The Queen's eyes blazed with fury as she stood on the balcony of her chambers, overlooking the palace courtyard below. The sun was setting, casting a golden glow over the scene, but she didn't notice. Her mind was focused on one thing: Sophia.
The girl who had ruined everything. The girl who had stolen the affections of her son, and now threatened to usurp her throne.
The Queen's hands clenched into fists as she thought of Sophia's smug face, her innocent eyes. She had underestimated the girl before, but she wouldn't make that mistake again.
"I will not be defeated," she whispered to herself, her voice barely audible over the sound of the wind. "I will not be drowned by a nobody like Sophia."
As she stood there, a knock sounded at the door, and one of her loyal guards entered.
"Your Majesty, the supporters are growing restless," he said, his voice low. "They demand to know what's being done to retrieve Sophia."
The Queen's gaze snapped back to the present, and she smiled, a cold, calculating smile.
"Tell them to stand ready," she said, her voice dripping with venom. "I have a plan. A plan to crush Sophia and anyone who dares to stand in my way."
The guard nodded, his face expressionless, and departed, leaving the Queen to her thoughts.
She knew she had to act fast. The palace was divided, and the people were growing uneasy. But she had one last trick up her sleeve.
"I will show them what it means to cross me," she whispered, her eyes glinning with determination. "I will show them what it means to be a true Queen."
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting the palace in darkness, the Queen began to plot her next move. She would stop at nothing to ensure her reign, and Sophia would be the first to fall.
To be continued...
