Chapter 186 - Chapter 186: Capturing Kingpin

Chapter 186: Capturing Kingpin

Vroom~ A black car came to a halt at the factory entrance.

The workers nearby, who were busy transferring unicorn plushies, glanced at it briefly before lowering their heads to continue their work.

Click! A man dressed in black stepped out from the driver's seat and hurried to the rear passenger door, pulling it open.

Subsequently, a massive man stepped out. He was wearing a pale yellow suit and holding a scepter, his expression grim.

"Boss," the man in black said respectfully.

"Mhm." The bloated boss gave a slight nod and walked toward the factory gates.

The worker guarding the door stood up in a hurry, ran to the gate, and opened it. "Rest assured, Boss, everything is in order."

"You rest assured as well; if anything is out of order, the first thing I will do is wring your head off." The boss reached out with a large hand and placed it on top of the guard's head.

"Yes, sir! Yes, sir!" The guard trembled with fear.

The boss chuckled and walked slowly into the factory.

Atop the Factory

"You're telling me this bloated fat guy is Kingpin?" Peter asked in disbelief. The Kingpin he had imagined was a muscular powerhouse.

What Peter didn't know was that although Kingpin looked obese, that mass was pure muscle hidden beneath his clothes.

"Don't underestimate him," Matt warned. He hadn't personally encountered Kingpin before, but as the Emperor of the Underworld, the man's skills were certainly formidable.

"Boss, not a single item is missing from the warehouse. We are currently inspecting them. Once we confirm there are no issues, we'll ship them out," a worker explained, walking beside the boss.

"There better be no issues." The boss walked up to a unicorn plushie and thrust his scepter into it. Bags of white powder tumbled out.

The boss glanced at the powder on the ground. The worker immediately understood, kneeling down to pick it up and offering it to the boss. The boss took the powder and inspected it meticulously.

"Speaking of which, he's also carrying a scepter. Are you guys relatives?" Peter asked, noticing Kingpin's cane.

"Mine is a cane," Matt replied.

"Uh..." Peter frowned. "Isn't a cane a mobility aid for walking?"

"You can look at it as a blind cane," Matt explained.

"A blind cane? You're blind? But didn't you just leap across rooftops earlier?" Peter was even more confused.

"Could you talk a little less? Be careful not to get caught." Matt found this Spider-Man to be way too talkative; his mouth hadn't stopped moving since before Kingpin even arrived.

Peter quickly covered his mouth and made an 'OK' sign. "Don't worry."

"Mhm." Matt rubbed his temples, dealing with a headache. Finally, it was quiet.

"The goods are fine." The boss pulled a white handkerchief from his breast pocket and wiped his hands.

"Don't worry, Boss. With me here, it's absolutely foolproof. No one can sneak in here," the worker said with a fawning smile, handing the white powder to a subordinate standing nearby.

"I'll be back again next month. I expect the situation to be the same then." The boss turned and left.

Seeing the boss finally leave, the worker let out a deep sigh of relief. Standing next to that man caused a constant, overwhelming sense of dread.

"Kingpin is leaving," Peter noted.

Matt nodded. "I know. There's only one road leading to this factory. We can intercept him in the middle of it."

The factory was full of Kingpin's men; if they fought there, they would be hopelessly outnumbered.

"Let's go." Peter shot a web and gave chase, while Matt drew his blind cane and followed closely.

The worker followed the boss all the way to the gate. The driver by the car saw the boss returning, immediately extinguished his cigarette, and opened the rear door.

"Remember, your head," the boss said before sliding into the car.

Once the door closed, the driver stepped to the driver's seat, and the vehicle started up, quickly disappearing from the worker's sight.

"He's finally gone." The worker wiped away his sweat and turned back into the factory.

On the road, there wasn't a word spoken inside the vehicle. The boss sat with his eyes closed as if he were asleep.

Suddenly! The car braked hard. The boss's body lurched forward from the inertia. Thud! He hit the back of the front seat.

"What's going on!" the boss roared.

"There are two red..." The driver swallowed hard, his index finger trembling as he pointed.

The boss leaned out to look and saw two figures in red standing in front of his car.

"Kingpin, get out of the car!" Matt shouted, pointing his blind cane at the vehicle.

"I don't know you well, but I've heard you're a big bad guy," Peter added from the side.

Inside the Car

"Boss, what do you think?" the driver asked.

The boss touched the head of his scepter and said, "Next time you encounter this, drive straight through. Remember, the car does not stop without my command."

"Yes, Boss!" The driver slammed on the gas, and the car sped toward Peter and Matt.

"Look out!" The Spider-Sense in Peter's head went off. He leaped away instantly, dodging the collision.

Matt appeared even calmer. He took a step to the left, and as the car sped past him, he extended his blind cane, hooking it onto the door handle. He used the momentum to vault onto the roof of the car. He extended his cane and turned to shout, "Spider-Man!"

"On it!" Once Peter regained his footing, he shot a web that stuck to the extended blind cane and leaped onto the roof as well.

Inside the Car

Hearing the commotion on the roof, the boss gave the back of the seat a light push, revealing a gun. He picked it up and, without a word, fired upward.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Matt relied on his heightened hearing to dodge the bullets, while Peter avoided them easily with his 'cheating' Spider-Sense.

"Phew~ That was a close one," Peter said, pretending to wipe sweat from his forehead.

"Get him out of there, Spider-Man!" Matt commanded.

Peter immediately leaped down to hang beside the car door and threw a punch at the window.

Crash! The window shattered instantly, revealing Kingpin inside.

Bang!

"Hey! Take it easy~" Peter tilted his head to dodge a bullet fired by Kingpin.

Seeing that his handgun couldn't hit Spider-Man, the boss threw the door open wide.

"Whoa!" With the door flying open, Peter was nearly flung off, but he held on tight.

Seeing Spider-Man hanging onto the door, Matt took his blind cane and leaped into the car. The boss had just picked up his handgun again, intending to fire a few shots at Spider-Man, when Daredevil's blind cane suddenly struck his hand.

"Ow!" The boss cried out in pain and dropped the gun onto the seat.

Seeing this, Matt used his cane to hook the gun and toss it out of the car.

"Kingpin, today is your end." Matt hadn't expected things to go so smoothly tonight.

The boss bared his teeth and began to brawl with Daredevil inside the car. A heavy punch, accompanied by the whistling of wind, brushed past Matt's face. Matt narrowly dodged the blow and extended his cane, striking toward Kingpin's groin. After all, Kingpin looked so bloated that it felt like it wouldn't hurt to hit him anywhere else; targeting a vulnerable spot was the most effective strategy.

"Get off!" The boss delivered a powerful kick to Matt's abdomen, the massive force sending him flying out of the car.

"Spider-Man!"
