The door to the sickroom swung open. A bitter smile spread across Ronan Jenkins's pale face, as if to say, 'I'm back!'
Sean Murphy froze. He was so completely overwhelmed with joy, he was at a loss for words.
He shot up and ran to Ronan Jenkins, who was leaning against the door, and threw his arms around him. "Ronan, you're finally awake!" He was smiling, but his eyes unexpectedly welled up with tears.
Ronan Jenkins's hands hovered awkwardly in the air, unsure of what to do. After a long moment, he let them fall to his sides, simply letting Sean Murphy hold him and recount the events of the past few days.
A moment later, Kenneth Yates and Dominic Thorne hurried downstairs. Seeing Ronan Jenkins awake, they both breathed a sigh of relief.
Felix Locke served dinner, and naturally, Wendy Vaughn stayed to eat with them.
