Just then, Ayan heard the faint rattling sound of the door, along with the faint voice of a woman.
"Hobin, open the door, son. Hobin, what happened? Why aren't you answering?" Hobin's mother said anxiously.
"It seems Mother is calling me. But how am I supposed to enter Hobin's body now?" Hobin thought anxiously.
The moment he finished thinking that, Ayan entered Hobin's body.
"What happened, Mom? Why are you shouting so loudly?" Ayan said as he opened the door, stretching and pretending to yawn.
"Mom, nothing happened to me. I was just feeling a bit dizzy, so I came upstairs earlier to lie down and sleep."
"Oh…" Ayan's mother let out a sigh of relief and said, "I thought something had happened to you, my child."
This woman cares so deeply about her child. Even though this love is not meant for me, I can still feel it. Is a mother's love really this powerful? Is that why, in my world, people say that heaven lies beneath a mother's love?
Ayan felt deeply distressed by the thought that the person she cared for so much was not truly her child. For a moment, he considered telling her the truth. But then he realized that if he did, the happiness on her face might never return. It could also bring him serious trouble if anyone discovered that he was a transmigrator. In the end, Ayan decided that it was better not to say anything.
Then Ayan hugged Hobin's mother.
"Oh… my child, what happened? Are you okay?"
Ayan made an excuse about a headache and said, "It's nothing, Mom. I just have a slight headache. I'll buy some medicine on the way to school."
After Ayan put on his school uniform and grabbed his bag, he headed downstairs. His mother watched him go, a peaceful smile spreading across her face.
"So this is the High School of Mamor… Hobin's school," Ayan muttered, standing in front of the building.
The school loomed large, its structure slightly aged, with clocks mounted on the walls and iron railings tracing the edges of the balconies. A faint wisp of smoke drifted from somewhere above, probably the kitchen, while students wandered through the courtyard in their uniforms, backpacks swinging from their shoulders. The window frames and gates were detailed, showing the craftsmanship of an older era, yet the school still felt alive, bustling with energy.
Suddenly, a voice called from behind him, "So you made it to school… today we're hitting the Fight Club. Sound good?" Ayan recognized the voice—this was Hobin's friend, Chino.
"Alright, let's go inside first," Ayan said.
As soon as he stepped inside, Ayan thought to himself with a burst of excitement,
"F**k, it really feels like there's a full-on fair of girls going on in here."
"Control, Ayan… control," he said to himself in his mind, trying hard to keep his emotions in check.
After entering the classroom, Ayan slid into the very last bench, feeling every bit like a typical backbencher.
"Hey, why'd you sit on the last bench? You never sit there," Chino said, looking at Ayan with a mix of surprise and curiosity.
"So what if I never did before? I'll sit here from now on," Ayan replied, casually.
"Dude, if you sit here, you're gonna end up crossing Nicol and his gang," Chino said in a low voice. "Don't you know? He's the biggest bully in this class. What do you want to get your ass kicked or something?"
Everyone in the class had their eyes on Ayan. He thought to himself that getting dragged into some mess on the very first day wouldn't be smart. After a brief pause, he spoke calmly:"Alright, fine. Let's go sit in our seats."
Chino let out a sigh of relief, glad that Ayan had decided to play it safe.
Just then, a girl named Nada walked up to Ayan and teased, "What's the matter? Freaking out or something?"
Ayan didn't show any expression. Inside his head, however, he thought, "F**king hell!"—a mix of shock and irritation bubbling up, though his face betrayed nothing.
Ayan didn't say a word to Nada. He deliberately avoided her, walking past as if she didn't exist, keeping his face neutral while his mind buzzed with irritation.
Inside his head, Ayan thought, "I won't let this slide. You'll regret it."
Chino said, "Why are you unnecessarily scolding and making him angry?"
Nada crossed her arms and shot back, "I didn't say anything wrong. I was right."
Just then, Nicol walked into the classroom laughing and said, "Yo, Hobin! I heard you were sitting in my seat."
Then Nicol strode over to Ayan and pressed his foot on the edge of the seat where Ayan had been sitting. Leaning down close to his ear, he whispered calmly but menacingly, "Where the hell did you get the guts to sit here, you little brat?"
Hearing that, anger flared inside Ayan, but he kept his mouth shut.Just wait, you bastard, he thought. I'll set you straight soon enough.
But what was I supposed to do right now? I couldn't just say sorry and end it like that. If I did, my aura would drop hard in front of the girls.
Before he could think any further, the teacher walked into the classroom.
"I'll let you go this time—only because it's your first mistake," Nicol said with a smirk.
On the other side, the girl with the golden hair was gliding along in her school carriage, her mood absolutely radiant. She hummed softly to herself, a small smile playing on her lips, as if the whole world was in her favor today. The sunlight caught her hair just right, making it shine like spun gold, and she felt unstoppable, carefree, and full of energy.
The girl's name was Tessa Scott, daughter of a noble family. She was thinking about Ayan and that whole divine realm and all the events that had happened, which was why she was in such a good mood.
On the other side, someone arrived at Hobin's house.
