Sophia, Prince Henry, and Alexander crouched in the shadows, their eyes fixed on the entrance to the throne room. The Queen sat on her throne, a triumphant smile spreading across her face as she gazed at the dignitaries gathered before her.
"...and with this treaty, our two nations will be united in a bond of mutual prosperity and defense," she declared, her voice dripping with sweetness.
Sophia's eyes narrowed. She could see the trap the Queen was laying, and she knew they had to act fast.
Alexander gave a subtle nod, and the three of them slipped into the throne room, making their way quietly to the front of the room.
The Queen's eyes flashed with surprise, but she quickly regained her composure. "Ah, Prince Henry," she said, her voice dripping with venom. "How...predictable of you to try and ruin this moment."
Prince Henry stepped forward, his shoulders back and his head held high. "I won't let you do this, Mother," he said, his voice firm. "This treaty is a betrayal of everything our kingdom stands for."
The Queen's smile grew wider. "You are no son of mine," she spat, her eyes blazing with fury. "You are a foolish, weak boy who knows nothing of the game of power."
Sophia stepped forward, her eyes locked on the Queen's. "You're wrong," she said, her voice steady. "Prince Henry is a true leader, and he will not let you destroy this kingdom."
The Queen's gaze turned to Sophia, and her expression turned calculating. "Ah, Sophia," she said, her voice purr-like. "I should have known you'd be involved in this. You're just as foolish as Prince Henry, thinking you can defeat me."
The dignitaries began to murmur, sensing the tension in the room. The Queen's eyes flashed with anger, and she raised her voice. "Silence! I will not be challenged by these...children."
The room fell silent, and Sophia knew they had to act fast. She glanced at Alexander, who gave a subtle nod. It was time.
To be continued...
