Melissa Ashford stood in Rowan's office's doorway, perfectly dressed in a designer outfit, with a warm, almost too pleasant smile on her face.
"Melissa?" Rowan called out the name slowly as if to say he couldn't believe his eyes.
"What are you doing here?" He asked after recovering from the surprise, his tone sharpening.
"I came to see you, of course," Melissa said, stepping inside and closing the door behind her.
"Riley!" Rowan called out sharply. He was going to ask her why she would allow a visitor into his office without informing him first.
"Your secretary? She couldn't stop me when I told her I'm your fiancee." Melissa said in a meek voice, rolling her eyes and pouting, acting cute.
Rowan's jaw tightened, clearly not impressed by the meek voice nor the pouting.
"I don't recall scheduling a meeting with you." He stated firmly.
"Oh, I know," Melissa said, her smile never wavering. "But I thought I'd surprise you."
