Looking at his status window, Raven sighed.

It's been more than 2 hours since he got out of the Tutorial area, and since then, he has been resting in a forest. Eating the rabbit meat he received from killing the rabbit in the Tutorial area.

"Anyway, quest window!" He called out.

[System Quest:

Quest completed: 1

Current Quest: Reach level 5

Time limit: 10 days.

Rewards: Class option.]

"Well then.... I rested enough for now. I can finally think well again, so there's no reason for me to stay still anymore." Raven said, standing up and moving out to the plain near the forest he was in.

As he moved, he summoned his window again and checked the description of his skills.

[Appraisal — allows you to see minor information about your target.]

[Strangle — when wrapping another being's neck, be it an animal, monster, or human, your grip will increase significantly, allowing you to choke them to death at a much faster pace.]

"That's what I get for touching everything without knowing anything....." He mused, remembering how he didn't get to use the Tutorial weapon, since he touched the rabbit before calling up the status window.

"Still, this quest should be easy to do now. I'm already near level 4. So I just need to earn ten points to level up and do the rest of it." Seeing the open area get closer, Raven increased his pace or movement.

"And based on the exp requirements I have right now. The next one would need around 800 points. Let's just hope it's easy to earn a large bulk of exp."

Leaving the forest and entering the plain, he looked at the horizon and said: "It should be around 11 by now. I still have seven hours to go before sunset."

Saying so, he started running around the plain field looking for any living creatures he could potentially obtain exp from, while constantly using his appraisal skill every five seconds.

After a minute of exploring the plains, a panel appeared:

[Skill: Appraisal.

Monster: Giant hornet.

Level: 14.

Skills: Stinger, Paralysis venom.]

"A monster!" Raven exclaimed, looking at the foot-sized hornet, attacking the worker bees in a flower field.

When suddenly:

[System Quest:

Instant quest: Kill the hornet that's attacking the worker bee.

Rewards: Exp, 10% of a quest.]

"What....? 10% of a quest? The hell does that mean?" Raven questioned, reading the system before him.

Seeing how no one would answer his question, he pulled out the small sword from his waist and examined it.

The sword blade and handle were both at least a foot in size, giving him a good group within them.

Swinging it up and down, he felt it was perfect in weight, not like he knew if it was.

Checking his status window once again to check his stats one last time, Raven went around the flower field, to catch the hornet off guard and kill it in one strike.

"The quest only wants me to kill the hornet, it doesn't tell me I have to save the worker bee at all." He muttered, circling the area.

As he was right in front of the hornet's back, Raven slowly sneaked behind it, keeping his breathing stable, and making sure his steps wouldn't make a noise.

One mistake and it will be him, who will die here.

Two meters in, he pointed the blade tip into the hornet's lower body, and with a single thrust, the hornet shrieked in pain from his attack.

As the hornet, started fidgeting from the intense pain from Raven's attack, it looked back and glared into his eyes, ready to attack back.

Before the hornet even moved a muscle, Raven hurled the blade deeper within its body and slashed it down, killing it.

[Congratulations! You have completed the quest.

You have leveled up!

You have obtained 10% of a quest.]

"Level.... 4. One more to go and I'll get a class." He muttered, looking for the next one.

Leaving the worker bees to get back on their feet, Raven explored the area more, looking for more potential monsters to hunt down.

Keeping a low profile, making sure it would be him who would get the first look at them, not the monster finding him first.

As he went around, he recalled the hornet before and remembered how his Appraisal skill said it had two skills; Stinger and paralysis poison.

"Can I..... Take that stinger on its body and use it for my own? And even coat the poison in this blade of mine?"

Having this thought, Raven sharply turned around to where its corpse should have been and made his way back.

Looking at the hornet corpse, he slowly cut its lower body, taking out the stinger within it, along with the tiny venom sack.

[A new skill is in development.]

He looked at the panel before moving once again to hunt more monsters.

It didn't take long for him to find another monster to hunt, two minutes after leaving the hornet body, he found another one, feasting on a rabbit body.

Just like before, Raven sneaked behind it to kill it in one go, looting the stinger and venom sack from its body.

Looking at the rabbit body that was being eaten by it, he called up his inventory space and looked for anything to use on it.

"The slots are filled with something, the Tutorial weapon I should have used, the sacrificial lamb meats I have from killing 70 of them, and finally a treasure box?"

Taking out the treasure box, Raven quickly opened it and received another system panel:

[You have opened your treasure box:

You will now receive the following items:

1 shovel, 1 pot, 1 pan, 1 ladle, 1 knife, 1 water filter can, 1 salt, pepper, and garlic seasoning container, 1 towel, 3 underpants, pants, shirt, 10 meters rope, and flint and steel.]

[You may freely summon the following items from the system, allowing you to make use of your inventory space freely without them clogging up your space.]

"This should be the rest of the rewards, the system was talking about earlier." He said, summoning the shovel from the system.

Using the shovel to dig a grave for the rabbit, he made his way to find more monsters once again after burying it.

Now with a shovel with him, he was more confident in fighting, using the shovel as a blunt weapon, while keeping his sword for his main damage dealer weopon.

Hours go by, Raven fought with multiple hornets within the plains, harvesting what he wanted from them, and earning exp to level up.

Before he knew it, night came.

Sitting around the tiny campfire he made, Raven contemplated his situation.

Just this morning, he was simply planning to go to his part-time job, and before he knew it he was sent into another world without his consent.

Though the early part was terrifying, after being trapped inside the Tutorial area for over two hours, fearing he would be stuck there for the rest of his life.

Having to experience the same thing that the MC went through from the series he had read, so far everything was going well.

But right now, he's here in his tiny camp, roasting the rabbit meat a little bit more to fit his taste, and eating well, not having to worry about his bills on Earth.

"Sigh..... Life is good." He murmurs, taking a bite off the meat.

Checking his pile of wood, which he had collected earlier, making sure he had enough to use as fuel for the entire night, he wondered how far the closest town was.

"Wonder what happened to the other heroes?" He questioned, from what he heard from that voice this morning, that the people chosen can be of any age, gender, or even situation.

Although he couldn't care less about people older or near his age, he felt uncomfortable with the idea of people below the age of 13 being chosen by this.

"Well.... Not like I can do much right now. My main goal for now is to reach level 5 and gain a class that will help me." He told himself, hyping his motivation to complete it tomorrow.

Summoning his status window, he checked his progress on his exp requirements to level up:

"Huh...?" Raven said in confusion, looking at the new indication of his experience points requirement.

"Now that I think about it..... I stopped receiving a notification for the experience I obtained, when killing a monster."

Seeing how he can't tell how much experience he'll receive and need from here on out.

Raven hurried up with eating the rabbit meat he had this morning, and lay down in his makeshift bed, which was simply some broken-down branches with leaves, with the towel he received from the system on top of them.

Sitting up to throw more wood in the fire, he closed his eyes once again and slept his first night in this world.

Although the night was cold and the fear of a monster attacking him while asleep was high, the flickering sound of the woods burning, made his eyes close shut, leaving the worries he had.
