The storm Anna came with calmed down… just a fracture. She didn't leave Cameron, she kept holding on to him. She gently took him to the sofa. She sat beside him, with one arm firmly around his shoulders, as if he might vanish if she loosened her grip.
"Start from the beginning," she commanded, her gaze fixed on Christopher. "And don't you dare leave anything out."
Christopher sat opposite them, the three of them forming a tense triangle. He started, his voice low and strained. He told her how Cameron walked up to him, the DNA results and the extra test he conducted. He also told her about the Willow Creek connection, how Cameron asked for time, the trap disguised as birthday gathering, the threats and the rescue. He showed her the photos of the bruises and the medical scan results.
