Minutes pass by, and They are filled with the smell of cooked meat, conversation and in Jairos case, a very strong urge to go to bed.
As he looked around he saw the warm orange firelight bounce off the the boys faces, who were more gather up now as being in a team didn't much matter to them.
They spoke and chased each other around. some even began pulling pranks. Jairo watched as someone began throwing sticks at others and then blamed the guy next to him.
They both pointed at one another before just running from the five agitated boys together.
It almost felt like school when a teacher has to leave and print more assignments.
Without realizing it, Jairo had taken a few steps forward. He was not the most popular of boys.
In fact, He was more of a loner. It never really hit him until he had graduated Elementary school and the high school while having a total of five people he talked to regularly.
'Maybe that could change…'
But that maybe was not today. His head began ringing, throbbing even. It felt like his head was a water ballon.
Besides, he still had some time…at least he hoped so. He looked further and he saw Theon in the crowd, speaking to the boy he had passed on his way over to save him.
The boy seemed rather calm, with nothing to distinguish him from regular people besides his particularly weird claws and his attitude.
His claws were a milky grey color, blending in with his fur completely, while his temperament was calm and seemingly easygoing from what he could see from so far away.
He and Theon seemed to be hitting it off just fine. He seemed t say something witty that made Theon hold his stomach with laughter before he put his hand on the boys shoulder.
His smirk got larger as well when he turned and Saw Jairo staring. Jairo saw as the boy pointed at him and mentioned something to Theon while tilting his head in his direction.
Theon slowly craned his head over, his eyelids drooping lower than normal out of annoyance.
'Damn it! Why did he look over here? And how dare that ingrate be tired of me? I'm the only reason he's not dead by now!'
One thing is for certain. He would be sure to leave him to the wolves next time. Does that saying even work anymore considering his current circumstances?
Either way, it was time to look elsewhere.
Just as he dragged his eyes elsewhere and pretended to be staring at other people, he saw that the boy was waving his arms now in his peripheral. He looked over at him again, this time when they locked eyes the boy smiled.
'So he was trying to get my attention. Why?'
Personally Jairo felt that everyone would benefit if he had just stopped, but the boy did a beckoning gesture with his hand, telling him to
"come over here" at least that was what it looked like when Jairo tried reading his lips.
'Oh goodness.'
However, Theon put a hand on his chest.
While Jairo was thankful that he didn't have to go Near them, he felt as though he were about to be badmouthed.
'I honestly don't even have the patience.'
He was about to turn around before he saw Gabriel. He too was looking out into the crowd.
Without much thought needed, he could tell that was someone who wanted to fit in too.
He clearly hadn't looked at him well enough.
He had washed himself off and looked more presentable, but his feet stayed planted. He was unsure of himself.
Jairo walked up to him. "Hello Gabriel. You having an issue?"
Gabriel quickly straightened his posture and squinted his eyes. "What have you that idea?"
Jairo rubbed his chin before shaking his head.
"Nothing. But If you were wondering about talking to a few of those guys, you gotta remember one crucial thing."
"And what would you know about that?"
Jairo nearly choked on his words. All of a sudden having to be checked for what he knew wasn't so easy.
Stopping for only a moment, he continued. "I have a few friends here and there. And one thing they all have in common is that they have flaws. Nobody is perfect, and if you need someone to talk to, the first step is always going up to them first."
A smile creeped up Gabriel's face as he spoke.
"I didn't need to have this told to me, but I will keep it in mind."
'Yeah fucking right' Jairo though. But on the outside, he simply stuck his thumb up and walked away.
It was time to find out where the hell he was going to sleep.
Yet as he took twenty steps, Jairo had turned around and saw that Gabriel had already begun walking towards the boys he was so scared of talking too.
'It's like being a parent, but not really.' Soon after, he was turning back around. He didn't need to see what would happen. He'd make sure Gabriel told him all about it.
