Synopsis
Harmony Hill had one rule: Never fall for a man who could destroy her. But that rule shatters the moment Jason Smith—cold, wickedly handsome, and born with danger whispering at his heels—walks into her world with a single, ruthless sentence: “You belong to me… even if you don’t know it yet.” Jason is the CEO everyone fears. A man with shadows deeper than his smile, secrets darker than his tailored suits, and a reputation that makes even the devil hesitate. Harmony is the one woman he should have stayed away from. Sweet. Warm. Pure in ways he can’t touch without ruining. But Jason doesn’t fall in love. He obsesses. When Harmony’s past resurfaces—dragging betrayal, blood, and painful truth behind it—Jason’s obsession becomes a weapon. No one touches Harmony. No one lies to her. No one takes her away from him. Not even fate. Because Jason Smith doesn’t believe in love stories. He believes in ownership, obsession, and promises carved in bone: “Harmony… I’ll ruin the world before I ever let you go.” In a romance built on fire and secrets, they must decide: Is this love… or destruction? Or is it both?

Chapter 1 - CHAPTER ONE: COLLISION OF FATE

Harmony's POV

The universe really hated me.

That was the only explanation I had as I rushed through the lobby of Smith Enterprises, clutching my portfolio to my chest and praying—begging—that I wasn't late for the interview.

"Great, Harmony," I muttered under my breath. "Trip on your first day, and maybe break your neck for extra drama."

I pushed through the revolving glass doors—

And slammed straight into a wall.

Or at least, something that felt like a wall.

My documents flew everywhere. My heel twisted. My heart dropped.

"Oh no, oh— I'm so sorry—!"

I knelt down to gather the papers, but a large hand reached them first—long fingers, veined and strong.

"You're in a hurry," a cold, controlled voice said above me.

"And reckless."

I froze.

Slowly, I looked up…

And met the eyes of the most dangerously beautiful man I had ever seen.

Tall.

Powerful.

Suit tailored like sin.

Eyes sharp enough to slice through my excuses.

Jason Smith.

My blood went cold.

The CEO.

The man I was supposed to impress today.

And I had just crashed into him like a clumsy toddler.

Great. Wonderful. Just bury me alive.

"I—I didn't see you," I stammered.

"That much is obvious." His jaw tightened. "Most people look where they're going."

Heat surged to my cheeks. Embarrassment. Anger. A strange feeling I didn't want to name.

"Well… most people don't stand right in front of a doorway like a statue," I shot back before I could stop myself.

His brows lifted. The air tightened between us.

Oh no.

Why did I say that?

Why do I talk??

Instead of snapping, he stepped closer—too close. His presence swallowed the air, his cologne dark and intoxicating.

"Are you always this mouthy," he murmured, "or is today special?"

My breath hitched.

I felt his gaze travel over me—intense, assessing—like he was memorizing every flaw… and every weakness.

"I'm not mouthy," I said quietly. "Just… frustrated."

He handed me the last paper, his fingers brushing mine.

"Frustrated? With me?"

His voice dropped, dangerously soft.

"What a bold thing to admit."

"I didn't admit anything."

A small smirk touched his lips—cold, knowing.

"You didn't have to."

He straightened, looking down at me with the confidence of a man who always controlled the room.

The kind of man who wasn't used to being challenged.

I swallowed hard. I needed to leave. I needed to run. I needed to—

"Name," he said suddenly.

"Harmony. Harmony Hill."

His eyes flickered with something sharp. Too sharp.

"You're here for the position in my department."

My heart pounded. "Y-yes."

He stepped even closer.

His voice brushed my ear like a threat… or a promise.

"Then here's your first lesson, Miss Hill."

His gaze pinned me to the spot.

"When you walk into my company, don't collide with the one man who runs it."

I blinked.

Wait. Did he just—

"And if you insist on arguing with me," he added, eyes darkening, "do it somewhere private."

His hand brushed my waist as he stepped past me—barely a touch, but enough to send every nerve in my body into chaos.

"Follow me," he said, walking toward the elevator without looking back.

"We're having your interview now."

All I could do was stare at his back… and wonder why my heart was beating so fast.

And why his voice felt like danger wrapped in silk.
