Chapter 45 - Chapter 45: Rise of the Elite Bone Legion.

The valley of the 23rd Floor stood silent once again.

Dust drifted across the battlefield carrying the faint echoes of war horns that had faded moments earlier.

Thousands of goblin corpses covered the ground.

All you could see the broken weapons, split armour, severed banners.

All this because Kael killed the goblins multiple times

At the center of it all stood Kael.

His sword hung loosely in his hand.

Behind him the Bone Legion stood in formation. Skeleton soldiers holding spears and shields. Rows of silent warriors made entirely of bone.

And yet still there was no floor clear message.

There was only silence.

Kael exhaled slowly.

"So… again."

Beside him, Shen Yao folded his arms with an amused expression.

"You already know the answer."

Kael nodded.

Yes, he understood now.

Even though the skeleton army had fought, even though they had participated. The truth was obvious.

Kael had still carried most of the battle.

The skeleton soldiers followed commands. They moved in formation. They attacked when ordered. But they lacked something essential.

Which was experience in battle, war instinct, real combat understanding.

The Bone Legion still moved like students practicing drills not like warriors surviving a battlefield.

Captain Roderic walked toward Kael.

His armoured boots stepped over the corpses of goblins as he approached.

"My lord."

Kael turned to him.

"What do you think?"

Roderic looked across the battlefield.

The skeleton soldiers. The fallen goblins. The broken terrain.

Then he spoke calmly.

"The Skeletons they do have discipline after the training and they have structure. But they do not yet have war experience."

Kael nodded.

"That's exactly it."

Roderic continued.

"A soldier becomes real only after surviving battle, Training creates form but war creates instinct."

Kael looked at the distant hills where the goblin army would appear again.

Then he smiled slightly.

"Then we keep fighting."

Shen Yao grinned.

"That's the spirit."

The goblin army returned again. The Tower recreated them exactly the same.

Thousands of goblins marching across the valley. Hobgoblin warlords leading the charge.

The war horns echoed once more.

But this time Kael didn't step forward alone.

He raised his sword.

His voice spread across the battlefield.

"Bone Legion!"

Thousands of skeleton heads turned toward him.

Their hollow eye sockets stared forward.

"Formation One."

Immediately the army moved.

Shields locked together. Spearmen formed two lines behind them.

Archers created from Kael's drawn weapons took positions in the rear.

The Bone Legion advanced.

The goblin army roared and charged.

The battlefield exploded into chaos.

The skeleton soldiers clashed with goblins.

Bone swords met crude axes. Spears pierced green flesh. Shields blocked incoming attacks.

But war was never perfect.

Many skeletons were shattered. Arms broke. Skulls cracked. Entire soldiers collapsed into piles of bones.

Yet something new was happening.

The skeletons kept fighting. They adjusted their movements. They reacted to enemy attacks and they adapted.

Kael watched carefully. He only intervened occasionally.

A dangerous hobgoblin commander appeared near the flank.

Kael drew a thin glowing line. The hobgoblin split in half instantly.

But he did not wipe out entire armies like before.

He allowed the skeletons to fight they need to struggle only by then they will learn.

The battle lasted nearly an hour.

Eventually the goblin army was defeated.

The Bone Legion stood victorious.

But once again

The system remained silent.

There was no clear message.

Kael simply nodded.

"Again."

The cycle continued. Kael could just get enough of this and move onto the next floor but he during this journey in the tower what he learned was that he hates to lose.

So, Kael and the bone legion army fought again.

And again.

And again.

Each time the goblin army returned.

Each time the Bone Legion fought.

And with every battle they improved.

The skeleton soldiers began to move faster. Their formations tightened. Their reactions sharpened.

Spearmen learned how to hold enemy charges. Shield soldiers learned to protect their flanks. Archers improved their aim.

Even their battlefield awareness grew.

What started as a clumsy pile of bones slowly became something different. Something organized. Something dangerous.

Kael also changed.

At first, he gave simple commands like basic formations, Simple attack signals.

But under Captain Roderic's guidance Kael began learning true battlefield strategy.

The positioning, terrain usage, flank control, supply flow, morale management.

Every battle became a lesson. Every defeat within a skirmish became an opportunity.

Kael started noticing patterns. Enemy behavior. Goblin movement habits. Weaknesses in their war structure.

Roderic would occasionally step beside him and quietly explain.

"See the left flank?"

"The goblins push harder there."

"They lack discipline in their rear ranks."

"Force them to overextend."

Kael listened. He adapted. He improved.

Soon he wasn't just a powerful warrior. He was becoming a true commander.

After many repeated battles something remarkable happened.

The skeleton soldiers themselves began showing clear improvement. They started repairing broken allies. Reassembling fallen comrades during breaks between battles. They began responding to commands instantly.

Even without Kael speaking.

A simple hand gesture was enough.

Roderic observed them carefully.

Then he spoke.

"My lord."

Kael looked at him.

"They are no longer trainees. They are becoming soldiers."

Kael watched the skeleton army standing in formation.

Their weapons were no longer randomly held. Their stances were stable. Their shields aligned perfectly.

For a brief moment they looked like a real army.

Kael smiled.

"Then let's finish this."

The goblin army appeared again.

But this time the battlefield atmosphere felt different.

Even the goblins seemed uneasy.

The Bone Legion stood in perfect formation.

Thousands of skeleton warriors waiting calmly.

Kael raised his sword.

His voice carried across the valley. Kael was saying this to the 100th time or more he lost the count.

"Bone Legion."

The skeleton soldiers raised their weapons.

"Advance."

The army moved forward like a single organism.

Shields forming a wall. Spears moving like rows of spikes. Archers firing coordinated volleys.

The goblins charged. But their attacks were stopped instantly.

The shield wall held firm.

Spears pierced through the goblin front lines. Archers rained weapons down from the rear.

Hobgoblin warlords tried breaking through the formation.

Kael stepped forward and intercepted them.

But this time

He didn't annihilate them instantly. He fought alongside the army.

Allowing the skeleton soldiers to support him.

Spears stabbed from behind him. Shields blocked incoming strikes.

The Bone Legion fought as a unit.

The battle grew intense.

The goblin army tried flanking attacks.

Kael responded instantly.

"Second formation!"

The skeleton army shifted positions smoothly.

Roderic watched quietly from the rear.

A proud smile appeared on his face by seeing lord on how he is commanding the army.

"He's learned."

The war raged for nearly two hours.

Bone fragments scattered across the battlefield.

Goblin bodies piled high. But the Bone Legion did not break.

They held the line. They pushed forward.

And eventually the goblin army collapsed.

The final hobgoblin warlord roared and charged toward Kael.

Kael stepped forward.

Their weapons collided.

After a brief clash Kael cut the warlord down.

The battlefield finally fell silent.

For several seconds nothing happened.

Then a brilliant light appeared across the sky.

[Floor Cleared]

A massive system message filled the entire battlefield.

[23rd Floor Cleared]

[Victory Condition Achieved: Successful leadership of army and battlefield domination]

A second message followed immediately.

[Army Evolution Detected]

[Bone Legion → Elite Bone Legion]

The skeleton army suddenly began glowing. A deep blue energy spread across every soldier.

Their bones hardened. Their weapons transformed.

Rusty blades became sharp black swords. Cracked shields became reinforced bone shields.

Even their posture changed.

They now stood taller, stronger and more disciplined.

The transformation was completed.

[Elite Bone Legion

Rank: Elite Undead Army

Loyalty: Absolute to Commander Kael.

Combat Capability: Significantly Increased.]

Kael looked across the battlefield.

The skeleton soldiers knelt simultaneously. Thousands of warriors lowering themselves before him.

A silent army acknowledging their commander.

Kael lowered his sword slowly.

For the first time in the Tower, he had not won through personal strength alone, he had won through leadership.

Shen Yao floated beside him.

His eyes gleamed with approval.

"Well done my disciple."

Kael glanced at him.

"That was harder than killing a boss monster."

Shen Yao laughed.

"Of course it was, anyone can swing a sword but ruling an army that's the beginning of becoming a king."

Behind them Captain Roderic approached.

He knelt respectfully.

"My lord congratulations you have passed the trial."

Kael nodded slowly "All this wouldn't happen without your help Captain Roderic, Thank you very much".

He looked toward the distant staircase leading to the 24th floor.

The Tower had given him a new kind of power. Not only just strength.

But command.

And as the Elite Bone Legion stood behind him in perfect formation.

Kael finally realized something important.

The Tower was not simply turning him into a powerful climber. It was shaping him into something far greater.

Something that could rule battlefields.

Something that could command armies.

Something worthy of becoming an Emperor.
