Yin Xiu turned his head, still somewhat caught up in the memories.
He remembered what had happened in the orphanage, and how his sister had gotten lost.
He was taken away and sent to a mental hospital for treatment, or rather, an experiment disguised as treatment, because he retaliated against the people in the orphanage.
But what happened next? How did he get into the instance?
He clearly remembered that in his memory, he entered the dungeon to find his sister... How could someone locked up in a mental hospital appear in a dungeon?
Yin Xiu was somewhat dazed. He looked down at his clothes and tried to take out the Butterfly Communicator from his pocket to ask Zhong Mu about his current situation, but his hands and feet were tied to the chair and he could not move.
To prevent him from biting others, he was also fitted with a bite stopper on his face. The large mask prevented him from eating even when he was attacking people, just like when he was locked up in a mental hospital in his memory. After entering this place, he had no human rights.
In a daze, he heard the group of people in white coats muttering again, "What about the corpses in the orphanage? If this gets out, won't the director's entanglement with us also be discovered?"
"Why worry about these things when everyone's dead? Let the living woman be the director and continue taking in the children. Let's cremate the dead."
Yin Xiu suddenly looked up and glared, unable to tell whether he was in a hallucinatory mental hospital or in a dungeon, sometimes hearing hallucinatory voices and sometimes regaining consciousness.
His consciousness was hazy, and he murmured in a daze, "Don't burn it... Xiaoxiao is still in the orphanage..."
The man in the white coat standing nearby exclaimed in surprise, "He's awake! Quickly give him another sedative injection, before he goes crazy!"
"I'm looking! I'm looking! Let's deal with that orphanage thing as soon as possible! Otherwise, this person will keep bothering us."
Someone slowly approached Yin Xiu with a syringe. Subconsciously, he couldn't bear the needle, so he immediately struggled.
The person next to him quickly grabbed his hand, trying to inject the medicine. Yin Xiu endured the excruciating pain, grabbed the syringe with his other hand, and forcefully jabbed the needle into the person next to him.
The man wailed and immediately took a step back. Yin Xiu, holding the syringe in one hand and grabbing the man's clothes with the other, forcefully pulled him forward and said viciously, "Untie me! If you don't, I'll gouge out your eyes!"
The sharp needle was inches away, and the person in the white coat was terrified, muttering, "Don't move! I'll untie it! I'll untie it right away!"
In a panic, he managed to free one of Yin Xiu's hands. Yin Xiu quickly grabbed him, then picked up a scalpel from a nearby table and held it to the man's neck, threatening the others, "Don't come any closer!"
He threatened people to untie his hands and feet, and with a scalpel in one hand and the person in the other, he slowly led the hostage away from the mental hospital in front of everyone.
Going back, finding Xiaoxiao, is his only obsession now.
He ran barefoot at lightning speed down the road, and after leaving the mental hospital, he went straight back to the orphanage.
The place was completely silent, without a soul in sight. He walked along the cleaned-up corridor and headed straight for his room.
There was no one inside; Xiaoxiao, whom he had placed on the bed, was gone.
This dilapidated little house, without Xiaoxiao, can no longer be his home.
For Yin Xiu, living had lost all meaning.
He stood at the door of the small house, like a deflated balloon, having lost all hope and motivation.
"Time to sleep... Time to go to sleep..." he murmured, wandering around the orphanage, searching for something that would allow him to fall asleep.
He went to the dean's room, which he had never set foot in before. The room was full of antiques, all of which he seemed to have bought at high prices. No one knew how much these things were worth, but he would never use them to help them.
Yin Xiu trudged heavily and spotted a slender knife on the display shelf in the room.
The blade, when held upright, was almost as tall as him.
He gripped the knife and pulled it out with difficulty, unsure whether it was due to the remaining injection or something else.
The moment he drew his sword, he caught a glimpse of a white figure in the corridor and rushed over.
"Xiaoxiao?" Yin Xiu grabbed his knife and followed her out almost without thinking.
In the empty and quiet orphanage, the white figure floated lightly across the corridor and walked out.
Yin Xiu chased after him, searching the dark and quiet streets.
Xiaoxiao was indeed still alive; she must have woken up and was looking for him.
He needs to find his sister; he has to find her quickly...
His body was already extremely heavy, but his strong will still sustained him as he searched.
He heard faint sounds coming from afar, constantly drawing him over. Yin Xiu didn't know what kind of sounds they were; they seemed to be coming from his mind.
"What do you want? I'll give you anything, everything, just stay by my side..."
He vaguely followed the sound, searching for his sister. He had to find his sister.
The streets were so dark at night that he had no idea where he was. A dark and unfamiliar road appeared before him, and he could only walk straight ahead, searching and searching...
But at the end of the road was not his sister, but a monster writhing in the darkness.
It was so dark that it almost blended into the environment. Yin Xiu could sense what scene was around him, but he couldn't see it clearly, just as he couldn't see the monster. He could only feel the chill it was emanating from.
In the darkness, the monster's two eyes stared straight at him, and its mouth revealed sharp teeth.
Yin Xiu stared blankly and absentmindedly at the monster in front of him. He wasn't particularly afraid, but since the monster was blocking his way and preventing him from finding his sister, he drew his knife and swung it at it instantly.
The monster happily approached, but before it could say anything, Yin Xiu slashed it in the face.
The sharp, long knife was caught in the monster's jaws. With two quick snaps of its teeth, it crushed the blade, leaving only the hilt.
Yin Xiu stared silently at the remaining hilt of the knife in his hand, falling into complete silence.
But the unseen monster in the darkness slowly coiled around Yin Xiu, enveloping him. "Was that just now a sacrifice for me?"
Yin Xiu didn't answer, but instead turned to stare at the monster in front of him, "Are you going to eat me?"
"No, I won't eat you." Black, sticky tentacles wrapped around Yin Xiu. "I want you to stay here."
Yin Xiu forcefully pushed away the things that were wrapping around him. "I need to find my sister. I can't stay here."
"Little sister, you came here because of this thing, right? Everyone who enters here is looking for something. What are you looking for? What is little sister?" The black monster kept rubbing against Yin Xiu in the darkness, asking curious questions.
Its existence is like a vague concept, unclear and intangible, seemingly having a physical form, yet also seemingly all darkness.
"My sister...is an important member of my family..." Yin Xiu murmured softly, unable to contain the emotions he had been holding back for days. He was on the verge of collapse. "I lost her...I can't find her..."
"It's all my fault, it's all my fault for not watching over her properly... I can't find her... I have no family left..."
He was dazed and helpless, but he didn't shed a single tear. His eyes were like dull gems, extremely dim.
"You're the most mentally unstable human I've ever met, yet you didn't cry." The monster circled Yin Xiu once. "Perhaps I can learn something special from you."
"Would you like to stay? I can be your family. You can go out to find your sister, or you can come back to be with me."
"We are family."
