Clara Grant frowned. Faye Jennings knew perfectly well about her relationship with Seth Quinn. The last time Faye had joked about it was one thing; after all, it had just been the two of them.
'But now, she's saying I like Miles Quinn in front of someone else. Even if she's trying to pretend she doesn't know about my relationship with Seth in front of an outsider, she could have just said nothing. That would be far better than spouting these misleading words.'
'What if—just what if—one day, my marriage to Seth is exposed? And what if, while married to the older brother, I'm accused of having a crush on the younger one? If that rumor gets out, how could I ever prove my innocence? How could Seth ever save face?'
Just as Clara Grant was about to deny it, Sandra added scornfully, "Hmph, of course she likes him. She likes any man she can get!"
Clara Grant's expression turned cold. Faye Jennings quickly chided Sandra, "Sandra, what nonsense are you talking about!"
