The Queen's words hung in the air, a challenge to the very fabric of the kingdom. Sophia, Prince Henry, and Alexander stood frozen, their eyes locked on the Queen as she savored the moment.
But Sophia was not one to back down. She took a step forward, her voice steady. "Your Majesty, you're not thinking of the people. You're thinking of yourself."
The Queen's gaze turned to Sophia, her eyes narrowing. "You know nothing of what I think, child," she spat. "I have done what was necessary to protect this kingdom, to ensure its prosperity."
Prince Henry stepped forward, his face white with anger. "At what cost, Mother? The cost of our family's honor? The cost of our people's trust?"
The Queen's expression didn't waver. "The cost is nothing compared to the benefits. And you, Prince Henry, are just a foolish boy who doesn't understand the game."
Alexander stepped forward, his eyes locked on the Queen's. "I think the people will understand, Your Majesty," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Especially when they find out about the secret accounts, the bribes, and the treason."
The Queen's face paled, and for a moment, Sophia thought she saw a flicker of fear in her eyes. But it was quickly replaced by a mask of anger.
"Arrest them!" she shouted, her voice echoing through the throne room.
The guards moved forward, their faces impassive, but Sophia could see the hesitation in their eyes. Some of them, she realized, didn't want to do this.
Prince Henry took a step back, his eyes scanning the room. "It's over, Mother," he said, his voice firm. "Your reign is over."
The Queen's face twisted with rage, and she lunged forward, her hands grasping for Prince Henry's throat.
The room erupted into chaos, with guards and dignitaries shouting and screaming. Sophia and Alexander rushed forward, trying to intervene, but they were too late.
The Queen's hands closed around Prince Henry's throat, and Sophia heard the sound of fabric tearing as the Queen's crown fell to the ground.
