Synopsis
What does a scumbag who died for the only thing he ever loved do when he's reborn as the world's most pathetic hero-wannabe, Izuku Midoriya? Armed with nothing but a sarcastic Gacha system that mocks his every move, he plays the part. After all, in a world of heroes, becoming the Symbol of Peace isn't a calling. It's just the biggest hustle of them all.

Chapter 1 - READ THIS!

Hey there.

Riki here. The guy behind the keyboard.

Before you dive into this mess, I wanted to drop some notes. Call it a disclaimer. Call it a warning label. Call it me covering my ass before the comment section turns into a warzone.

First things first. Credit where credit is due.

The Gacha system in this story? The chaotic, rage-inducing, dopamine-drip slot machine that will make you want to throw your phone at the wall? That whole concept was heavily inspired by Bronz_Deck's chaos gacha stories. If you want more of that sweet, sweet RNG suffering, go check out their profile. Seriously. Do it. I'll wait.

Done? Good.

Now, let's talk about this particular universe.

In my version of MHA, UA is a university. Not a high school. The characters are legal adults. Why? Because I wanted the freedom to explore more mature themes without having to dance around certain...complications. Is this a lazy excuse to write spicier content? Maybe. Am I going to pretend otherwise? Absolutely not. You came here knowing what kind of story this is. Don't act surprised when it delivers.

Alright. Now for the fun part.

The Red Flags.

Consider this section your "turn back now if you can't handle it" sign. I'm not going to hold your hand through the story if something rubs you the wrong way. Life's too short, and my inbox is already full.

One. The System, Arcan, is a sarcastic little shit. Especially at the beginning. She doesn't coddle the protagonist. She doesn't worship the ground he walks on. She will mock him. She will berate him. She will actively make his life harder because she thinks it's funny. If you want a submissive, helpful AI waifu who exists only to stroke the MC's ego, you're reading the wrong book.

Two. The UA students in this story are not carbon copies of their canon selves. Some of them are stronger. Some of them have different personalities. Some of them have been through experiences that changed who they are. This is an alternate universe. The word "alternate" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there. If you're going to write a paragraph-long comment about how "Hagakure would never do that in canon" , save your energy.

Three. Izuku is going to lose fights. Izuku is going to make bad decisions. Izuku is going to look like an idiot sometimes because, surprise, he's human. Or at least he's inhabiting a human body. The point is that this isn't a power fantasy where the protagonist steamrolls every obstacle through the sheer force of being the main character. He will struggle. He will fail. He will face consequences for his actions.

Also, and this is important: do not insert yourself into Izuku's shoes. This is his story, not yours. If he does something you wouldn't do, that's intentional. He's his own character with his own flaws and his own moral compass (or lack thereof). Don't project onto him and then get mad when he doesn't act like your personal wish-fulfillment vehicle.

Four. There are characters from other series in this story. Characters that I felt would fit naturally into the MHA world. Maybe you'll recognize them. Maybe you won't. Either way, they're here, and they're staying. If crossover elements make you break out in hives, I recommend finding a different story. There are thousands of them out there.

Five. Here's the truth that most authors won't admit publicly: I write these stories for myself first.

These fanfics are my training ground. I use them to experiment with writing styles, to get the creative juices flowing, to test out ideas that might eventually make it into my original novels. I also turn them into audiobooks for my own listening pleasure because sometimes I just want to hear my own nonsense read back to me in a dramatic voice.

If you find enjoyment in what I write? Genuinely, that's awesome. I'm glad the thing I made for myself resonated with someone else. That's the best-case scenario.

If you don't? If you hate everything about this story and think I'm a terrible writer who should be banned from the internet?

Respectfully? I don't give a fuck.

This story is not for you. It was never for you. It was for me. You're just along for the ride, and I'm not changing course because some stranger on the internet thinks I should write differently.

Six. The harem elements in this story will occasionally include yuri. Girl-on-girl action. Specifically in threesome or group settings.

If that's not your thing, cool. No judgment. You have two options: skip those scenes when they come up, or find a different story entirely. What you should NOT do is read those scenes anyway and then complain about them in the comments. That's clown behavior, and I reserve the right to mock you publicly if you do it.

There are thousands of fanfics on this site. Go find one that matches your exact preferences. I'm not running a made-to-order service here.

So.

If you've read all of this and you're still here? If none of the above made you close this tab in disgust?

Welcome.

Grab a seat. Grab a drink. Maybe grab a stress ball for when the Gacha screws you over (through Izuku, obviously, but you'll feel it).

I hope you enjoy the ride. It's going to be messy. It's going to be chaotic. It's going to be morally questionable at best and ethically bankrupt at worst.

But hey.

That's the point.

If not? If you get five chapters in and decide this isn't for you after all?

No hard feelings. Seriously. Not every story is for every reader. That's just how it works. Close the tab, move on with your life, and forget this ever existed.

Oh, one more thing.

My update schedule is "whenever I feel like it." Don't ask when the next chapter is coming. Don't beg for faster updates. The answer is always the same: it'll be done when it's done.

Now scroll down and start reading already. You've wasted enough time on this author's note.
