Chapter 364 - Chapter 364 You're still alive, and I feel terrible.

His thoughts were not even concealed; they were clearly displayed on his face, so disgusted that it was as if he were seeing an enemy.

Zhong Mu looked at the priest and the child in the room, then at the man, and stared blankly for a moment, somewhat incredulous, "Why? Why can you forget even your family so easily?"

"Family, friends, lovers—aren't these important relationships for everyone?" Zhong Mu straightened her back, gripping the axe, and stared at the man with a puzzled look. "You can forget so easily. Have you ever thought about how the forgotten person feels?"

The man looked at the woman, then at Zhong Mu. Given the current state of the City of Oblivion, he roughly understood what Zhong Mu was talking about. He couldn't help but smirk, "Hmph... If she can forget, it means she's not someone I value. She's chosen to forget. What does her feelings have to do with me?"

The cold indifference emanating from the man's mouth was extremely chilling and deadly. Even Zhong Mu, let alone the priest, felt a chill run down his spine upon hearing it, and his brows furrowed tightly.

"I don't like what you said, and I don't like you as a person." His hand holding the axe turned slightly white. "I don't like killing, but I really think you don't deserve to live to the end."

"The thought that if the City of Oblivion were to ever resolve its chaos, and you were still alive, makes me feel terrible."

Zhong Mu stared coldly at the man, "So please disappear right now and let them go."

The man was stunned. Before he could say anything, the axe that was pressing against his neck was slightly moved away. A look of joy appeared on his face, but the next second, the axe, which had been moved away, slashed at him with even more ferocious killing intent.

A bright red, glaring blood burst open, staining Zhong Mu's entire body.

The twilight gently enveloped the entire Forgotten City, casting a peaceful and warm glow on the streets. Everything looked so beautiful and tranquil, as if even the conflicts of this chaotic place had disappeared.

"Wait! Go check on him! It's getting dark!" the priest inside the house suddenly shouted, patting his wheelchair and urging Li Mo on.

Li Mo then realized that the light on the horizon had begun to turn yellow, as if it had been sunny and clear just moments before, but now the sun was setting.

He immediately stepped forward, grabbed Zhong Mu's hand holding the axe, and tilted his head to ask softly, "Are you alright?"

The moment he was touched, Zhong Mu gripped the axe tightly and instinctively swung it around, striking Li Mo squarely on the neck.

Li Mo calmly pushed away his axe and examined Zhong Mu's face. Zhong Mu's face was covered in blood, pale, and his pupils were somewhat unfocused, indicating that he was in a daze.

Dusk in the City of Oblivion is the most dangerous time, but yesterday at dusk, Zhong Mu did not react in that way. Instead, he was extremely cautious, and would come over every now and then to ask Li Mo if he still remembered him.

Is there some special trigger required?

Li Mo raised his hand to cover his neck, which had been slashed open by the axe, and slowly repaired the wound. He looked at Zhong Mu with confusion, then turned to the priest, "Something seems off about him."

As soon as I turned around, I saw the priest shout, "Watch out!"

Li Mo turned around and saw a large red axe suddenly swinging down at him. Zhong Mu was dazed and muttering something under his breath.

Li Mo didn't even flinch; he raised his hand to block the axe, then leaned closer to hear what he was saying.

"What should we do... what is the right thing to do..."

"My thoughts... don't matter... I'll be obedient..."

His voice was very soft and low, almost repeating the same two sentences. Li Mo still didn't understand what Zhong Mu was doing, but to prevent him from continuing to cut himself, Li Mo used his tentacles to wrap him up and carried him back to the house to let the high priest take a look first.

Zhong Mu's impression was that he killed that man because his words reminded him of bad memories.

Family is an important relationship that everyone is born with. Compared to friends and lovers, family should be the most important safe haven in a person's life. Zhong Mu used to think so.

He dislikes people who actively abandon their families, including his own.

In the blink of an eye, Zhong Mu appeared in his small room, the room where he had been living before entering the dungeon.

The room was narrow and cluttered with all sorts of things, like a storage room.

The light outside the window was dim, making it hard for him to tell the time. Returning to the small room, he felt only a chill.

"Knock knock knock." A knocking sound came quickly from outside the door. Zhong Mu turned around, subconsciously gripped the axe in his hand, and stared straight at the door.

Then a familiar voice rang out from the doorway, "Brother, come out and cook. Mom and Dad haven't come home from get off work yet, I'm starving."

Zhong Mu didn't respond, but stared straight at the doorway.

The knocking sounded again, and it was the same voice, but this time it was even more impatient. "Hurry up and come out to cook. Also, remember to wash the school uniform I left in the bathroom. I asked you to wash it for me before, but you didn't. I'm almost out of clothes to wear!"

The muttered voices faded into the distance, full of complaints.

Zhong Mu stood in the room for a moment. Apart from that door, there was no other way out of this small room.

He took a deep breath, then closed his eyes, trying hard to warn himself, "It's all an illusion, all an illusion, I left a long time ago."

After giving himself a pep talk, Zhong Mu walked to the door with the axe in hand and turned the doorknob.

Outside was his familiar living room, its familiar layout, and even the person lying on the sofa watching TV was the same person he remembered perfectly. However, after so long, his face was covered by a hazy mist, making it impossible for Zhong Mu to see his features clearly.

Upon seeing Zhong Mu emerge, the person impatiently urged, "Hurry up and cook! I'm starving! Be careful your parents don't scold you when they get back!"

Zhong Mu didn't move, but stood there staring at him. "You should do it yourself."

The man immediately flew into a rage, standing up aggressively and glaring at Zhong Mu, "You're my brother! You're older than me, it's normal for you to take care of your younger brother! What's wrong with asking you to cook a meal! Mom and Dad always say you should take better care of me!"

Zhong Mu smirked. "Am I your brother? I'm more like your nanny, always available, no days off."

The person angrily slammed down the TV remote, glaring at Zhong Mu, "If you won't cook for me, you should at least cook for Mom and Dad! You won't cook, huh! Just wait, Mom and Dad will scold you when they get back!"

With that, he turned around aggressively and prepared to leave.

Before the man could take more than a few steps, Zhong Mu quickly stepped forward and grabbed him.

The person smiled smugly, "You know you were wrong, right? Go cook now, hurry up."

Zhong Mu calmly raised the axe in his hand and held it to his neck. "I've been doing this for so many years, and you've been reaping the benefits all this time. It's time for you to do it yourself."

"If you don't do it, I'll kill you."

The man's expression was unclear, but his voice was full of astonishment, "Are you crazy? If Mom and Dad knew you treated me like this, they would definitely kick you out!"

"Who do you think you are? You dare to threaten me?"

"Do you know that I'm the son that Mom and Dad love the most? Who doesn't say I'm great or like me? You useless older brother are already being too kind by doing chores and contributing to the family!"

His attitude was aggressive, and Zhong Mu didn't want to listen to his nonsense any longer. He gripped the axe in his hand and swung it down without hesitation.
