Chapter 249 - Chapter 249: Mew and Shadow Mewtwo Battle! Meeting Ash Again

Its mind goes momentarily blank again.

It never expected Shadow Mewtwo would come for another round.

"You you you!!"

Finally coming back to herself, Mew's face turns red with anger.

"You're so rude, Meow!"

Mew has decided that no matter what, today she must teach this dark guy a lesson.

Although usually good‑tempered, she can still get mad!

Shadow Mewtwo remains emotionless, as if nothing just happened.

"Little one, aren't you curious about Mewtwo's origin?"

"?"

Mew tilts her head; she is somewhat curious, after all she can smell some of her own scent on Shadow Mewtwo.

This feels off.

"Mewtwo is a new life born through genetic research experiments, and that genetic code includes a little one of yours, and it's the most fundamental part of you as well."

Damian smiles and reveals this truth, since there's nothing to hide—the Shadow Mewtwo has already accepted its birth process.

"Huh?"

Mew's eyes widen in an instant.

To think that a Pokémon manufactured from its own genetic code…

"That means I'm your mother, Meow! You… this guy is going too far!"

Mew's mind is clearly quirky; she doesn't mind her genetic code being used to manufacture a new Pokémon.

But it does care about what Shadow Mewtwo just said.

From a genetic standpoint, Shadow Mewtwo would be her child, since Shadow Mewtwo was born from her genetic code.

"I have no parents."

Shadow Mewtwo's voice is deep and cold.

"How can you say that, Meow!"

Mew shows unwillingness.

"Mew, aren't you angry?"

Damian is curious about Mew's reaction.

"Why should I be angry, Meow?"

Mew tilts her head, puzzled by Damian's question, because humans used their own genetic code to create Mewtwo?

"This world is marvelous, Meow; it's vast, I've seen many Pokémon born processes."

Mew's sweet, childish Telepathy sounds like a girl's voice, innocent and pure.

"But there's no such thing as pure chance in this world. A life will be truly born and have its own will, then it will be alive; it will be recognized by the world, meow."

Mew's words stun Erika and Caitlin.

"Although I'm surprised that the dark guy was born from my genetic code, as long as he appears, he's inevitable, meow."

"If he doesn't appear today, someday in the future, in whatever form, he will be born."

Mew studies Shadow Mewtwo carefully, biting its claws.

Shadow Mewtwo's heart shivers; it had long accepted its birth, but Mew's endorsement still stirs something.

Shadow Mewtwo's gaze softens toward Mew.

But next moment…

"But you're really ugly, meow, why are you black, and so big, not inheriting my appearance, obviously you're not as adorable as my 'mother'."

Mew blurts out without thinking.

If it weren't for Damian's disclosure, Mew wouldn't have believed that this dark creature was born from her.

This contrast is huge!

Shadow Mewtwo tightens its fists, its cold gaze fixed on Mew.

"You're not my mother!"

"Huh? You are, you have my genes, meow."

Mew protests.

"That's because I am your Father."

Shadow Mewtwo says calmly.

This is the third time! The third time!

Mew snaps in anger.

"Damn it! I'm going to teach you a lesson, Meow! You're not adorable at all!"

"Hmph! Let's see what you've got."

Shadow Mewtwo snorts coldly, wariness sparking in its eyes—its name is Mewtwo after all.

If there's a fight, take it to the sky and not here, Damian reminds appropriately.

Hearing that, both Mew and Shadow Mewtwo don't object; they rush toward the clouds together and vanish.

"Damian, aren't you going to stop them?"

Erika froze at the sight, still thinking Damian would block Mew and Shadow Mewtwo's battle as before.

"Not really necessary. Mewtwo and Mew have a deep bond; it's beneficial for them to battle once."

Damian shook his head.

"Oh really." Erika thoughtfully, then curious: "Who do you think will win?"

"That…" Damian raised a brow, who will win, Mew or Shadow Mewtwo? Actually, if it were a normal Mewtwo, Damian thinks Mew would have a 90% chance to win.

After all, Mew's strength has always been a mystery, but through Mewtwo's comeback in the movie, it's clear that Mewtwo at that time wasn't as strong as Mew.

After all, Mewtwo has been going all out, while Mew plays a bit of mischief and only later becomes a little more serious.

But this can't be used as a definitive judgment, because in the movie, Mewtwo was only born not long ago; even if awakened, its power isn't on par with Mew.

Moreover, Mew can Transform; in Aura Guardian, Mew even transformed into Ho-Oh.

"Who knows." Damian didn't give a direct answer, after all he doesn't know Mew's strength.

And Shadow Mewtwo still has Dark type, which gives it an advantage.

But whether Shadow Mewtwo wins or loses doesn't matter; the main goal is to satisfy its psychology by letting it battle Mew.

"Archer."

Damian wasn't idle, he called Archer.

"Boss, what orders?"

"I've got my eye on a piece of land; you go buy it, and move the organization's farm here."

"I've sent you the location; you come in person to take a look, then have a trusted subordinate guard nearby."

Damian reminded Archer; he treats these farms as very important, after all, they are the future organization member Pokémon's raising base.

"Understood."

Archer replied solemnly.

"Tree of Beginning plus Aether Paradise; two Pokémon farms should be enough for now."

Damian hung up, gazing at the towering Tree of Beginning that blocked the sky.

Currently, the Team Rocket organization has several excellent farms, the only one beyond Johto is the Aether Paradise in Alola, but one Paradise clearly isn't enough.

Tree of Beginning is very suitable, but there are parts of this site that aren't ideal. For example, there isn't an environment suitable for Ice-type Pokémon, while at Aether Paradise you can artificially manufacture an ice and snow ecosystem.

After about an hour, a deep purple and pink glow descended from the sky.

"Hmph—told you, you're my child; how could you beat me, Meow."

Mew giggled, hugging its own tail, still excited.

Clearly, their battle's result was Mew winning.

"..." Shadow Mewtwo's brows knitted tightly as it stared at Mew, but didn't rebut.

It and Mew had the purest form of Psychic-type Pokémon clash, directly forming a psychic wall and fiercely countering each other.

And the final result was obvious.

Shadow Mewtwo hadn't expected that the small Mew could contain such a terrifyingly huge psychic power inside its little body.

But there's no denying it: it did lose.

After an hour of fighting, Shadow Mewtwo clearly felt its usual inexhaustible psychic energy running low.

But what Shadow Mewtwo didn't expect was that Mew didn't tire; it kept smiling, calm and relaxed.

"Mewtwo?" Damian looked at Shadow Mewtwo.

"Hmm, I lost." Shadow Mewtwo said, not happy about the result, but it can accept it.

"Ha-ha—call your mother to hear you." Mew immediately approached Shadow Mewtwo, directly "riding" its face.

Shadow Mewtwo's face darkened, though its face is already dark.

"Although I lost this time, you can't take the victory and use it to demand more; we didn't enter into any agreement beforehand."

Shadow Mewtwo waved its arm, black energy pushing Mew away, speaking coldly.

"Huh? You're cheating, Meow!"

"Not really. Next time I won't lose to you again."

Shadow Mewtwo glared at Mew, then transformed into a beam of light returning to Damian's Ultra Ball.

Having just had a pure psychic clash, its psychic reserves are depleted; it needs a good rest.

"You ran away, you're making me angry, Meow!"

Mew was furious; it believed it had won, yet Shadow Mewtwo wouldn't even call it "mom."

Damian couldn't help but laugh; this Mew is really adorable, like a pure child.

Next, Damian pulled out some treats; Mew turned away from Shadow Mewtwo's matter and focused on the food.

And the final note is: this Mew, compared to juice, seems to prefer alcohol more.

After guzzling two bottles of booze, this Mew grabbed the bottle, patting its chest and promising Damian that it will watch over the Pokémon well, not letting any of them slip away.

This made Damian a little worried.

But then again, even if it drinks too much, Mew wouldn't lose its mind completely, right?

Damian decided to trust Mew; he's quite satisfied with this harvest.

When Archer finishes on-site surveying and buys this area, he can relocate Team Rocket's Pokémon here.

Farewell to the adorable Mew, the three of them returned to Celadon City.

And then…

"Damian!!"

A Pallet Town boy with a Pikachu on his shoulder looks at Damian, a Misty and Brock also shocked.

But then fear returns: Damian is the Team Rocket boss!
