Chapter 10: (Knowing the law)
At the police station, in the visitation room. Lei Zhang and Xu Jin were seated opposite the paparazzi known as Wei Jian who was unwilling to co-operate.
"The both of you have no right to keep me here, just wait till I get my lawyer", Wei Jian said.
"Did you just say you have no right to be here?", Xu Jin asked.
"Yes!, it's not against the law to take pictures of people at a public space",
Wei Jian said and Lei Zhang relaxed his elbows on the table.
"That's true but you crossed the line when you added a picture of me at my mansion. Using a drone or not, the Chinese law peotects the privacy of a person's residence, you might have used a drone but taking photos there without consent can count as an infringement of privacy under China's civil code",
Lei Zhang said Wei Jian bit on his lower lips knowing Lei Zhang was right.
"Fine, let's say I crossed the line a little, but do you really think you can make a big deal out of that", Wei Jian said.
"Oh we're not done ", Xu Jin said and Wei Jian turned to Xu Jin glaring at him.
"You didn't just take those pictures but also posted it on social media ", Xu Jin said.
"Posting pictures of people on social media with their consent or not is not against China's civil code ", Wei Jian said.
"Yes but you claimed in your post that we're gay, which isn't true making it a false statement that can damage someone's reputation. Under China's civil code, this qualifies as defamation (reputation rights infringement). So we can sue you for compensation and demand deletion and apology. But yours isn't just a false statement. Under the public security administration punishments law, fabricating and spreading damaging rumors online can also lead to detention or fines, so now in total. You trespassed wether into or near someone's home which is illegal intrusion, your post spread widely on social media falling under China's law against online rumors and slander which carries potential criminal liability so now you can face both civil liability and police detention ",
Xu Jin said and Wei Jian gulped down his saliva. He had indeed messed with the wrong people.
"Still want to call your lawyer?",
Lei Zhang asked and Wei Jian shook his head.
"I'm really sorry, please don't take this case that far",
Wei Jian begged, sweat now forming on his forehead and Xu Jin chuckled.
"Don't worry, we're considerate, we won't take the case far, but you are going to delete that post then post an apology video online and reveal that the post was fake and nothing like that is going, you're doing it tonight ",
Xu Jin said and Wei Jian nodded.

Xiao Yanran yawned, stretching her arms as the early morning sun rays reflected through the window almost blinding her eyes.
she rubbed her eyes as she tiredly sat up on bed. She took in a deep breath trying to absorb the sweet early morning peace but it was suddenly disrupted by her sister's screaming.
"Aaaaaah!",
Xiao Wan screamed running out of her room through the passageway into the living room.
"Dad, he's not gay, he's not gay look",
Xiao Wan said giving her phone to her dad who was seated on the sofa. He took it watching the video posted by Wei Jian, her mother who had been in the kitchen running out to see as well.
"The post of him being gay was fake, I've still got a chance with the CEO of Titan Core", Xiao Wan said happily.
"This is great news, My Xiao Wan is really beautiful, the moment the CEO of Titan Core sets his eyes on you, he'll fall for you in a second",
her mom said and Xiao Wan blushed. Xiao Yanran just looked at them then heaved a silent sigh before going back to her room to prepare for school regretting why she had come to see what was going on in the first place.

Lei Zhang sat in his office looking through the files on his table that were prepared and brought to him by the HR Team. It was for the approval of New employees.
The HR team had organized all applications and shortlisted the candidates but they didn't only send them to the department heads but also to him.
Lei Zhang had trust issues and didn't want the HR or managers bringing wrong people so he had to be the one to approve them.
Amongst the files of applications, Lei Zhang spotted an internship file. He didn't like accepting internships and was about tossing the file away when he saw the name written Xiao Wan.
He immediately went through the file looking at the passport and the girl indeed looked a bit like Xiao Yanran but just like a more matured version of her and quite more beautiful. He just couldn't help wondering if she was Xiao Yanran's sister.
Xu Jin suddenly walked in, seating opposite Lei Zhang as always and Lei Zhang immediately gave him the file.
"Do you think that's her sister?",
Lei Zhang asked and Xu Jin creased his brows as he went through the file.
"Well they do have the same surnames and they look a bit alike", Xu Jin said.
"I'll interview her personally",
Lei Zhang said taking back the file from Xu Jin.
"If she's indeed her sister, are you still going to accept her internship, I thought you don't take interns", Xu Jin said.
"Yes but, I'm pretending to be a tutor now to Xiao Yanran, if I ever had to reveal my real identity to her one day, I need her to first have a good impression of the CEO of Titan Core. If I turn down her sister's internship it might build a bad impression of the CEO to her ",
Lei Zhang said and Xu Jin grinned.
"Awn!, that's sweet, the cold Lei Zhang is finally trying his best to impress a girl ",
Xu Jin said and Lei Zhang rolled his eyes putting Xiao wan's file aside then continued going through the rest.
"But if her sister sees you as the CEO of Titan Core then Xiao Yanran sees you as her home tutor, aren't there risks of her finding out who you really are before you can reveal yourself",
Xu Jin said and Lei Zhang paused.
"They are so many pictures of me online as the CEO of Titan Core yet Xiao Yanran hasn't still found out who I am, I don't see a big difference if her sister works here but if she still finds out then let it be, but rejecting her sister's partnership could make her hate me ",
Lei Zhang said and Xu Jin chuckled.
"What's funny?", Lei Zhang asked.
"Nothing, just love your enthusiasm in impressing Xiao Yanran ",
Xu Jin said standing up as he slowly walked to the door singing loudly.
"So this is love, so this is love, so this is what makes life so beautiful ",
Xu Jin sang while Lei Zhang glared at him until he left his office purposely leaving the door open so that Lei Zhang could still hear him singing down the passageway. T.B.C
