Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: So Beautiful

"This is…"

Stelle looked up at the statue in the center of the small lake before her. This obviously man-made object made her very happy, as it seemed to mean she would soon see others of her kind.

She followed what she believed to be the northern direction, walking along the path for a long time before finally seeing this small lake and the statue in its center.

Although this statue looked somewhat dilapidated, with some cracks on its body, it seemed no one had worshipped here for a long time.

Was it a discarded statue, or was the local purpose of building statues not for worship?

However, the power emanating from this statue… seemed to be wind?

How strange.

While Stelle was still staring blankly at the statue, a sudden noise came from the damp ground beneath her feet.

A blue, wet-looking sphere emerged from the ground.

Stelle immediately retreated a few steps and summoned her baseball bat, holding it in her hand, cautiously watching the strange creature before her.

It was round and plump, with a pair of eye-like parts on its surface.

"It's quite… cute." Stelle blinked, slowly exhaling, her body relaxing slightly.

In fact, she didn't feel any threat from the round creature in front of her.

Although this little thing indeed didn't seem to want to let her go.

It bounced towards her, and when it was at a suitable distance, it sprang up from the ground and crashed into her.

Unfortunately, this little thing's speed was a bit too slow; Stelle had enough time to use her Goodbye Homerun.

"Ha!" This time she didn't shout the skill name, but directly swung the bat with full force.

When the bat struck the round little thing, Stelle felt for a moment as if she was actually playing baseball.

With a muffled 'thud!', the little thing wasn't sent flying; instead, it was directly scattered by her baseball bat.

It seemed as if it was made of water, leaving no corpse, only a small piece of its viscous fluid lying on the ground in front.

Stelle curiously picked up the thing and squeezed it in her hand.

Threads stretched between her two fingers; it was a bit sticky, and the texture wasn't very good.

"Is this thing, perhaps, a Slime?" Stelle threw the object in her hand aside and made a guess.

Although she couldn't be 100% sure yet, this thing indeed had many characteristics of a Slime.

Those usually existed in worlds of swords and magic, right? Was the world she was in this type?

Stelle silently pondered as she walked to the water's edge.

She subconsciously looked down at her reflection, but she didn't expect that this glance would last for an eternity…

She was so beautiful.

No, I am so beautiful.

"Cough, cough, this, this is me?!" It didn't take long for Stelle to react. She quickly retreated, hugging her shoulders with both hands, her face even flushed abnormally.

Her appearance was no different from her memory; there weren't many changes.

But the feeling was completely different.

Although it sounded a bit narcissistic, but, but this, this was too beautiful!

"That is the Statue of the Seven…"

"The statues of the gods are scattered across the continent, symbolizing the Seven Gods guarding the world."

A somewhat childish voice suddenly came from a distance, making Stelle, who was immersed in a strange state, suddenly sober up.

She immediately turned her head to look in the direction of the voice, vaguely seeing two figures on the cliff behind her.

They were humans, or at least humanoid creatures, and she could understand what they were saying, which meant they could at least communicate.

The first step to survival was finally within reach.

But why… was that figure floating in the air?

Was it a species unique to this world?

Without much thought, Stelle hesitated for a moment, then found a place to hide first, deciding to observe these two people before doing anything else.

--------

"As is well known, language and poetry drift on the wind, and there must be news of your brother among them, I think…"

"Hmm, even if the Anemo Archon isn't the god I'm looking for, I can at least ask him for some clues…" the short golden-haired Damselette nodded and said.

She hadn't known this little fellow beside her for long, but as a guide, he was very reliable.

"This is the Seven Statues of the Archons." The golden-haired Damselette looked up at the somewhat damaged statue, her eyes gleaming with an inexplicable light.

"You can swim over too~"

"Okay."

The golden-haired Damselette's clothes seemed to have special abilities; the Damselette swam straight over, and in a short time, there were no wet marks visible on her clothes.

The Damselette, without being taught, placed her hand on the somewhat damaged statue.

Under Stelle's gaze, the statue actually lit up, and a surge of power flew into the Damselette's body.

"It seems you can use Anemo element power even without a Vision."

"It's absolutely impossible for people in this world to gain power as easily as you do."

"What is a Vision?"

"Waaah!?"

The sudden voice of a third party startled both fully focused individuals, causing them to let out cute sounds.

The two immediately looked in the direction of the voice, only to see a Grey-haired girl who had arrived nearby at some unknown time; seeing them turn around, the Damselette smiled somewhat awkwardly.

"She is…" The golden-haired Damselette looked at the little fellow floating beside her with some doubt.

"Don't look at me, I don't know her either." The little fellow spread his hands.

In any case, they still walked towards the person.

"Hello." Stelle greeted the two with a slight awkwardness; she hadn't expected her sudden outburst to scare them.

They seemed to have been too engrossed in their conversation, failing to notice a living person like her, even though they were standing on high ground.

"Hello…" The golden-haired Damselette looked at her with some doubt, and also with a hint of vigilance, as the other party's ability to approach them silently proved her strength might not be underestimated.

However, as she continued to look, the doubt and vigilance on the golden-haired Damselette's face changed.

A blush appeared on her cheeks, and her heartbeat involuntarily began to accelerate.

'What's wrong with me…' The golden-haired Damselette looked into the other's eyes, unable to quite comprehend the stirring in her heart.

And very quickly, she couldn't hold on any longer.

So, she silently shifted her gaze, looking down at the flowers and grass at her feet.

"Um, let me introduce myself, my name is Stelle." Stelle breathed a sigh of relief, not noticing the Damselette's anomaly, and simply began to introduce herself to the two.

But after thinking about it, she added another sentence.

"Perhaps the name 'Galactic Bat-Wielder' is more well-known."

This wasn't her deliberately trying to be funny; in her memories, she always used this title when introducing herself, so she naturally said it.

Moreover, if either of them had heard of this title, it would mean that they had at least heard of the Astral Express.

Perhaps they could help her find a way back to the Railway.

"Uh… Bat-Wielder?"

The golden-haired Damselette from another world didn't understand this world, and obviously couldn't judge whether this title was truly well-known.

Therefore, she looked at the white-haired little fellow beside her.

"Never heard of it." The floating little fellow spread his hands.

"I see…" Stelle was a little disappointed, but this result was within her expectations.

"Hello, I'm Lumine." The golden-haired Damselette finally spoke her name.

"Um, single, single…"

"What?" Stelle looked at the other party in confusion; she really hadn't heard the latter part of the other party's whisper, which was as faint as a mosquito's buzz.

"Nothing, nothing!" Lumine quickly shook her head, wondering why she had blurted out such strange words.

However, could this be the legendary love at first sight?

"Lumine, and who is this beside you?"

"Emergency food." Although the golden-haired Damselette's face was red, and she was in a state she couldn't quite comprehend, she still blurted out the answer she had long prepared.

"I am not!"
