Storm's POV
I sat at my desk, surrounded by stacks of papers and financial records. The dim lighting of the office did little to alleviate the sense of unease that had been growing inside me all day. As the Alpha, I was used to being in control, but lately, everything felt off.
I rubbed my temples, trying to massage away the tension. I have been working non-stop since I took over as Alpha, trying to see if we can open new businesses in the human land.. Stars father has been helping me with that.
Just as I was about to take a break, I felt it - a sudden jolt of unease that ran through my veins. I sat up straight, my heart racing. Something was wrong, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.
I quickly mind-linked the head warrior, asking if everything was okay at the border. He replied almost immediately, saying that everything was quiet.
I tried to shake off the feeling, telling myself I was just being paranoid. But the unease lingered, growing stronger by the minute.
I mind-linked my parents, asking if everything was okay with them. They replied, saying everything was fine.
I tried my brother, and he responded with a lazy, "Hey, sis, I'm good. Just having a midnight snack... or two." I could hear a girl's giggle in the background, and I rolled my eyes. My brother, the ultimate ladies' man. I was sure he was busy "snacking" on one of the pack's queen bees.
But my amusement was short-lived. When I tried to mind-link Star and Light, there was nothing. No response.
My chest began to burn, and I felt knight, my wolf, stir inside me. I knew something was wrong.
I quickly stood up, my chair scraping against the floor. I transformed into my wolf form, knight, and sniffed the air, trying to pick up Star's scent.
Something was wrong, and I needed to find Star.
I mind-linked Star's parents, asking if Star was home. They said she had gone out for a night run.
That was when the unease turned into full-blowed panic. Star wouldn't go out without telling me, not without a good reason and besides we always have night runs together.. remember telling them you needed space knight response, fuck true!
I dashed deep into the woods to where the bond was pulling me. Knight paws pounding against the ground as I ran. I had to find Star, and I had to make sure she was okay.
As I ran, the wind whipping through my fur, I mind linked Peter to take two Warriors with him and check around the woods if there are any signs of intruder, yes Alpha he responded..
I ran as fast as I could, my paws pounding against the ground, my heart racing with fear. I had to find Star, and I had to make sure she was okay.
Suddenly, a distress mind-link from Light flashed in my mind. _Storm, we're in trouble!_ it said, before cutting off abruptly.
I felt a searing pain in my chest, like a knife had been stabbed into my heart. I stumbled, falling to the ground as a loud howl escaped my lips.
The entire pack felt it too, their howls echoing through the forest as they too felt the pain. Because Star is their Luna but they don't know it yet, So it felt like my pain instead.. I got a mind link from my mom, Storm are you okay? What is going on? why that much pain? Not me mum is star, mum Star is hurt I answered scared for the first time in my life. Mood goddess please let her be save.
I transformed back into my human form, gritting my teeth against the agony. I placed my hand on my chest, focusing my healing powers to ease the pain.
As the pain subsided, I was able to think more clearly. I got a mind link from her mom, Storm Star is hurt we felt it her father has left to go find her what is going on? she asked, sounding panicked, I don't know Anty but she will be fine, I answered and cut the link off.
I took a deep breath, focusing my powers, and teleported to Star's location.
When I arrived, I found Star lying in a pool of her own blood, her eyes closed, her breathing shallow.
I dropped to my knees beside her, panic setting in. "Star! Oh, Star, no!" I cried, using my powers to heal her wounds. Knight, can you feel light? No can't storm, I can't feel her! Mood goddess please don't take her away from me please, don't punish me for saying I will reject my mate,
As I worked, I mind-linked the warriors at the border, telling them to shut down the border and notify the pack oracles to find out who had entered the park without our knowledge, someone really has a death wish doing this! I will give them a slow and painful death. That's a promise that dark side of me agrees with.
Star's wounds were severe, but I was able to stabilize her. I scooped her up in my arms, teleporting us back to the pack hospital. I mind link her parents and mine to meet us at the park hospital.
The healers rushed to Star's side, working to save her life. I paced back and forth in the waiting room, my mind racing with worry and anger, her parents and brother entered looking so worried and scared.. her father came to my side and asked, how is she strom? What happened to our Star? Is she going to be okay? Uncle she's going to be fine. She received a stab to her stomach, her mom was now crying hard, while Liam held her tight comforting her.
How could this have happened? Who had done this to my Star? Shortly after my parents came in and we all sat waiting for the pack doctor.
Finally, the healers emerged, telling us that Star would be okay, but she and her wolf needed rest, the knife was poison with something, we going to find out luckily your healing took out the poison on time Alpha storm he said and walked away.
I let out a sigh of relief, feeling a mix of emotions. I was angry that Star had put herself in danger, but I was also grateful that she was going to be okay.
We entered Star's room, my eyes locked on her pale face. She was unconscious, but I knew take care of her, they agreed, they left me alone with my mate just like I wanted.
I sat beside her, holding her hand, waiting for her to wake up.
When she finally stirred, I felt a surge of relief. "Star," I whispered, my voice shaking with emotion.
Star's eyes fluttered open, and she looked up at me, confusion etched on her face.
"Storm?" she whispered, her voice weak.
I smiled, trying to hold back tears. "I'm here, Star. You're safe now."
Star's eyes filled with tears, and she tried to sit up, but I gently pushed her back down.
"Don't move, Star. You need to rest," I said, trying to keep my voice calm.
Star looked up at me, her eyes filled with guilt. "Storm, I'm sorry...I went to meet someone...I didn't know..."
I felt a surge of anger, but I pushed it down, trying to stay calm. "We'll talk about it later, Star. Right now, you need to rest."
Star nodded, her eyes drifting closed.
