I'm Rewriting the Ending, Starting with Him

I knew the story. I knew the characters. And I definitely knew how it was supposed to end. So when I woke up inside it, I made a simple plan— rewrite the ending. I wasn’t trying to steal the spotlight. I wasn’t trying to replace the female lead. I only wanted to save my favorite character. Unfortunately, the story had other ideas. The plot keeps changing, the future refuses to follow the script, and the person I was never meant to get involved with is suddenly everywhere. One small change turns into a disaster, and now the ending I knew doesn’t exist anymore. If the story won’t follow its own rules, then I won’t either. I’m rewriting the ending— starting with him.
