Chapter 2 - Let Us Follow Our Own Path

When he appeared, he found himself in an unfamiliar yet somewhat familiar place. A small, empty room.

The strange thing was the blood on the floor — blood he remembered belonging to the original owner of this body when he committed suicide. How long had it been? More than 650 years. But judging by the scene, only about four hours had passed here.

Two portals appeared, revealing two children and a young couple. As soon as they arrived, both kids ran and hugged Danilo with tears streaming down their faces. He looked at the children he had not seen for centuries. A strange emotion burned in his chest.

After all the drama with his family — after the original owner cut all ties with them — he thought he would never have anything to do with them again. After all, they were the fruit of betrayal, children born from humiliation.

Only after the Celestial Domain descended, and thanks to his talent, did he discover the truth: the two of them were his flesh and blood. The other man's son… was actually his. He was relieved beyond words.

These past years in the Kingdom of Azeroth, during the initial mission, he often regretted not leaving descendants behind. While everyone else who began the mission with him built massive clans, he concerned himself only with governing. Simply governing.

Now, after seeing the children, he felt relief wash over him. He had descendants. He truly had descendants.

Even though the blood on the ground showed that the suicide and his reincarnation happened just moments ago, in his mind centuries had already passed. The blind rage and crushing humiliation he once felt toward the family had long vanished.

Ties with the rest of them would remain severed — but with these children, he would dominate the heavens.

"Calm down, children. Everything is fine," he said gently to the two clinging to him.

Hearing his calm voice, Kiala — the girl of the twins — only cried harder and hugged him tighter.

"Don't leave me, Papa. Please, don't leave me," she sobbed.

"I'm sorry for everything," Pancho said. "I'm sorry for everything," he repeated, his voice choking. "You're my father. You'll always be my father. I don't care what anyone says. Just don't leave us."

His voice trembled as he spoke.

"It's all right. I won't leave you," he said softly.

"Liar," Kiala said through tears. "You just committed suicide… When we arrived, you were on the floor with all that blood, practically dead…"

She couldn't finish the sentence and burst into tears again.

He held his children tightly.

"I'm sorry, kids. It won't happen again. I'm sorry you had to see… I'm sorry you witnessed something so traumatic."

He felt horrible for what they had seen. Even though he wasn't their original father, he had occupied this body for centuries. Not an hour — centuries within the mission. Long ago, he stopped being the Danilo from the Other World. These were his children.

"I have good news for you," he said, trying to soften the atmosphere. "I found out that I actually am your biological father."

The room fell silent. The children loosened their grip and stared at him in disbelief. Anxo was obviously much taller, and Kiala…

"Please tell me this isn't a joke," said Kiala, the elder twin.

"Is that really true?" Pancho asked.

"Yes. My talent allows me to detect my direct descendants. And both of you show up. Look."

He showed them his talent stats.

After seeing their father's talent and the confirmation that they — and only they — appeared in the descendants window, the twins relaxed. Then, overwhelmed with joy, they hugged their father again and cried — this time in happiness.

After a while, they calmed down. Danilo then decided to address the elephant in the room.

"First, I'm sorry for what you witnessed. Seeing your father's body after a suicide attempt must be incredibly cruel. Forgive me. Did you call anyone?" he asked them. They had already wiped their tears, though traces still stained their faces.

"I called Mom and Grandma. They should be on their way, but with this thing that just appeared, I doubt they'll arrive anytime soon."

"I also called Miguel and the others. They said they were coming," Pancho added.

"Now that the celestial domain has arrived, a new era has begun. Everything will change. You know that," he said. "After everything that's happened, I won't have any connection with the rest of your family anymore — except for the two of you."

The twins nodded.

"Now I'm giving you the choice. Will you stay with me, or with the rest of the family?"

The twins stared at each other for a while. Then they looked at him and answered in unison:

"We prefer to stay with you."

"Don't answer without thinking. Staying with me means cutting ties with them. Maybe not completely, but you'll have almost no interaction with them."

This time, they fell silent, weighing the consequences.

After a moment, Pancho spoke:

"Dad, we've decided to stay with you. After everything that happened, after everything that family did to you… we've decided to walk away from them and follow you. It hurts to part ways, but it's the right thing to do."

His sister nodded firmly in agreement.

"Alright then," he said. "Since you've made your choice, we'll follow our own path. First, we'll clean the house. And then we go there—"

He pointed to the window, where an imposing tower rose in the middle of the city street.
