Chapter 77 - Chapter 77

Chapter 77 Defeat of Crimson!   Boom!

The explosion sent shockwaves flying, and a powerful gust of wind swept through the entire backyard of the Pokémon Center.

The trainers around were all drawn by the cloud of dust.

They had never seen such terrifying power in all the matches they had fought.

The dust continued to billow, covering the entire field, and no one knew what had happened inside.

  The dust slowly dissipated.

Charizard stood firm, arcs of electricity flashing on its wings. Its smile vanished abruptly, its face turning solemn as if it had sensed something. When the dust completely cleared, Swampert appeared before everyone.

  "Roar~"

Swampert let out a low growl, standing amidst the dust, its right fist crackling with electricity.

  Electric-type Thunder Punch.

"So strong... even under those conditions, Swampert could still use Thunder Punch at the last moment."

Gary had seen it clearly; that scene was deeply etched in his mind.

As the dragon swooped down at that angle, Swampert rose and unleashed Thunder Punch, striking the dragon's phantom directly at its vital point.

  "That Swampert is truly powerful."

Shinji's heart was also significantly affected. To unleash such an offensive under such circumstances was something few of the trainers Shinji had encountered before could achieve.

  On the field.

  "Swampert, Surf!"

In the previous exchange, Swampert had gained a slight advantage using Thunder Punch.

Bai Yu wouldn't let go of this hard-won advantage, and Swampert charged forward fiercely.

The field was covered with rocks, and Swampert used them to constantly change its position. Charizard didn't flap its wings to fly into the sky, its eyes constantly scanning ahead, trying to find Swampert's figure.

  "Charizard, take to the sky!"

Charizard, enduring the pain in its wings, flapped its wings and soared into the sky, seizing air superiority. The rocks couldn't stop the Charizard moving through the air, and it quickly spotted Swampert.

"Aim at those rocks, blast them!"

  Air superiority?!

In such a confined space, is there really any such thing as air superiority?

Swampert slammed its fist into the rocks ahead, water gushing through them with an explosion, sending countless rocks flying into the air.

Charizard flapped its wings, constantly dodging the rocks flying towards it.

  "Dragon Claw, crush them!"

Charizard's claws emitted a dark green light, and a phantom claw gathered in its palms. It then flapped its wings and charged forward.

Small rocks were torn apart head-on by Charizard, turning into dust and falling away bit by bit.

  "Hydro Cannon!"

Boom!   Swampert, which had been waiting below, opened its massive maw and unleashed a jet of water that struck Charizard's body, which had just passed through the rocks.

Charizard let out a painful growl, losing its balance and falling from the air.

Being hit head-on by a Hydro Cannon in this state

  was undoubtedly fatal.

"Using those rocks as cover... more rocks..."

Shigeru's expression changed slightly; he had seen this fighting style from Shiraha more than once.

He always managed to turn seemingly useless moves into winning opportunities,

unleashing extraordinary power at crucial moments.

"Charizard, dive down and use Seismic Throw!" Countless thoughts flashed through Crimson's mind, finally settling on Seismic Throw in that instant.

  "Delusion."

  "Hammer Arm!"

Charizard, plummeting through the air, used the powerful force of its dive, its wings flapping incessantly to maintain its balance—this was Charizard's last chance to attack.

In this state, whether unleashing a Megaton Punch or any other move, it would be difficult to inflict significant damage on Swampert. The only thing that could change the situation was Seismic Throw.

  This was Crimson's answer.

  A Fighting-type Seismic Throw.

The heavier the opponent, the stronger the attack.

Swampert on the ground gathered a vortex of air in its right fist, repelling the surrounding air, and then unleashed it into the air.

  A Fighting-type Hammer Arm.

Concentrating all its power into its arm, it unleashed astonishing power, slightly reducing its speed.

Boom!   The Hammer Arm collided violently with the Seismic Throw, the strong wind constantly blowing away the surrounding smoke. Charizard reached out and grabbed Swampert's body, while Swampert's right fist slammed into Charizard's face.

"So strong... Who are these two trainers?"

"What is that Pokémon? Why can't I find any information about it in my Pokédex?"      "Terrifying damage! A single move could have instantly killed my Pokémon."

More and more trainers gathered around, gasping in amazement. They

had never seen a battle this intense.

Such a battle was rare even at the Indigo League.

Such a spectacular match was seldom seen in the Pokédex.

  "The outcome is decided."

  Bai Yu smiled faintly.

The frequency of Charizard's wing flapping decreased significantly; the previous Hammer Arm attack had caused more damage than expected, and Charizard's Seismic Throw had failed.

Charizard plummeted from the sky, crashing heavily to the ground, its eyes glazed and unable to battle.

  "Come back, Charizard."

Red had only one Pokémon left, a paralyzed Lapras.

Bai Yu's Swampert was in good condition, and he had one more Pokémon remaining.

The odds of winning were extremely slim.

Red ultimately chose to release the paralyzed Lapras to fight.

For Red, the rest of the battle would be a struggle; an ordinary trainer would have already given up.

Red's willpower far surpassed that of any trainer he had encountered before.

Even with only a 10% chance of winning, he still believed in his Pokémon.

"Red, he still lost..." Gary's heart was filled with complex emotions.

In Gary's mind, Red was the strongest trainer he had ever seen.

Even he had lost, which affected Gary's heart. Gary's intense competitive spirit wavered at this moment. Could he really win against such an opponent?   "That Charizard was very strong. That Dragon Dive..."

Shinji also brought himself into the battle.

If he had been the one commanding just now, would his Pokémon have made the right decision, found the opening, and unleashed Thunder Punch, just like that Swampert, when faced with such a powerful Dragon Dive?

That Thunder Punch in that instant affected Charizard's subsequent offensive state

and became the key move that determined the outcome.

"Well done, Swampert. I'll buy you some food later. Have a good meal tonight."

Bai Yu reached out and patted Swampert's huge body.

  "Roar~"

Swampert let out a joyful roar.

In reality, this was Swampert's first battle where it went all out.

Meeting such an opponent was a stroke of luck for Swampert.

There was a significant difference between the game and reality.

  "You did very well, Lapras."

Crimson stepped forward, reaching out to stroke Lapras's wound.

  He had lost.

This was the taste of defeat?

  It was bitter enough.

"Crimson, with your strength, you absolutely can take this badge."

White Feather took out the Macha Gym Badge from his pocket.

Crimson's previous performance showed that he could win against any Gym.

Unless he faced a fully-fledged Giovanni, no Gym in the Kanto Region could stop Crimson's march towards the Indigo League.

  "A loss is a loss."

"The loser doesn't deserve a badge."

"Next time, I'll take that Gym Badge from you in my own way."

Crimson slowly shook his head; he still refused the badge White Feather offered.

In this match, Crimson had given it his all.

Even if he ultimately chooses Venusaur,

the outcome of this match is still uncertain...

I'm

a bit busy today, but I'll still post the third update, so don't worry.
