His eyes were calm as he raised his voice slightly. "I already know about this. Get in the car. I need to talk to you."
She stood frozen. Quentin Grant got out, forcibly pulled her into the passenger seat, and then drove away.
"If you want to break off your engagement with Leon Lynch, I can help you."
She let out a cold laugh. "And after I break up with him, what? I become your woman?"
He actually curved his lips into a faint smile. "Not bad. So you are self-aware."
Nora Ainsworth was furious. His moods were so unpredictable; she found him impossible to figure out.
She decided not to say any more and stared straight ahead. "I want to go home."
He, however, was nonchalant. "Fine. I'll take you home."
"There's something I don't understand. Why was it your car last night, but everyone thought it was Herman Hawthorne's?"
