as large as an entire mountain, resembling the jaws of a colossal serpent, and lunged toward the spot where Odin had been standing only moments earlier at tremendous speed.

But...

It missed its target.

The enormous jaws swallowed nothing but air.

Odin, his winged steed, and the captive dragon had already moved hundreds of meters away before the attack reached them.

Silence filled the air for a few moments.

Then...

Two enormous eyes opened beneath the ocean's surface.

They stared directly at Odin.

At that moment...

Odin heard the voice of a woman, filled with mockery and ridicule.

She spoke calmly,

"Oh... You managed to escape, little mouse. It seems you have good instincts."

Odin frowned deeply upon hearing her words.

Then he said in a cold, deadly voice,

"Come out of the depths of the ocean at once... before I erase this entire region from existence."

The moment he finished speaking...

A terrifying bolt of lightning descended from the heavens.

It tore through the clouds.

Then it struck the gigantic serpent-like mouth directly.

In a single instant...

The massive jaws vanished completely, erased from existence by the lightning.

Silence followed.

The mocking voice disappeared for a brief moment.

Then...

A woman emerged from the depths of the ocean—someone Odin knew very well.

He had seen her many times while observing the world through his ravens.

It was...

Medusa, the Ruler of the Demons.

Medusa looked at the man clad in majestic armor, seated atop his winged steed.

When she heard him speak her name...

She expected him to fear her.

Or at least hesitate to attack after learning who she was.

But...

The moment Odin's eyes fell upon her...

He swiftly raised his spear.

Without saying a single word...

He hurled it at her with all his might.

Medusa's eyes widened in shock.

Her expression darkened with anger.

She quickly raised her hand and caught the spear before it could reach her.

But...

The spear slipped through her grasp and pierced the side of her arm with tremendous force.

The instant it happened...

Medusa's expression changed completely.

She shouted furiously,

"How dare you attack me?! Do you not know that I am the Ruler of the Demons... Medusa?!"

Odin looked at her with cold amusement.

Then he said,

"You made one mistake..."

He paused for a moment.

Then smiled mockingly and continued,

"And that was showing yourself before me... and trying to attack me this way, you little snake."

Rage erupted within Medusa.

The waters around her trembled from the intensity of her fury.

She quickly grabbed the spear embedded in her arm.

Then yanked it out by force.

The moment the spear left her arm...

The wound healed instantly, as though it had never existed.

She glared at Odin with blazing eyes.

Then declared,

"I'll show you now... what happens when you attack me, you bastard!"

The very next moment...

She hurled the spear back at Odin with all her strength.

The spear ripped through the air at tremendous speed, appearing like a beam of light.

But...

Odin did not move an inch.

He remained seated calmly upon his winged steed.

Then he slowly raised his hand.

The spear came to a gentle stop right in front of him.

He caught it effortlessly, as though he were picking up a small branch.

Then he turned his gaze back to Medusa.

A mocking smile appeared on his face as he said,

"Show me... what exactly you're capable of, little snake."
