Chapter 240 - Chapter 240 Level 4 Illness

Everyone was very happy tonight. Perhaps the orphanage had received the money and prepared many new things for the children. Apart from the woman knocking on the door to ask Yin Xiu a question, the outside world seemed like another world.

Yin Xiu stared blankly at Xiao Xiao on the bed.

Everyone was so happy, so his sister must have just fallen asleep, right?

Once she wakes up, things will be back to normal, right?

The sky was covered with dark clouds, and thunder rumbled incessantly; it seemed that it would rain tonight.

Yin Xiu held Xiao Xiao's hands, which were icy cold and even stiff. He held them tightly, trying to warm them up and restore their small, warm hands, but to no avail.

"Brother, what...what should I do...how can I...make you wake up..."

His chaotic mind was collapsing further because he couldn't find an outlet for his frustration. He was at a loss, not knowing how to grasp his only hope.

"You're asleep, but they're still awake..."

"How about letting them sleep with you, brother? That way Xiaoxiao won't be afraid to sleep alone."

He gazed at the person on the bed, a smile spreading across his lips, as if gently whispering a question.

Although the room was completely silent, he was talking to himself by the bedside.

"Okay, okay, brother will go and let them sleep together. They're too noisy and will disturb Xiaoxiao's rest."

He kissed the cold, stiff hand. "Brother will be back soon. You sleep here for a while. After I've put them to sleep, I'll come and sleep with Xiaoxiao."

"Brother will always be by Xiaoxiao's side."

He finally got out of bed and slowly walked into the courtyard like a walking corpse.

A flash of lightning streaked across the sky, followed by a torrential downpour. Raindrops pounded against the windowpane and soaked Yin Xiu's clothes.

He found the wood-chopping axe in the corner, slowly gripped it, and stood up.

His dark, gloomy eyes, devoid of any light, seemed to have crawled out of a pile of corpses, filled with the aura of a dying man.

Yin Xiu carried the axe and walked step by step toward the kitchen, toward the sounds of laughter and joy.

When he appeared at the kitchen door, all the sounds inside stopped abruptly.

The dusty, wet boy stood there motionless, his lifeless eyes staring at them, twisted like an abyss.

"You! What are you doing here with an axe! Put it down!" The dean was the first to realize something was wrong and tried to stop him by shouting at him.

The children took two steps back in alarm and hid behind the woman.

The woman tried to comfort him, albeit haltingly, "Yin Xiu… I know you're very upset right now, but don't be impulsive… I told you before that it's easy for boys your age to find adoptive parents. How about I help you find one? That way you'll have a complete family."

In the past, Yin Xiu would not have adopted a family if he wanted to take care of his sister. Now that his sister is gone, perhaps he can move on and step into a new world.

But Yin Xiu just stared at them lifelessly, without giving any response.

The sense of danger emanating from him was terrifying.

Seeing that scolding was useless, the director shouted angrily, "You heartless little brat! But I took you two in! What's wrong with you doing something for the orphanage! Her death was an accident! What could we do!"

"Yes, yes, her death was an accident." The boy who had his tooth pulled immediately chimed in. He was so frightened that he lost all color in his face and stared at Yin Xiu in terror, not daring to move an inch.

Yin Xiu remained silent, only gripping the axe tightly with both hands. He glanced at everyone and then charged towards the dean first.

The sharp axe cleaved down fiercely, blood splattering everywhere, and screams echoed throughout the house.

The woman led the children and ran frantically outside. In their panic, all the children scattered and fled, hiding throughout the orphanage.

A bolt of lightning flashed across the sky, and a heavy thunderclap struck everyone's hearts. Yin Xiu calmly wiped the blood from his face, and amidst the screams, he slowly walked out, carrying his axe, searching for the others.

Thunder roared across the sky; he would be everyone's nightmare tonight.

A person with no more attachments is like the Grim Reaper, taking away all their pain before leaving.

He will make those who exploit their harsh dean, bully their children, and make their already painful existence even more difficult, feel the same pain.

On his way to the underworld, Yin Xiu hoped that he would see their vicious and resentful eyes.

Some begged for mercy, some cried out in anguish, and some kowtowed in repentance, but in the end, they all died under the axe.

Yin Xiu remembered every face of each of them, every single thing they had done, the fists they threw, the insults they uttered—he remembered them all and searched for them.

After an unknown amount of time, the screams ceased in the orphanage. Yin Xiu stood in the blood-stained corridor, head bowed, holding an axe, as if he had finished everything and had lost the ability to move.

Now, it's time to go find Xiaoxiao.

He slowly moved his feet toward his room.

Suddenly, a loud clap of thunder erupted outside, and some people rushed into the orphanage.

The blinding light instantly shone on Yin Xiu, making it impossible for him to open his eyes.

"Here it is! I've found it! The monster that killed everyone!"

"Quick, catch him! Don't let him get away!"

A group of people rushed forward instantly, and Yin Xiu swung his axe in resistance, desperately fighting back against their capture.

"Let me go! I need to find my sister! My sister... is still sleeping in her room!"

They seized Yin Xiu's axe, bound his hands, covered his head with a sack, and tried every means to restrain him.

Yin Xiu struggled desperately, biting and tearing at the person next to him like a wild beast.

He was hit on the head with a stick, his head buzzed and began to tremble, gradually becoming dizzy and disoriented.

Before losing consciousness, he heard the woman who often gently taught him speak in a panicked voice, "Take him away quickly! Get rid of this monster!"

With a woman's scream, Yin Xiu sank completely into darkness.

Well, he has no one who is kind to him anymore, not a single one.

In the darkness, Yin Xiu saw fragments of his past, a life of pain and sorrow, with only Xiao Xiao, like a sun, supporting him all the way.

When everyone is resisting him, what is there to keep him alive?

It's all gone, absolutely all gone.

Yin Xiu is now nothing more than a living corpse.

After an unknown amount of time, Yin Xiu slowly opened his eyes.

He found himself tied to a chair, his hands and feet bound, a bite blocker fastened to his face, and there was a metallic taste of blood between his lips and teeth.

The bright white light in front of him made Yin Xiu unable to open his eyes. He saw people in white coats walking back and forth in front of him, muttering to themselves.

"He killed so many people, he was a monster, I've never seen such a vicious person."

"Fortunately, they've been caught. People like that should be in a mental hospital and get proper treatment."

"His sister seems to have died here too? A drug rejection reaction, right?"

"It doesn't matter. They're all orphans anyway, so let them die."

Yin Xiu's brain jolted violently, and he began to struggle intensely. The scene before his eyes was distorted and dizzying. He gradually broke free from the hallucination, but he was still tied to the chair.

The mental hospital room in front of me had become somewhat dilapidated, but people in white coats were still moving around.

"I was terrified! I've never seen such a troublesome player before. He just killed some other players and even our staff. This guy is hopeless!"

"It's a level four illness. Let's send him to the mental hospital in a bit."

"This guy is completely insane; only the madhouse is suitable for him."

Yin Xiu blinked his dry eyes, his stinging brain making it impossible for him to distinguish between illusion and reality for a moment.

Whether in the past or present, his fate has always been to be sent to a mental hospital as a madman.
