Standing once again before the gathered crowd, Emily raised one of the chocolate bars high enough for everyone to see.
"This woman claims that the chocolate sold by Infinity contains poison."
Her clear voice echoed across the silent street.
"If that accusation is true..."
She slowly unwrapped the chocolate.
"...then I shall consume this chocolate here, before every witness present."
Without the slightest hesitation, Emily calmly broke off several pieces and placed them into her mouth.
She chewed them slowly and peacefully as though she were simply enjoying an ordinary afternoon snack.
The crowd watched without speaking. When she finished the first bar, she opened another.
Then another. Only after Emily had eaten several pieces did Jaden quietly step forward.
Taking one of the remaining bars from her hand, he calmly unwrapped it before eating it himself without displaying the slightest concern.
Yet the greatest shock came immediately afterward.
Emily reached toward Jaden.
