Synopsis
If you were given a chance at another life, one where you would be provided a “cheat”, would you accept? Most others would, but Aldrin? He wants none of that. He had already lived a relatively good life, not a millionaire who got all he wanted. He had to work and struggle to get what he wanted. But instead of being greedy for more, being lustful of beauty, he was instead more concerned with getting rest. “What’s the value of pleasures if I need to toil for it?” He was satisfied with getting a good night's sleep and doing nothing. Gaming? He’s done that already. Anime? Stopped being interesting, everything is just about the next weird isekai or that weird harem MC who can’t decide which girl to pick. Sitcoms? Became boring after the rise of extreme liberalism, everything is all about feelings and avoiding anyone getting offended, comedy was not as good and drama was just about the next unknown mental disorder the characters need to deal with. There was nothing in the world he had not already tried and nothing new that was worthwhile to “work hard for”. This mindset is what led to the current situation- “Whether you like it or not, you will get reincarnated” “Fuck” “But out of compassion the great lord Belphegor has provided you a system” “Great just what I needed, an external force to push me into doing things” “Oh, you will like what he gave you~” Such was the conversation he had with the destructively beautiful “outer deity” who saved him from the pain of burning alive but had thrust him into another painfully annoying life- “Aldrin!” Seeing the worried face of a beautiful woman crying as doctors and nurses held her back, Aldrin knew that he was in another world. After all- ‘I don’t fucking know who that woman is and… why does she have a tail… no- nine tails?’ This is the story of a man consumed by sloth and boredom, forced to live another life.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Living life on easy mode~

[Do you wish to Skip the schoolday?]

Aldrin woke up to an interesting prompt from the system which had just recently "activated" itself.

To be fair, Aldrin had already lived in this world for a month and despite all the fantastical things he experienced, to him, the greatest thing he could ever get is a good night's sleep.

'I was reincarnated forcefully and now I need to relieve my life, fuck being reborn as a kitsune… I can't even get mad since I don't have the energy to think…'

Aldrin used to live as a regular man on Earth, he worked hard and desperately tried to keep up until he realized that the game was rigged from the start.

He was never envious of the kids who got all they wanted, nor did he care about how some people were able to spend their weekends travelling the world while digging his pocket for his last penny.

No, he didn't really care about that, what he really cared about was living.

Living in itself is expensive, just breathing gets taxed and not paying it would lead you to being a homeless drifter.

It wasn't something Aldrin was particularly bothered by but he prefers to sleep without worrying about getting his ass pumped full of diseases or getting stabbed.

Yet, by just living, even if he was in a rural place, he still had to work desperately.

It wasn't about being lazy, it was about the fact that he had to struggle just to breathe, not even staying afloat, breathing itself was a struggle and so he'd rather drown.

But lo and behold, some mysterious deity decided that his time was not enough so he shoved him into the body of a kid in a parallel earth.

The nation was Japan but instead of Japanese, the nation was home to Foxmen and all other nations followed the same kind of theme. One country, one race but-

Globalization, much like on Earth, had hit this one hard.

People started to immigrate, emigrate, escape and seek refuge, the whole shabang!

Now, instead of "unwarranted racism" this world had actual racism. Someone from this world's India, a nation that is predominantly occupied by three tribes, Elephantmen, Tigermen and Bullmen, would be heavily racist against someone from the Gorilla tribe of this world's Africa.

Hell, even within the same nation, people would still be racist against each other!

In fact, even within the same race, people would still discriminate and that is not something anyone could fight or call out.

This was the biggest difference between this world and Earth, unlike Earth where everyone was human, this world was one where everyone was a certain type of beastman.

Aldrin had initially found it quite interesting, even exciting until he witnessed this worlds boring nature for himself.

He was reincarnated as a teen, a high school student who tried to meet God but was rescued in time. To give him a second chance at life.

Interestingly, he was supposed to be brain dead but… well the original Aldrin is probably already partying with Jesus but the current Aldrin? He was forced to live a second life of an even worse childhood.

Though, the only saving good thing was the fact that he was not an orphan, the last thing he wanted was to have no parents and be forced to find a way to survive as a teen.

The bad thing, he was reborn in a single mother household, his mother, a white haired foxman, was a beauty who is NOT in the entertainment industry but is a top level manager at an investment firm.

They were not wealthy but they did get by without needing to worry about what to eat the next day.

Unfortunately, he had no father and his mom won't really explain to him why.

Hell, his initial diagnosis of brain death easily explained why he had no memories of his past. The doctors basically claimed weird brain mechanics as the reason since he "should be" brain dead but huzzah! He was alive!

The whole hospital went crazy and the media even covered the whole thing but it was ultimately called an instrument error, at least that's what they said to the media and claimed that Aldrin had amnesia as a result of his attempt at meeting God.

As great of an excuse as it was to give Aldrin the go ahead to have a reasonable explanation of his past from his mother, the result was not as great as he thought.

His mother had explained that his father was a topic that he need not know and that his attempt at meeting God was apparently to complain about some things happening at school.

To ensure that it doesn't happen again, Aldrin was enrolled in a different school and now he was forced to live his life again…

That was until his cheat awakened.

"I'm skipping again today~"

Aldrin said as he accepted the prompt, his vision turned black and he fell back to sleep.

His cheat was a system and its functions were surprisingly simple, all it did was allow Aldrin to skip "unimportant events", this means that things like going to school, sitting in class, hell even eating could be skipped up to the next special event or to a certain point.

Aldrin had set the point to be "bed time", in other words, he wakes up, skips the day and sleeps again.

He wouldn't need to worry about food as he would have already eaten and he didn't need to worry about anything else as it had already been done.

Unfortunately, this system was still had some caveats-

"Aldrin! I asked you a question!"

Aldrin woke up and instead of his bedroom at night, he was now sitting across from his mother who was staring daggers at him.

"Uhm… what was the question?"

"I asked you if you made any friends!"

"Uh… no?"

"..."

Their exchange ended with his mother staring at him before letting out a sigh.

"I told you, make some friends, the reason you got bullied last time was because no one was there to help you! Bullies go after the kids who have no ability to fight back and a kid with no friends is a prime target since no one would defend them or help them out and they could easily single them out!"

Aldrin silently listened to his mothers words, he could tell that she was paying particular attention to his school life this time.

Well, after what happened with the previous Aldrin, it's to be expected.

Aldrin, despite being born as a foxman, had black hair.

Even his tails were black and an unfortunate thing about color was that black foxes were believed to be harbingers of misfortune.

Culturally, those born with white hair were believed to be lucky, red and brown were the regular colors and black was the unlucky shade.

Though it's all just superstition at this point as research had proved that it was something closer to genetics than it was supernatural forces but the belief still remains.

The previous Aldrin knocked on God's office because he was probably going to complain about his classmates whose bullying had gotten quite extreme but the current Aldrin couldn't really care less.

He didn't experience it anyway and his skipping system allowed him to accomplish a lot of things without doing any of the work.

Unfortunately, the skip did not work like games where things go from scene x to scene y without anything happening.

Aldrin had noted that all the things he should be doing were still being done by his body during the skipped time.

He found out after leaving his phone on record before skipping and he found his body going about life like usual but without interacting with anyone.

Only when he was awakened would he interact with others but aside from that, he was living his life as the silent kid.

A great thing about the system though is that it could make his body respond to things like a teacher asking him a question or some simple interactions that did not need much deep conversations.

One other function of the skip, unlike those in visual novels, was that Aldrin could set certain conditions for skipping. Basically what kind of actions his body would take and he tried to make his body "act kinder" and it did things like helping an old lady cross the road and picking up trash.

Because of this setting, Aldrin had gotten a gym membership and set his body to workout and study seriously.

This allowed him to wake up feeling spent, his body would be aching and his head would be tired as all hell but he could tell that he knew a lot more things instinctively.

Though, he still had to wake up and deal with interactions like those with his mother.

"Did you get that?"

"Yeah… I'll try to make friends and avoid getting bullied again-"

"Good-"

"BUT! Only if I find a person who is actually good and not just setting me up for some stupid prank or getting me into trouble"

"..."
