Chapter 28 - Chapter 27 : A New Ally

Sophia, Prince Henry, and Lady Emily made their way back to the palace, their minds racing with plans to take down the Queen. As they reached the entrance, a figure emerged from the shadows.

"Sophia, wait," the figure said, his voice low and familiar.

Sophia's eyes widened as she recognized the voice. "James?" she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

James, a former palace guard, had been a trusted ally of Sophia's since the beginning of her investigation into the palace secrets. He had been instrumental in helping her uncover the truth about Lord Thomas's plans.

"I've been watching you," James said, his eyes scanning the surroundings. "I know what you're planning, and I want to help."

Prince Henry's eyes narrowed. "How did you know?" he asked, his voice suspicious.

James smiled wily. "I have my sources, Your Highness. But I assure you, I'm on your side. I've been working undercover, gathering evidence against the Queen and Lord Thomas."

Sophia's eyes widened as she realized the implications. "You mean you're working with us?" she asked, her voice filled with excitement.

James nodded. "I've been working with a group of trusted allies, gathering evidence and building a case against the Queen. We have proof of her involvement in the plot to destroy you, Your Highness, and we're ready to take her down."

Lady Emily's eyes sparkled with excitement. "This changes everything," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "With James's evidence, we can take the Queen down once and for all."

Prince Henry's face was set in a determined expression. "Let's do it," he said, his voice firm. "Let's take down the Queen and bring her to justice."

As they began to discuss their plan, Sophia felt a sense of hope she hadn't felt in weeks. With James on their side, they had a real chance of taking down the Queen and bringing peace to the palace.

But just as they were about to finalize their plan, Sophia's phone buzzed in her pocket. She pulled it out, her eyes scanning the screen.

"It's a message from an unknown sender," she said, her voice hesitant. "It says, 'Meet me at the old windmill at midnight if you want to know the truth about the Queen's past'."

James's eyes narrowed. "I don't think you should go," he said, his voice serious. "It's a trap, I'm sure of it."

But Sophia's curiosity was piqued. What secrets lay hidden in the Queen's past? She had to know.

"I'll go," she said, her voice firm. "I'll meet the sender and see what they have to say."

Prince Henry's eyes flashed with concern. "I'll go with you," he said, his voice protective.

But Sophia shook her head. "No, Henry, it's too risky. I'll go alone."

As she turned to leave, James's voice stopped her. "Sophia, be careful," he said, his voice low and urgent. "We don't know what we're up against."

Sophia nodded, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew she was taking a risk, but she had to know the truth.
