Irina's POV
"Tell the truth and you'll be fine," I whispered, my voice barely audible. "Lie to me, and every blood vessel in your body will burst one by one. You'll bleed out slowly."
The little pill I'd slipped Jared was my own creation—Truth Serum. I'd whipped it up during a boring afternoon, never thinking I'd actually need it.
Jared's eyes narrowed with disbelief. The idiot probably thought this was some fantasy novel bullshit that couldn't possibly exist in real life. He figured I was bluffing.
I caught that skeptical look and shrugged. "Don't believe me? Test it out. First question—is whoever's pulling your strings standing in this room right now?" I stepped aside, letting him get a good look at everyone behind me.

Zack felt ice shoot through his veins as his fist clenched involuntarily. "She's targeting me directly," he thought.
Jared ignored the warning completely. "Hell no," he spat out.
Relief flooded Zack's chest. Jared would never have the balls to expose him.
