Sengo wanted to try smithing right away when he first touched his father's hammer.
Unfortunately, his father didn't allow it and his mother threatened him that if he even try it without any of theirs supervision, he won't be let in near the forge. Ever. Which was something he greatly dreaded and quickly agreed not to.
Doesn't mean he's not allowed to be upset about it.
Sengo wanted to try smithing just so he could do what Senji Muramasa could do. He wanted to know how it would feel to make a sword that can actually cut through Fate, Karma, and Destiny. It was really a dream worth reaching, as foolish and stupid as it sounded.
But after awhile, he got over it. He decided that since he couldn't use the forge just yet, he will try to find something else to do so he could use it. After all, to use the forge, he needs a required strength right? So he will get it. And he would also train his control with sculpting, because one wrong move would destroy his ownhard work, right?
It was a good plan, really.
With that in mind, Sengo started to plan on what he will need to do to build his strength.
--
The plan to build his strength was going alright in all errors and mistakes he made along the way.
First, he do push-ups until he reached his limit. And then he do planks and squat until he also reached his limits. And then he also run to increase his stamina.
All of this was done in Count Henituse's training ground after he asked his father to get a permission, to which the Count allowed.
And because of this, he was known well within the Henituse guards for his hard working personality since he keep coming everyday. It was to the point they greet him and talk with him whenever he was on break.
Sengo was quite happy with his own progress as well when he managed to break his own limit everytime.
Of course, he didn't just train his strength. It was because one day, one of the guard remarked that it would be better if he also train his core strength he would get stronger. So, he asked how do one train their core strength, and once he got his answer, he started his core strength training.
And somehow, all of these led to him training with a sword. It was because the Guard Captain at the time, Roger Aillsman, became interested in him and decided to train him. There was also the offer of becoming a Squire, but Sengo declined. He still want to be a blacksmith, being a Squire of the Guard Captain won't guarantee that he could quit and then become a Blacksmith. He's training his strength to be a Blacksmith after all, not to be a Knight.
Roger seemed disappointed at that, but he still trained Sengo with a sword.
Though Sengo feel like it wasn't right, could it be because he was influenced by Senji Muramasa? Because Senji has a pride as a swordsmith. In his memories, Sengo remember Senji prefering swords he crafted himself. The reason why he accepted 'Shirou Emiya' to be a host to his Saint Graph was because of the Host affinity to Sword itself and the Reality Marble called 'Unlimited Blade Works' and the magecraft 'Projection', which made it possible for Senji to fight using his own modified sword in the many Swords of Legends or Noble Phantasms and Normal Swords that the Host owned.
Sengo knew that with he himself fusing with Senji Muramasa when he had been in the Numbness meant something. It could be that he became a Pseudo-Servant. But that was not possible, considering that he only gained the memories of the Pseudo-Servant. Sengo did not gain any powers from the Saint Graph. Though he hadn't tried, but even if he did, it would be a suicide since his body was still too young. He could only try once he reached a certain age, ideally 7 to 10 years old. This was because to open Magic Circuits, he need to either Continuously Practice using it, use an External Catalyst which could only happen if you ingest a specially concocted potion, and an Inherited Technique.
The last one was impossible, he doesn't even know if he inherited circuits, though considering his father possible appearance from another world like he was was not an impossibility either. And it wouldn't be such a surprise, too. But it would indeed be a surprise if his father came from the same world as Senji Muramasa, since Sengo's old one was rather normal. Normal compared to Senji's world, of course.
Not that he know any better, of course. In fact, he didn't know if what he had known was right in the first place. Senji was, after all, a Blacksmith. He was not a 'magus'. The little information he had was from a third rate magus, Shirou Emiya, Senji's Host. And the details was ignored by Senji most of the time, though Sengo was interested.
Sengo still went through Senji's memories, but after remembering the other part of Senji's Saint Graph, he also decided to dive into those memories.
It wasn't that late for Sengo to open his own magic circuits, of course that was if he had any at all... But he hadn't checked just yet.
Ah, well, his days been busy is all. But he was enjoying it, really. Other than training, watching his father in the forge, and going through the memories of Senji and Shirou Emiya, he got nothing else to do, but it was fulfilling and that's all he needed.
Really.
--
It was a small fact that Sengo often forget.
He was still a kid.
And he got no friend.
Not a kid his age, at least. But really, he was fine with that. Though his mother certainly wasn't amused and wanted him to communicate with children his age. And he understand that. But when he did try, it was... How do one said it? Cringe.
There was no problem, no, no. Quite the opposite. But being an adult in a child body was something he had as a curse when it come to communicating. Simply said, he doesn't know how to talk with his peers without coming off 'boring' as most would call his hobby such, proven by when he first told the neighbor's kid about it. It hit him harder than he liked to admit, which was why he tend to avoid playing with them.
Still, his mother worry. It was natural for a mother to worry for their child. Was their child doing fine? Are they hurt? Do they have a problem with their peers?
And thus, he tried.
Nothing really worked, of course. They played, but Sengo's own busy schedule make it seem impossible for them to do so. Which make him being left out most of the time.
It keep on like that, until he met a child who looked hurt. Sengo had took him to his mother, to which his mother and grandmother helps him nurse the boy back to health.
The boy's name was Charles, or Charlie as he was used to be called.
Charles was an orphan, his parents had died in the slums and he had been running from thugs before he found his way to where Sengo had passed.
Without much thought, his parents had adopted him and Sengo now have a little brother, who he swore to protect with his own life.
And that was how Sengo also got his first playmate.
Really, unplanned.
The next one was even more unplanned, of course.
