Caitlyn's voice carried a threatening edge. "Hand it over or don't—that's your call. But I'd decide fast if I were you. Cross me, and I might just turn Irina loose. And trust me, you won't like what happens next."
Linda's thoughts churned. One hundred and fifty thousand wasn't pocket change for the Bernard clan. Still, Annie had hammered it home—only with Irina gone could their family climb out of this hole. Linda clenched her jaw and nodded.
"Deal. One hundred fifty thousand. You better deliver." She punched in the transfer on her phone.
Caitlyn's face lit up as the notification pinged. "Money talks, honey. Mrs. Bernard, pop the champagne—I've got this handled."
Her phone buzzed before she could savor the moment.
