Chapter 205 - Friendly Sisters

Nighttime

Inside Bonanus's Room

After changing into her pajamas and finishing her nightly routine, Bonanus sat quietly on the bed, brushing her hair.

Don't ask why she was brushing her hair before bed. The answer was simple: she had nothing better to do.

Yanfei had returned very late tonight. If not for the news that another Yaksha had come back, which piqued her curiosity, she probably would have stayed out all night.

At first, she thought it was a joke. But when she actually saw Indarias, Yanfei was completely stunned.

She started to question her life choices. Were all those books and records just lies? How did the Yakshas keep returning one after another?

It was absolutely absurd!

But after the initial shock, Yanfei quickly accepted the fact.

Indarias and Yanfei were both lively by nature, so they became fast friends. It was probably the friendship between two Pyro users.

"Ugh, my lower back hurts." Bonanus rubbed her back, frowning slightly.

Probably from all that shopping earlier. It wasn't serious—nothing that would keep her from getting up.

She had to admit, that crazy shopping spree had felt amazing.

If only she could do that in her previous world. But that was just a dream.

She did feel a little sorry for Childe. When he saw that bill several meters long, he would probably question his life choices.

Not that it mattered. Childe had plenty of money, backed by Pantalone's wealth. To him, this was pocket change.

"Ah, back to being a working girl starting tomorrow."

Bonanus muttered to herself. She lay back down and placed her brush on the bedside table, letting out a soft sigh.

Why the sigh? Because her laziness was kicking in again. As a woman who just wanted to slack off, she felt a little "overwhelmed."

Just as her slacker mindset was reaching its peak, the door opened. Indarias walked in, drying her hair with Pyro energy.

Judging by her appearance, she had just come back from a bath.

"What's wrong, Bonanus?"

The moment she stepped in, she saw a lifeless figure rolling around on the bed. She couldn't help but laugh.

"Nothing. Just suddenly feeling lazy. You know, the urge to slack off." Bonanus said casually.

"Can't do that. We have our duties to fulfill. Even if it's peacetime, we can't let our guard down."

Indarias tied her long hair into a ponytail and lay on her side, propping her head up with her hand, smiling.

"I know, I know." Bonanus pouted dismissively. She would still slack off when she wanted to, and work when she had to.

"Anyway, enough about me. How did you feel today, Indarias?"

Bonanus turned to face her sister, resting her head on her big paw, her tone full of anticipation.

"I'm very happy. It's been so long since I've felt this relaxed. And what's even more surprising is that I'm still alive to see my four family members again."

As she spoke, Indarias's smile was impossible to contain. She was truly happy. She loved everything about this place, this peaceful era.

"Hehe, there are still plenty of fun things you haven't experienced yet! Especially Lantern Rite. That's a lively one—a once-a-year festival."

"Bright lights, all kinds of events, and handmade Xiao lanterns. Absolutely beautiful."

"Really? I'm looking forward to it!" Indarias chuckled and nodded. There would be plenty of time to experience everything here. Adepti had all the time in the world.

"Indarias, can I sleep while hugging you?" Seeing the anticipation on her sister's face, Bonanus nodded and changed the subject with a mischievous grin.

"Hmm? Sure." Indarias agreed naturally. She was a little curious why Bonanus would ask that.

Getting a positive response, Bonanus immediately lunged forward and wrapped her arms around Indarias. She had been wanting to try out an Indarias-brand plushie for a while.

Indarias had a pleasant, fresh scent. Her body was soft, and she was more generously endowed than Yanfei.

Bonanus: Hehe!

Bonanus buried her face in the softness. It was perfect for a pillow!

"Hey, hey, what are you doing?" Indarias said, amused. Bonanus's actions tickled her.

She didn't mind, though. They were sisters.

It was probably Bosacius's fault—he must have taught Bonanus these things. Aside from him, Indarias couldn't think of anyone else who would have influenced her like this.

But this version of Bonanus was adorable. Cute and cuddly. It made her want to tease her.

"Bonanus, that kind of behavior can be quite 'dangerous,' you know." Indarias ruffled her hair with a helpless chuckle.

"How so?" Bonanus looked up curiously. It was just a hug between sisters. How could that be dangerous?

"Oh? Let me show you." Indarias sat up, a mysterious smile spreading across her face.

Her smile looked harmless, but Bonanus couldn't help but shiver.

Why... did Indarias suddenly seem so terrifying? She felt like she was about to be devoured by a tiger.

"Um... is it too late to back out?" Bonanus swallowed nervously, looking like a trapped rabbit.

"Guess." Indarias suddenly spoke in a sultry, teasing voice.

Before Bonanus could react, Indarias pounced on her, pinning her down instantly.

"Wait, wait! Indarias! Let's talk this out!" Bonanus suddenly felt nervous. Her big paws were pinned—she couldn't escape.

Indarias's actions reminded her of how she used to tease Yanfei. Now the tables had turned!

"Don't think I don't know what you were up to." Indarias licked her lips with a knowing look.

Caught red-handed, Bonanus gave an awkward smile. She tried to apologize, but Indarias wasn't giving her another chance.

"No! I'm sorry! Indarias, have mercy!"

Late at night, Bonanus lay on her soft bed with a look of utter defeat. Suddenly, she felt so tired.

At that moment, she finally understood what Yanfei felt like when she was being teased.

Nothing too outrageous—just a little tickling. But it was enough to make Bonanus regret everything.

...

The Next Morning

Early Dawn

Bonanus slowly opened her eyes, her body aching and weak. She rubbed her groggy head, looking a little lost.

Glancing at Indarias still sound asleep beside her, she couldn't help but shiver. Indarias had been terrifying last night.

She made a decision: no matter what happened in the future, she would never pull anything like that on Indarias again.

She was no match for her.

Indarias might seem cute and lively on the outside, but she was a true master of teasing. Compared to her, Bonanus was just a chick facing an eagle.

Even though she had been tormented a bit, she still gained something from it—quite a bit of karmic debt from Indarias.

Absorbing it this way was convenient. No fighting, no effort. The only downside was how boring it could be.

She shook her head and chuckled softly.

She forced herself to sit up. She didn't want to wake Indarias. The poor girl had just come back from war and needed rest. She wouldn't disturb her.

With that thought, Bonanus carefully pulled the covers over Indarias, stood up quietly, and left the room to wash up.

A new day had begun—full of surprises and the unknown.
