Cherreads

Chapter 45 - CHAPTER 45

Ahahahaha… then it seems I have quite the connection with your Nostrade Family."

Rimo squatted down, patting the fat man on the shoulder as he laughed loudly, his tone light but carrying an unspoken pressure.

"So, Captain what do you think? Let him go… or…?"

Rimo glanced sideways at Chrollo Lucilfer, a playful smile tugging at his lips.

The fat man immediately widened his already small eyes as much as possible, staring at Chrollo with desperate pleading.

For a moment, Chrollo looked slightly disgusted.

That greasy face… those tearful eyes…

He waved his hand casually.

"Forget it, let him "

"No… you can't let him go!"

A weak but firm female voice suddenly cut him off.

Everyone turned toward the source.

The hidden door behind them slowly creaked open.

A blonde girl, bruised all over and barely covered by a torn sheet, leaned weakly against the frame.

Her body trembled.

But her eyes

Were filled with hatred so intense it felt almost tangible.

She staggered forward step by step, completely ignoring the blood-soaked figures of the Phantom Troupe, her gaze locked only on the fat man.

A dark, resentful aura seeped from her presence almost like a crude, unconscious imitation of Nen driven purely by emotion.

"This trash… this disgusting, perverted bastard…"

Her voice trembled, yet every word was sharp.

"I don't care if you're demons or gods… please… don't let him go."

Tears streamed down her face, but she didn't even bother to wipe them.

The fat man's expression twisted instantly.

"Damn it…!"

He cursed inwardly.

He had rushed out earlier without even locking the door, thinking it was just some minor disturbance caused by fools.

He hadn't even had time to get dressed properly.

And now

This woman had escaped.

Worse

She was ruining everything at the most critical moment.

Chrollo had almost let him go.

Almost.

The fragile composure he had been maintaining shattered.

"You bitch! Who told you to come out and ruin things?! You want to die?!"

Fueled by panic and rage, the fat man suddenly tried to stand.

"Zheng !"

A cold flash cut through the air.

His right leg flew upward.

Blood sprayed.

"Hey… who said you could stand?"

Nobunaga Hazama sheathed his sword slowly, his expression indifferent.

"Aaaaahhhh!! My leg!! My leg!!"

The pain hit a second later.

The fat man collapsed, clutching the severed stump, rolling on the ground and screaming hysterically.

The girl stared at him

Then burst into laughter.

"Hahahahaha!! You deserve it! A scum like you deserves worse than this!"

Even without knowing the full story, the scene was enough.

The cruelty.

The abuse.

The despair.

It was all written clearly on her body.

Machi and Pakunoda both narrowed their eyes, killing intent leaking out unconsciously.

As for Rimo

There were only two types of people he hated the most.

Human traffickers.

And people like this.

"Whoosh whoosh !"

Two throwing knives appeared in his hand.

With a flick of his wrist

They shot out instantly, piercing through the fat man's palms and pinning them firmly to the ground.

"Aaaahhhh!!"

More screams.

Rimo stepped forward calmly, grabbing the girl's trembling hand.

A sharp dagger materialized in his palm and was placed into hers.

"It seems you have your own grievances with him."

His tone softened slightly.

"We're done with him."

"The rest… is yours."

The girl stared blankly at the dagger, as if unable to process what had just happened.

Rimo turned away without another word.

"Leader. Let's go. Time to handle the next matter."

He stepped out.

Machi followed immediately, a faint smile at the corner of her lips.

The others moved after them.

Only then did the girl snap back to reality.

She turned toward their retreating figures and bowed deeply.

"Thank you…! Thank you so much…!"

Her voice broke.

After they disappeared

She slowly raised her head.

Her eyes

Were no longer filled with tears.

Only pure, burning hatred remained.

With a scream, she rushed toward the immobilized fat man.

"What are you doing?! Don't forget who I am! I'm from the Nostrade Family! If you touch me your family your friends !"

His threats quickly turned into desperate pleas.

"I was wrong! I was really wrong! Don't AAAAAHHH !!"

...

By the time anyone came again

There was nothing left that resembled a human being.

And the girl…

Had taken her own life, a peaceful expression on her face.

The scene was horrifying.

And yet

Strangely quiet.

Almost… beautiful in its own tragic way.

Outside the bar, the street was already empty.

Not because it was late

But because of the two headless corpses at the entrance and the blood covering the ground.

Anyone with sense knew what had happened.

And in a place like this, people understood one rule very clearly:

If you want to live

Stay away from trouble.

Eventually, officials would come clean things up, and everything would return to normal.

As if nothing had ever happened.

After returning to the vehicle, Rimo sat back in the driver's seat.

"Alright… next stop Chencora Point, Villa 21 "

He suddenly froze.

A terrible realization hit him.

"…Wait."

Silence.

"We know the place…"

"But does anyone here actually know how to get there?"

"..."

Everyone exchanged looks.

Only now did it sink in.

They had the destination

But no directions.

"…Damn it."

Rimo rubbed his forehead.

"Does anyone know the way?"

No response.

Should they go back and ask the girl?

…Not exactly an option anymore.

Machi sighed, pressing her fingers against her temple.

"A bunch of idiots…"

Then she casually pulled out a folded map.

"Here."

"A tourist map of Cambie Town. It marks Chencora Point."

Rimo's eyes lit up.

"Oh! Machi, you're a lifesaver. Where did you even get this?"

"While you were making a mess in there," she replied calmly, "I took it from the bar. Thought it might be useful."

Rimo was speechless for a moment.

As expected of Machi.

Her instincts were terrifyingly reliable.

"Alright then "

"Let's move."

"Vroom !!"

The engine roared to life.

With the route set, Rimo slammed the accelerator.

The vehicle shot forward into the night.

It had been a long day.

And finally

It was time to move toward the next stage.
