Over the next few days, Jin Di noticed something odd.
No matter where he went in the penthouse, fruit followed him.
Apples in the morning. Oranges in the afternoon. Pears before dinner. Berries in between meetings. Even when he didn't ask, someone would quietly place a bowl or plate beside him as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
He didn't complain. He ate everything without comment.
But after more than a week of this routine, suspicion finally crept in.
So when a maid gently set down a plate of freshly cut honeydew and cantaloupe beside him while he reviewed documents in the library office, he finally asked, "Why do you keep giving me fruit every day?"
The maid smiled politely. "It was Young Miss's instruction, sir."
As expected.
"I see," he replied. "Thank you. You may go."
