Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Taking It Personally

"I'm heading upstairs now, Aunt May," Silas said after helping in the kitchen.

Aunt May smiled. "Go ahead, dear. There's a cup of warm milk on the table. Take it up and drink it."

"Thanks, Aunt May." Silas walked out of the kitchen, picked up the milk, and headed toward the room.

He arrived at Peter's door and knocked: knock, knock, knock...

Then, he heard something crash to the floor inside. "Come in!"

"What are you up to?" Silas asked with a smile, holding the warm milk.

Peter, sitting in front of his computer, breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh, it's just you, Silas~"

"What's wrong?" Silas walked over to Peter.

Peter looked like he wanted to say something, but he stopped himself.

"...Nothing. Anyway, why did you come in?" Peter quickly changed the subject.

Silas held up the warm milk. "To chat with you."

"By the way, you seemed different today. You even dared to fight Flash Thompson," Silas noted.

Peter replied, "I don't know either. It's just... you know, I suddenly felt..."

Peter spoke haltingly, clearly unsure how to explain his situation.

"I get it, but you'll have to protect me from now on," Silas said, placing the milk on the desk, going behind Peter, and giving him a shoulder massage.

"Oh, please. I know what you're capable of," Peter said, a little annoyed.

When they were younger, even though he was the older brother, Silas always stepped up to protect him.

And his younger brother was much better at fighting than he was, but Peter thought to himself, that might not be the case anymore.

"Silas, let me ask you a question," Peter requested.

Silas nodded. "Go ahead, what is it?"

"If you suddenly had a lot of strength, what would you do with it?" Peter asked. This was the question that was confusing him the most right now.

He had this power, but what could he use it for? He couldn't just use it to fight at school; that wasn't his nature.

"Hmm... I don't know. That sort of thing would never happen anyway," Silas knew what Peter was referring to, but now wasn't the time to tell him.

"Alright, do you want to play a game?" Silas cut the conversation short.

Peter shook his head. "Nah, I still have a report to write."

"Shoot, me too!" Silas immediately lost the desire to chat, picked up his milk, and returned to his room.

Peter watched Silas's retreating figure, smiling helplessly. "Close the door on your way out."

After getting back to his room, Silas summoned a Shadowkhan ninja and asked, "Do you know how to write a report?"

"???" The Shadowkhan ninja tilted its head.

"You can do it! As a Shadowkhan soldier released by the Ultimate Power, I believe in you!" Silas handed the ninja a pen and a piece of paper.

This was the report for the technology exhibition, and it was due next week.

As for Silas, he had something else to do right now.

Silas walked to the top of the stairs. "Aunt May, Uncle Ben, good night! I'm a little tired, so I'm going to bed now."

"Alright!" Aunt May called back.

Ben Parker, sitting on the sofa, looked at his watch and wondered, "It's not even eight o'clock yet. That's the earliest I've ever seen him go to sleep."

"Maybe he's just exhausted from staying up so late every night," Aunt May replied.

In the Room

Silas summoned another Shadowkhan ninja, had it put on his pajamas, and lie down in bed to pretend to sleep.

Silas glanced at the Shadowkhan ninja diligently writing the report at the desk, walked over to the light switch, and turned off the light.

Shadowkhan ninjas have night vision, and the dark is their element; the lack of light wouldn't bother them.

Seeing that his preparations were complete, Silas nodded with satisfaction.

He walked over to the window, put on his ninja suit and mask, opened the window, and jumped out.

Rooftop of a Skyscraper

A shadowy figure leaped across the tops of tall buildings—it was Silas.

"This feels like flying," Silas said excitedly.

Silas was already skilled like a ninja, and after gaining the spider's abilities, his movements were even more fluid.

Moreover, his black ninja suit allowed him to blend perfectly into the dark night.

Wee-woo~ Wee-woo~ Wee-woo~

"Hmm? Police cars?" Silas stopped on a high-rise building, looking down at the police cars on the street. They seemed to be on some kind of mission.

"Looks like there's some excitement to watch~" Silas decided to follow the police cars and test his speed at the same time.

After chasing for about ten minutes, the police cars finally stopped, surrounding a silver medium-sized van.

"Is that a robber or a terrorist?" Silas wondered, plastered against the high wall.

If it was a robbery, it meant there might be money for him to pocket. If it was terrorism, watching a gunfight would be interesting, too.

On the Ground

"Everyone, pay attention!" the leading police officer commanded.

Their four police cars had blocked the van's escape route, but the criminals inside were armed and they had to be careful.

"People inside! Don't make any useless attempts to resist! Drop your weapons, put your hands up, and walk out with your back toward us!" the police shouted.

However, there was no movement from the van.

The police officer repeated the command, but the van remained silent.

The officers exchanged glances, cocked their weapons, and began to slowly approach the van.

A hand suddenly reached out from the van's window and tossed a grenade at them.

Click~ Ding!

"Take cover!" the police officer yelled.

Boom!

As the explosion went off, all the criminals poured out of the van and began firing!

"Die, you cops! Haha!" shouted a large man with a scar on his face.

Rat-a-tat-tat-tat~

A firefight erupted. The criminals' grenade had caught the police by surprise, putting them on the defensive, hiding behind their cars to avoid the bullets.

Silas, on the wall, counted the criminals: six! And they were all incredibly arrogant, showing their faces.

"Get that thing packed up! We're pulling out! Meet up at the usual spot!" the scar-faced man yelled.

After his order, all the robbers began an orderly retreat, disappearing into a narrow alleyway.

Silas noticed that the large man took a bag out of the van before escaping.

"Chase them!" All the police officers started to pursue. They had only been briefly suppressed by the criminals' firepower.

Now that the criminals were running in different directions, the police could pursue them more effectively.

"This is interesting~ What could be in the bag?" Silas became curious. What if it's something valuable?

The scar-faced robber was running, constantly looking back to see if the police were following him, completely unaware that someone was watching him from above.

"Looks like the police won't catch him," Silas could clearly see the layout of the alley from his vantage point above.

The police pursuing the robber were still some distance away, but there was only one exit at the end of the alley, and four police officers were guarding it.

"Time to act!" Silas dropped from the height. The large robber seemed to hear something above his head and was about to look up.

He saw a dark shadow kick him in the head, slamming him into the wall.

Silas casually snatched the black bag from his hand.

"Thanks, I'll be taking this now," Silas said, shaking the black bag in his hand.

He hadn't used much force; otherwise, the robber's brains would have splattered out. He still needed a scapegoat.

"You bastard!" The criminal snapped back to reality and reached for his gun, but Silas leaped up onto the wall and jumped away.

"What!" The robber could only watch Silas's figure vanish into the twilight.

The robber couldn't even react before he heard the police sirens closing in behind him.

The scar-faced criminal gritted his teeth and ran for his life. "Kid! Don't let me find out who you are!"

Silas's entire snatch-and-grab process took less than five seconds; it was executed flawlessly.

"Let's see what this is," Silas jumped to the top of a large building, opened the black bag, and checked the contents.
