Chapter 114: The Dark Lord is No More

"What is this?..." Draco Malfoy stared in confusion at the scene.

His precious manor was in shambles. Two massive trees had appeared out of nowhere and seemed to be hugging the remnants of the property.

He found his mother being grabbed by one of the two individuals who had just attacked them in the cabin, while the other one, whom he had recognized as Harry Potter, was staring at him.

Snape collapsed on the ground the moment Draco let go of him.

"Draco, Severus!" Lady Malfoy called for them, but was unable to move, thanks to Morgan keeping a tight grip on her.

"Mother! You bastards!" He reached for his wand and pointed it at Morgan.

"Ahrggg!" Before he could fire, something hit his right hand.

Draco saw his fingers bending in an impossible manner. His bone broke, and his wand was reduced to splinters. The boy let out a bloodcurdling scream, knelt down, and clutched his hand.

Snape saw this happening but was in no shape to help the boy. He had a dozen broken bones and no wand. He could only glare at Harry and Morgan.

"There is no need for more violence, young Malfoy. This war that Mister Voldemort started has just been concluded," Harry explained calmly.

"Concluded?" Snape stared intently at Harry as if trying to process what he had just said.

It was then that he spotted a pile of corpses nearby, all wearing black cloaks and white masks, his brothers-at-arms and companions, who had been here before he left for this mission. All of them were dead.

"Yes, concluded, Professor Snape," Harry added. "As you can see, your friends have all passed away. And your Dark Lord has suffered the same fate."

"The Dark Lord is dead?!" Draco immediately reacted. "Impossible!"

"Do you see him anywhere, boy?" Morgan scoffed. "We destroyed his hideout and killed his men. Would we be standing here if he were still alive?"

They all knew the answer to that. No…

Voldemort would never remain quiet after an affront like that, which meant that he was either dead or he had run away, something equally hard to believe.

"Believe what you want. Feel free to look for him if you wish to. You won't find him." Harry made a gesture to Morgan. "You can let Lady Malfoy go."

"Are you sure? Those three are the only remaining followers of that man," Morgan said, almost insinuating whether they should leave them alive after all.

"Yes, it's fine. I trust they won't give us any trouble. And if they do…" Harry let the threat hang in the air.

"Fine." Morgan released Narcissa, and she quickly ran to her son's side.

Harry approached Snape. "Can I trust that you will inform Mister Dumbledore of what happened here? It would save me the effort."

Snape appeared to be unable to speak, so he merely nodded.

"Good. Then we are done here. Morgan, let's go." Harry disappeared with a loud pop, and Morgan followed him soon after, leaving the confused, scared, and injured Professor Snape behind, as well as the two remaining Malfoys.

A few hours later, Harry saw an owl fly into the shop and leave a letter in front of him.

"Urgg… what does he want now? I'm tired…" Harry groaned.

Morgan walked by him. "He probably wants to understand exactly what happened to the Dark Lord."

"I can't give him all the details. It would defeat the purpose of sealing Voldemort away in a secret cave," Harry pointed out.

"Then don't give him all the details. Just explain to the old wizard that you used some powerful sealing curse and trapped that man in a place he can't escape...not even with the help of his soul containers."

Harry glanced at her. "I thought you didn't like the old Headmaster."

"I don't care for him or the rest of the folk at the Ministry of Magic. But I can understand his concerns, that is all. This Dark Lord has terrorized the country for almost two decades. He wants to know that everything is fine now," Morgan explained.

Harry sighed. "Can't argue with you now, can I?"

Morgan had a satisfied grin on her face. "You know I'm usually right. Go see Dumbledore and explain the situation properly. Then you can rest."

Harry nodded and picked up the letter, giving it a quick read. "Very well." He stood up from the couch. "I won't take long."

He went through the window of the Headmaster's office and landed near the middle of the room.

"I wasn't sure if you were going to respond to my call… or how long it would take you," Dumbledore said while watching him from his chair.

"Morgan convinced me to come. She said that you deserved a proper explanation," Harry said.

"Morgan… you mean Madam Yafel? You have called her Morgan before," Dumbledore said.

"That's because it's her name." Harry sat down in a chair and observed the old Headmaster as he finally managed to work out the identity of the woman everyone feared.

"Morgan Le Fay, of course… it all makes sense now. If you truly are… Him, then… but she is a vampire. I never heard that in the old legends."

"She wasn't one back then," Harry said. "But forget about Morgan, I did not come here to talk about her. You wish to know about the fate of Mister Voldemort."

"Well, yes. I would very much like that," said Dumbledore. "Poor Severus was too hurt and tired to offer much of an explanation, and it didn't seem that he even knew any details."

"I suppose he did not." Harry glanced at the Headmaster. "Pay attention, Mister Dumbledore, because I will only explain it once."
