Seeing that the victim was still in a state of trauma, Sabena reached for a bottle of mineral water that was there and opened the lid.
As a forensic psychologist, her duties are more in the interrogation section for cases involving the emotions of the victim or offender.
Henry continued to pace back and forth in front of the victim, waiting for the victim to be ready for questioning.
The victim, a man, sipped the water Sabena had given him with trembling hands. His face looked pale. There were minor injuries on his hands and face.
"What's your name?" Henry asked, his tone slow but somewhat firm.
The victim did not immediately respond. What happened to him a few hours ago had truly traumatized him.
"Fel... Felix", Felix replied, stammering as he handed the water bottle in his hand back to Sabena.
Sebena accepted the bottle that was handed to her, then closed it and placed it on the table.
"Mr. Henry, I'll excuse myself for a moment, I want to get my handy camera from the car," Sabena asked.
Henry simply nodded in agreement. The victim named Felix was looked at again.
"What are you all doing in the mansion?" Henry asked, seriously.
Felix looked confused, his eyes kept looking around. As if he was afraid of something while hugging his cold body even though his sweat was still dripping.
Henry continued to wait patiently.
"Did you hear what I asked?" Henry asked again when his question was not answered.
Felix was still like that. He looked confused and as if he was afraid of something that was about to appear to hurt him.
A few minutes later, Sabena reappeared with a video camera and tripod.
"That, that's the one who killed," Felix replied, trembling.
"Who is that?"
There was no answer from Felix. He was still traumatized. What happened was truly shocking and made him feel unsafe. He was worried that the killer would come back to attack him.
"Did you catch that thing?" Felix replied, happily holding both of Henry's hands in front of him.
The man's question in front of him went unanswered.
Henry was surprised, but he didn't dismiss it.
Sabena, who had already set up the video camera on the tripod, started pressing the record button. She wanted to record their questioning session with the only surviving victim. That was something she always did whenever interrogated the victim or the perpetrator. From the recording she made, she could see the victim's emotions again, whether the answers given were honest or fabricated.
From the recording, she might be able to classify this case as involving criminal psychology or not, considering that tonight's case was a murder case involving the death of more than one victim. As befits his position as a forensic psychologist.
"Catch?" Besides you, is there anyone still alive?"
Felix was confused again. His face was clearly confused. Suddenly he cried in fear.
Once again Henry and Sabena looked at each other.
"I think the victim is still traumatized," Sabena said confidently.
Just a heavy sigh, Henry stood up.
"I think I want to see what's going on in the mansion. Can you interrogate him? Question him until he confesses or tells you who the killer is. That unsubstantiated excuse won't be able to defend him in court when he's charged later."
"Yes, Mr. Henry, it's my job to interrogate the emotional victim," Sabena replied, not caring.
"Anything, you can call my two assistants. You can call them using this walkie-talkie." said Henry as he took out the walkie-talkie from inside his jacket and handed it to Sabena.
Sabena took the walkie-talkie that Henry handed her.
"In that case, I'll ask for myself first," Henry said goodbye and then stepped away from the covered canopy.
A soft complaint, Sabena let out a sigh when she saw Felix's current condition. She knew the man was still in a state of trauma, coercion would only make the man more traumatized and perhaps lose direction. From the fear reflected on the man's face, she could feel that what happened to Felix was not a fluke. Her back was resting on the chair in front of Felix.
The walkie talkie was placed on the table next to him and the water bottle was placed on the same table and reached again and handed to Felix.
"Drink more and try to calm down," Sabena said.
Felix looked at Sabena for a moment before accepting the bottle of water that was handed to him. This time he gulped down a quarter of the bottle. He gulped greedily.
Sabena was startled and shocked. However, her shock was still under control. She knew that only psychological methods could be used to interrogate the man in front of her. She accepted the bottle that Felix handed her and placed it back on the table next to her.
"My name is Sabena. You can just call me sister Bena."
Sabena introduced herself and tried to make eye contact.
There was no reply from Felix who still looked confused.
"Are you okay?" Sabena asked, her tone soft.
A small notebook in her jacket was taken out along with a pen. She would write down any statements that she considered important in the small notebook.
Felix wiped away the remaining water that had seeped from his lips. He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. He looked at the LED spotlight that illuminated the closed canopy. He wanted to make sure it stayed on. There was something about light that made him phobic.
Sabena was surprised to see Felix's behavior. She also looked at the LED spotlight that illuminated the space in the canopy.
"Are you okay?"
Felix hesitantly nodded while hugging himself.
"Can we start our questions and answers?"
There was no response from Felix either verbally or non-verbally.
"Can you tell me again, what exactly happened? How did you all end up in this mansion?" Sabena asked, starting her interrogation session.
Her focus was completely on Felix. She felt that Felix was ready to tell what had really happened.
Felix looked at Sabena for a long time. He was still confused by his own emotions and beliefs. What had happened still made him feel stuck between the real world and his subconscious.
"At the mansion there is... there is... Demon! answered Felix, obviously scared.
His eyes widened as he looked around, worried that demon would appear again.
"Demon?" Sabena said, surprised. Something that was hard for her to accept.
"Yes, demon, red eyes. Tall, that kills everyone."
Sabena sighed softly, thinking that maybe Felix's emotions were still unstable, depressed and traumatized. So the man was now in a state of fear to the point of hallucinating something scary.
"Calm down Felix, calm down. Take a deep breath, then exhale slowly. You don't need to be afraid, we are here to protect you," said Sabena.
Felix took a deep breath and exhaled as the woman in front of him told him to. But his body was still trembling with fear. His restlessness and fear were still crazy. But after hearing the assurance from the woman in front of him, his fear gradually decreased.
"Don't worry. We are here to protect you from all threats. However, what we need now is evidence from you to arrest the real murderer. You don't want to be accused of being a murderer, right?" said Sabena, trying to play with psychology.
Felix looked at Sabena for a long time before shaking his head quickly. He was still suspicious of the woman in front of him. What happened a few hours ago in the dilapidated mansion still affected him and made his sense of trust in anyone challenged.
"Can you tell me again how it all started?" Sabena asked in the gentlest tone. She hoped Felix's emotions could be subdued.
"Do you still remember what happened?" Sabena asked again, trying to be diplomatic in the most subtle way.
Felix nodded hesitantly. What was around him was still considered a threat to him. However, when he was with the woman in front of him, he began to trust her.
"Can you tell me from the beginning, how did you all end up in this mansion?" Sabena repeated with a slightly different sentence.
Her hand was ready to write down all the important facts that Felix would tell.
"Last week, me and.."
Felix begins the story with lingering feelings of trauma.
