The teeth in its jaws loosened and fell out—then new ones grew in, sharper and gleaming with a deadly chill.
Its claws darkened to a pitch-black hue, radiating cold light.
A layer of black energy swept across its skin, followed by an invisible pulse that rippled outward.
The Raptorex suddenly stood up, its massive tail slamming down against the ground.
Boom!
The entire yard quaked violently. A crack, a hand's width wide and over ten meters long, split open across the earth.
The whole inn shook.
"Earthquake!"
"Run! Forget the pants—save your life first!"
"Ahhh!"
Screams erupted from every room in the building.
Men and women—some clothed, some half-dressed—rushed out into the streets, creating quite the spectacle.
The innkeeper, a plump middle-aged man with two short drooping mustaches and a bundle of brown hair tied at the back, stared in despair at the wrecked courtyard.
"Oh no, my inn!"
Mari's small beady eyes filled with tears as he looked at the huge crack in the ground. His chubby hands trembled uncontrollably.
"Roar—!"
Thud! Thud!
The Raptorex turned around, its aura bursting forth with primal ferocity. Its dragon-like eyes gleamed coldly, and its once grayish-blue skin had now transformed into a bronze hue.
"Ah—!"
Mari screamed and fell flat on the ground, tears freezing in his eyes as terror sealed his throat.
Tap… tap… tap…
Just then, the sound of footsteps approached.
Mari looked up and saw the dinosaur's master standing behind him. Relief washed over his face, and he hurried to stand, hiding behind Jiang Qize like a frightened child.
Jiang Qize ignored him, his focus fixed on the Raptorex.
