Chapter 16 - The Lazy Prince - Episode 16 - The Void

It was already night.

The events of the past few days had already spread to all kingdoms, empires, and even unknown lands, and the entire world had been plunged into brief turmoil.

Meanwhile, the people of the kingdom had already fallen into a deep sleep. Likewise, the events of the past few days were too much for them; they all needed a good night's sleep to relax.

Shun lay on the roof of the palace, watching the three moons of different colors hanging in the sky.

Due to the awakening of the spirits two days ago, his physique, mind, and spirit had undergone great changes, one could even say he had transformed into something entirely different. The three beings at the pinnacle of existence and Shun's own characteristics had merged, creating a completely evolved, brand-new being.

Initially, Shun could retain his normal consciousness and memory; the memories and consciousness of the other three beings had not fully integrated into his own. But as time passed, the memories and consciousness gradually began to merge completely with Shun's own, completely changing his temperament.

The reason the three beings wanted to fuse themselves and be reborn was simple: they wanted to become stronger. This was their sole and ultimate goal. But as time passed and they grew stronger, they began to feel that everything seemed meaningless. Just as everything has a beginning, everything also has an end.

Eventually, the three beings surpassed everything and became the most powerful beings, but they stopped there and realized that... there was nothing before them, pure emptiness...

This emptiness was terrifying. So terrifying that these three beings, who had lived for millions, perhaps billions of years, felt fear to their very core.

This fear was the fear of the end. This emptiness represented their end; they could not become stronger, they could not advance any further, no matter how far they advanced, it was all in vain, they could not take any more steps, whatever they did, nothing had any meaning!

They could become stronger, learn more, create more techniques, destroy stars, plunge universes into chaos, but nothing would have any meaning!

This feeling of emptiness completely crushed the hearts and souls of these three beings. The three beings, possessing infinite will and power, had fallen into a state of complete apathy. In the midst of eternity, silently, alone, utterly lonely...

Shun silently absorbed these memories, understanding, even feeling, their moods. This mood was overwhelming, so overwhelming that he wanted to die right then! If only someone could come and stab him to death, he could die happily.

At that moment, complete indifference enveloped Shun. Endless despair began to spread from Shun himself to his surroundings... First the kingdom, then the empire, then the entire continent, then the entire world, and finally the entire universe was enveloped in this aura of hopelessness.

Every being with a will in this universe was currently mired in deep despair, a few words echoing in everyone's minds—Who am I? What am I doing? What is the meaning of my life? What is the meaning of my empowerment?

Shun, without realizing it, had already fallen into a state of profound despair and apathy; he was now completely lost, staring blankly at the sky, not knowing what to do.

Suddenly, a deep ringing sound came from his soul, affecting all his willpower, and the deep despair and apathy instantly lessened, and finally his consciousness somewhat cleared! At that moment, he hastily tried to seal the great fear that his mind and soul had brought. It seemed the three beings should have foreseen this situation long ago; they had even made some preparations for it.

After forcibly sealing these feelings and the dark parts of his mind for a few hours, he felt much more at ease. Now, as he thought about those feelings, cold sweat began to run down his back; what a profound feeling of despair!

Shun finally understood why the beings at the pinnacle of existence he had seen in novels had fallen into a state of complete apathy. Although this kind of despair was far greater than that of the beings in those novellas, he finally understood.

After lying comfortably for a while longer, his mind had stabilized, but no matter how hard he suppressed it, there was a kind of indifference in his eyes. There was nothing to be done; even though he suppressed and sealed all those memories and the despair in his soul, Shun was already affected by those feelings. Although the current Shun didn't possess all the memories of the lives lived by the three beings, he already possessed the consciousness, pride, and indifference of the strongest.

But this wasn't so bad; Shun's current appearance was beyond words. When he came to this world, Shun was a handsome young man with a completely incomprehensible and slightly lazy demeanor; after the fusion of souls, his body and soul had completely transformed, acquiring the physicality of transcendence; the current Shun, in addition to his already transcendent appearance, had gained an indifferent temperament—you could think of it as icing on the cake.

Meanwhile, Shun had begun to observe the world around him from the highest point of the castle. At that moment, he felt a sense of excitement; at least, the feelings he had when he was born into this world were still present, only with an added sense of indifference.

He was thinking about what to do now, perhaps he could go find his mother. Although he wasn't particularly curious, he was somewhat intrigued: who was his mother? Why had she gone to another world with his father? After all, time is infinite; let's do everything slowly.

Thinking this, Shun reverted to his old self, his sleepy eyes half-closed, returning to his lazy state. He didn't even want to walk anymore, so with a slight movement of thought, his feet began to glide gently, and he slowly floated about 10 cm above the ground. He decided that from now on, he would 'walk' like this.

Meanwhile, since his birth, Shun had astonished many powerful beings in the universe, even in existence, but that's a story for later.

.......

Shun slowly glided towards the room where he and Sily were staying. Upon entering the room, he noticed Sily staring blankly at the ceiling. He realized what had happened in a split second, and immediately a ripple occurred within his body, spreading throughout the universe. At that moment, Sily's empty eyes slowly returned to reality, and she threw herself into Shun's arms, filled with fear and tears.

"I was so scared, Shun, I was so scared! For a moment I thought you had left me and gone away, and I was so terrified!" "I didn't know what to do, I just wanted to die..."

Tears streamed down her face like a river, and she sobbed uncontrollably. Shun couldn't help but feel guilty seeing Sily like this. After all, it was his own state of mind that had caused Sily to have these negative thoughts.

He gently stroked her head and said softly, "Don't worry, I'll never leave you. Don't be afraid, as long as you're with me, you don't need to fear anything..." Just a few words brought endless authority and warmth to Sily, and the tears in her eyes began to flow even faster, but this time they were tears of joy.

She buried her head in Shun's chest, muttering 'hm' in agreement, but she had no intention of letting go.

Shun smiled at this and slowly hugged her, stroking her hair...

Sily felt so comfortable, so much so that she would have preferred to stay like this forever...
