Chapter 7 - Chapter seven

Lucien's POV

"Get the girl!" Kelvin screamed.

Other guards dived into the woods, going after the racing shewolf.

I could still sight little she wolf even though she had run far into the woods.

She was slow. Weak. Tired. You could easily tell from how she ran. But that wasn't a guarantee that my men would get her.

She had planned to run into the woods if things got worse. A prediction and it worked. I smiled in my heart.

This shewolf was sneaky. She was abe to hide from me for two days, and almost succeeded in leaving my packgrounds. She was one hell of a shewolf.

Though she was weak and naive, there was something interesting about her, and she might be able to escape my men.

"We should get our mate." Lucy linked me, and I cringed at the word mate. That word wasn't for me.

As much as I was interested in her. Accepting the mate bond was never my intention. As a matter of fact, I hated the idea of a mate and mate bond. They never end well for Alphas.

"No. I would let you get her yourself. She's your mate, afterall." I linked back to Lucy, and he growled.

"Fine. Do it." He said, pushing forward as I stepped down the car.

I let my walls down, allowing Lucy to take over as I transformed into a dark furred beast on fours. I roared. My roars echoing in the woods.

I heard whimperings. I turned to see my pack members. My aura had circulated in the environment. They were visibly shaking. Most scurried into their cars rushing out of the spot. My aura always had that effect.

Looking back into the woods, little shewolf was no longer on sight. I dashed into the woods. Her lingering scent in the air led me to her.

As I had thought. She had hidden and was no more in sight. But her scent lingered in the air. I knew she was around.

I could already see the confusion and fear in the faces of my men. They feared what I would do to them for losing a mere shewolf the second time.

I paid less attention to them. Focusing on the she wolf's scent. Trying to find where it was stronger.

There were caves and holes. She would definitely be in one. Just then Derrick ran in, in his wolf form. Black large wolf. Fang. That's his wolf's name.

"She's hiding." I linked him, and watched as he studied the environment.

"Yeah. Definitely checking the holes. There are a lot." Derrick linked.

My men and Derrick had started checking the holes when another wave of her scent blocked my nostrils. It was stronger, and came from the opposite direction. Something struck me.

What if this was a diversion? She might have figured out that someone could smell her. She might have known that one of us was her mate. And since I'll follow after her scent, she might have hid her dress in one of the holes and ran ahead.

Each second we searched for her would give her more time to run further and by the time we would realize she would have gone far.

I cringed. Taking back my words. This shewolf wasn't naive.

I followed the stronger smell, moving to the opposite direction, running as fast as I could.

"Where are you going?" Derrick linked me.

'Going after my mate.' Lucy played in my head, but I shook it off, giving Derrick a better response. "Going after the little shewolf." I linked back.

"Isn't she here?" Derrick asked again.

"I don't think so. She might be heading out the pack ground."

"What? How did you know?"

"U-uhm. That's it. I don't really know. Don't tell the others. This she wolf is sneaky." I told Derrick, not wanting to say she was my mate.

Knowing who Derrick was, it would be easier to reject her if he doesn't know she was my mate. Because Derrick wouldn't be able to keep it to himself.

In no time, he would rat it out to mom and dad, who will in turn tell it to my annoying aunts and disturbing uncles. And they wouldn't let me reject her without a fight.

They'd long waited for me to choose a second mate and I refused.

Now, fate did it for me. Fortunately, one good thing about fate is that you could reject it. And that's what I planned to do. To reject her quietly.

I couldn't let her go with the mate bond still intact. It would force me to find her and I might not be able to reject her because once a mate is discovered, the pull to bond with them grows intense.

At some point, it becomes dangerous to reject it. Another reason I must reject her quickly.

With these thoughts ringing in my head, I ran quickly following her scents as it became stronger which meant she was near.

I doubled my pace, following circumspectly until her scent missed up with some strange scent. One that was familiar.

Fury burned in me. Lucy launched forward and my pace increased until I bumped into the source of the strange scents. Four werewolves who smelled like rogues.

My eyes roamed from them. Searching for the little shewolf. I caught her, she was held bound by another werewolf in a far distance.

I recognised him. Of course, how could I ever forget. The one man I'd longed to kill for a very long time.

"We meet again, old friend." He said, smiling mischievously.

Anger burned inside me. My aura slipped off as I watched little shewolf struggle hard to escape the tight grips of the man who held her.

She was naked. She had left her clothes back in one of those holes just as I calculated.

"Get your hands off her." Lucy growled, walking slowly in a devious manner towards the four men, whilst his eyes were on the man and the little shewolf.

I couldn't hold it all in; the itching anger. The thirst for revenge. They burned intensely in me. I lost control and lashed out on the four werewolves who were already trembling in fear. Tearing them up almost at once.

Fear gripped the little shewolf. Not the fear of who held her, but me. I growled deeply, walking menacingly to them.

"Let her go, now." I commanded, my aura circulating in the atmosphere as I watched him struggle against my command.

He laughed sarcastically. "This one. No. I will not. Not when you would tear me up right after I do." He said, moving backwards.
