Excellent, excellent, three happy occasions!
Daniel was in a great mood; this Frost was truly a lucky star.
If it weren't for the fact that the guy had already vanished into thin air, he would have invited him to the beach for a nice sunbath.
After all, his face was so White, indicating severe anemia; getting more Sun would definitely benefit his physical and mental health.
Eric walked over and asked Daniel, "Is Frost dead?"
Daniel replied, "If he doesn't have a second phase, then he's definitely dead."
A flicker of almost imperceptible regret crossed Eric's face.
It wasn't regret for Frost, but for not having had the chance to dig out those few kilograms of silver bullets from his corpse.
Regarding the strange black Fire that devoured Frost, Eric wisely chose silence; everyone has their secrets, and delving deeper was pointless.
"Since Frost is dead, I should leave too."
Eric put away his silver longsword, put on his signature sunglasses, and reverted to his cool demeanor.
The system prompt sounded: "NPC Eric Brooks has left your team."
Daniel didn't pay attention, only curiously asked, "Where are you going? Let's add each other as friends; maybe we can team up again in the future."
To be honest, Daniel and Eric had a rather pleasant time teaming up these past few days; teammates who actively give kills are truly rare.
Eric was clearly used to Daniel's way of speaking and automatically translated it into something he could understand.
"No need for contact information. I plan to go to other cities to continue hunting those Vampire bastards hiding in dark corners."
Eric paused, his voice low and firm: "Besides that, I also need to find my mother; there are some things I must ask her face-to-face."
"Uh..." Daniel scratched his head guiltily, "Alright, then I wish you good luck."
S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters, Director's Office.
Director Fury sat with his fingers interlocked, supporting his chin, a serious expression on his face.
"You're saying that I sent you to investigate a missing persons case, and you found out the case was related to legendary Vampires, and you conveniently eliminated the Vampire forces in New York City."
"And in the process, you discovered that the Vampire leader was holding a mysterious ritual to obtain the so-called Blood God's power, attempting to lead the Vampire race to dominate the Earth."
"Finally, you intervened in time to stop him, thwarted the Vampires' conspiracy, and saved human peace?"
Daniel gave a thumbs up: "As expected of the Director! Your summary is incisive and accurate!"
Director Fury: "..."
For a moment, he didn't know what to say.
A missing persons case actually led to so many Earth-shattering events.
The most outrageous thing was that by the time he learned of the incident, Daniel had already wrapped up the entire affair!
This feeling was like making a wish upon a shooting star and then going to sleep, only to wake up and hear that the star almost caused the end of the World, and the entire World experienced a night of terror while he was sound asleep.
Director Fury rubbed his temples: "Such a big matter, why didn't you notify me from the beginning?"
"No need, you'd just give me the follow-up tasks anyway, so it's better to just skip it all at once," Daniel said matter-of-factly.
Director Fury: "?"
Who said I was going to give you the follow-up tasks?
If he had known it was related to Vampires earlier, he would have mobilized S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents that very day to disinfect those Vampires with UV lamps; a bunch of creatures that couldn't stand the light dared to cause trouble on his turf!
However, Director Fury knew Daniel was crazy and couldn't be bothered to argue with him.
Besides, Daniel had indeed done a good job in this incident; apart from not notifying him, everything else was well done.
Still, Director Fury was quite surprised that Daniel had single-handedly taken down an entire Vampire force.
In fact,
Long before, Director Fury knew that Daniel possessed some special ability.
After all, for a guy who could instantly arrive at S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters from thousands of miles away, it was hard for Director Fury not to notice something unusual.
Moreover, Daniel didn't even bother to hide it, constantly performing various tricks in front of him, such as disappearing acts, instant costume changes, and conjuring objects out of thin air, practically treating Director Fury as if he weren't human.
He had only lost one eye, he wasn't completely blind!
So, one day, Director Fury, in a fit of rage... only raged for a moment!
No choice!
Daniel was simply too useful!
He only needed to issue tasks, and Daniel would complete everything else; it was simply effortless and convenient.
Of course, Daniel also occasionally caused him trouble, even making S.H.I.E.L.D.'s budget quite tight at one point, but compared to an Agent with a 100% mission completion rate, Director Fury could grit his teeth and accept that amount of funding.
However, Director Fury hadn't expected Daniel's abilities to be much stronger than he had imagined.
He could even take down a nearly immortal Vampire like Frost, which was truly beyond his expectations.
Director Fury narrowed his eyes and pushed a prepared document towards Daniel.
"This is your new mission. After it's completed, the bureau will evaluate whether you qualify for promotion to a Level 6 Agent."
The system prompt sounded: "NPC Director Fury has issued you an Identity Advancement Mission."
"Mission: The Mystery of the Ninja."
"Objective: Investigate a mysterious organization called The Hand and obtain important intelligence to give to Director Fury."
"Reward: Level 6 S.H.I.E.L.D. (HYDRA) Agent Authority Qualification."
What was interesting was that
the identity ranks of S.H.I.E.L.D. and HYDRA were actually interchangeable.
So, had these two organizations reached a point where they were indistinguishable?
In the early hours of the morning,
following the mission guidance, Daniel arrived near a heavily guarded building.
Several security personnel were stationed at the entrance of the building, and every entrant had to undergo their strict inspection before being allowed in.
But this didn't stop Daniel.
He crouched down, activated his gravity boots, and directly scaled the side of the building, easily reaching the top floor.
Then he pulled out a master key, easily opened the locked iron door on the roof, and silently infiltrated the interior of the building.
The hallway was dimly lit, but cameras were clearly visible in every corner, monitoring every position with full coverage and no blind spots.
The security measures could be said to be quite stringent.
Daniel was completely unconcerned, pulling out a cool-looking phone from his game inventory.
"Item: Hacker Phone (A phone from a top hacker, capable of easily infiltrating most electronic systems)."
Daniel had used this Hacker Phone to successfully hack into Pierce's office system back then.
Even S.H.I.E.L.D.'s level of defense system couldn't stop it, so a commercial building's system was naturally no match.
After a few quick taps on the screen, Daniel successfully infiltrated the building's surveillance system, replacing the real-time footage with a looping segment.
"What a perfect infiltration!"
Daniel's lips curved slightly, quite satisfied with his performance.
Let's see who dares to say I only know how to go berserk now!
However, he had barely taken a few steps forward when a sudden, urgent alarm sounded.
Mixed with it were the exclamations of the security personnel.
"Damn it, someone broke into the building!"
Daniel: "???"
