Chapter 6 - Chapter six

Lucien's POV

I couldn't understand why finding one she-wolf was a herculean task for my guards.

I got offended and wanted to find her myself, but was called for an urgent meeting and missing it wasn't an option because it was an opportunity I'd long waited for.

As soon as the meeting was over, I got involved in some pack activities which needed my urgent attention.

And by the time I was done with the major tasks, Derrick, my brother linked me. I was surprised when he reported they only had a clue of where she could be.

I snapped. This was the easiest task and yet it's two days with just a clue about her whereabouts? Was she really that smart to outrun my best men? I scoffed unbelievably.

I left my office, heading to the texted location. It was the Greek highway. At the boundary between Crystal Blue and Greystone Pack.

Few pack members had reported they came across some weird she wolf outside their houses.

Dr Ywelda also reported a break-in in the hospital laundry and her jeans and sweaters were stolen.

It happened the same night the she-wolf escaped. Her patient gown was found at a garage in one of the pack members' house.

As much as I was amazed at what little she-wolf pulled off. I was pissed. She was on the run and it bothered me. All attempts to get my mind away from her proved futile. I wanted to know a lot of things about her.

Memories of how we found her in the woods flooded my mind. I couldn't help but wonder what happened to her back there.

I had hoped that when she woke up we would be able to get answers from her, but now she was on the run. It was obvious she was running from something. Or someone. And I think I was one of those she was running from.

Curiosity itched into me as I wanted answers to the questions brewing in my heart. And only she can get me these answers.

Her final trail was at Simon's garage. Not knowing where else she could have gone. I suspected she might be heading out of my packgrounds. I ordered my men to shut down every route leading outside the pack.

I ordered my men to search every passing car thoroughly. I moved from one stop to another making sure my men didn't miss any cars.

Somehow Lucy managed to know she wasn't in any of the cars at the bus stops I'd visited.

As soon as I got to the Greenville highway a blue mercedes 350 came into view.

My attention was directed at Derrick, my brother, who was reporting a pack matter to me, and while we both discussed it. Lucy linked me.

"She's here." Lucy said.

I turned abruptly, looking closely at each passing car and my eyes caught a Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4matic.

"She's in the car." Lucy said, and my eyes narrowed at the car.

"Stop the Mercedes-Benz 4matic." I ordered my men through the mindlink. My eyes were fixed on the car.

"We've searched the car, Lucian. She isn't there." Kelvin, my Gamma tried to dissuade me.

Lucy growled. "STOP. THE. DAMN. CAR." I ordered, my aura slipping off, and without hesitation they stopped the car.

"Come on, let's go." I said to Derrick, who had been staring at me confused.

"Kelvin has searched that car already." Derrick said, I ignored him, walking towards the vehicle. He could stay if he wanted.

I felt Lucy pushing forward within me. My senses heightened, each step I took closer to the car, her scent was stronger, confirming she was inside the car.

I signalled Kelvin to tell the driver to step down from his car and when he did, I realized it was Simon, my pack member, who is also a known businessman.

His story was a strange one. A werewolf with human parents.

"Alpha Lucian," Simon called, baring his head to me. His face showed no emotion.

"Simon, who do you have in your car?" I asked him, and noticed the confusion that crossed his face.

"Just my wife and kids." He answered plainly.

"We want to search your car again. Just to be sure." I told him, and he nodded, his confusion deepened.

"I'm fine with it." He said, and my men went ahead with the search, while I stood watching.

Few men had surrounded the car in case she tried to run off. I wondered how a shewolf as small as her could be so relentless.

"No one Alpha," Kelvin said, giving me the I-told-you-look.

"But she's in there." I said, standing my ground.

They looked at me. Confusion written all over their faces as I walked closer to the car. Simon was busy telling me all he had planned for the day in an attempt that he would never hide a wanted werewolf around his family.

As much as I wanted to believe him. Two things were involved: he was either ignorant about her presence in his car or he hid her willingly himself.

I paid less attention to his rantings. My focus was only on his car. He might be honest, but the she wolf was hiding in his car.

I've known Simon for years. His wife worked as a chef in the packhouse years ago. His eyes revealed he was telling the truth. But I needed to find the relentless she wolf.

She was in the car. I could feel her. Her scent surrounded the vehicle. It made me wonder if she knew what she was doing. She was causing trouble for Simon.

"I want everyone out of the car." I ordered.

Other cars rushed past us and suddenly her scent disappeared. I stopped in my tracks. Wondering what had happened.

The couple and their daughters stepped out, and there was no one else in the car. Her scent had disappeared which meant she might have managed to sneak out in time.

"She's in the car." Lucy said.

"Are you sure she's in this car?" I linked Lucy.

"Yes. She is." He confirmed.

I wondered why the little she wolf was being so stubborn. Did she realize the height of what she was doing?

At that moment, I knew I had to pull her out. And I could do that by letting her know her actions could ruin the life of Simon and his family. It worked. She crawled out of wherever she was hiding in the car.

I finally got a look of the little she wolf that had troubled my men. She was a living mess. She reeked of blood and sweat. The bandage that held her hand in place had loosened and were bloody.

I could see Dr Ywelda's jeans and t-shirt on her. They were bigger than her. Torn and dirty with blood stains, making it obvious that her wounds were busted.

Simon and his wife gasped in disbelief and shock. I could smell their fear. They knew the consequences of hiding a wanted werewolf in my pack.

My men were about to apprehend him when the little she wolf tried to bargain for his freedom.

I scoffed. She was in no position to make any bargain. Yet something about her interested me.

I had no intention of punishing Simon. It wasn't his fault the little shewolf chose his car to hide.

I allowed them to leave, and linked Kelvin, my Gamma, to put her into his car while Derrick and I walked to my car.

Just when I climbed into my car, there was a commotion and the next thing I saw was the she wolf running into the woods as Kelvin bent over screaming in pain.

Shit!
