Chapter 22 - Season 3 – Chapter 2: Leviathan Spawn

Season 3 – Chapter 2: Leviathan Spawn

The city groaned under the weight of chaos. Smoke and fire twisted through the streets, mingling with the screams of the fleeing. Gates still hovered in the sky, crimson energy crackling, releasing more monstrosities into the already fractured urban landscape.

Kai moved like a shadow among the wreckage. His parasite tendrils flickered, coiling around him like living extensions of his intent. Eyes glowing amber, he surveyed the approaching Leviathan—a massive beast, four meters tall, scales black as night, eyes burning with predatory intelligence. It tore through vehicles with ease, its roar shaking the very foundations of the city.

Kai's fingers twitched. Sparks leapt along the veins of his arms. The machines surrounding him responded instantly. Drones rose from rubble, streetlights bent toward him like obedient sentinels, and overturned cars shifted, engines roaring. He reached out, and for the first time consciously, he willed them into motion.

The Leviathan lunged. Kai moved faster than the eye could follow, tendrils merging with the twisted metal of cars and lamp posts. One strike, a spinning car slamming into the monster's flank, elicited a guttural roar. Another tendril, sharp as a blade, pierced its shoulder. Drones fired synchronized laser volleys, each shot timed perfectly to exploit weak points highlighted by Kai's parasite-enhanced vision.

It was chaos perfected—biological and mechanical power fused. And Kai felt the surge. Each attack, each dodge, each kill infused him with raw energy. Reflexes sharpened, tendrils became faster, sharper, almost alive in their own right. The city itself seemed to bend around him, machinery obeying his subconscious will.

The Leviathan roared again, furious. Its tail smashed a streetlight toward him. Kai didn't flinch. Tendrils lashed out, redirecting the pole like a whip, impaling the monster through the leg. Sparks flew as bio-mechanical energy surged through the metal and flesh. Mechanic Manipulation was leveling up.

He could feel new potential coursing through his veins. He wasn't just controlling machines—he could enhance them, merge them with parasite energy, turn even mundane rubble into lethal weapons. The fight became a dance, each movement a fusion of strategy, instinct, and raw power.

The Leviathan faltered. With a final sequence of spinning drones, slammed vehicles, and whip-like tendrils, Kai impaled it through the chest. The creature collapsed, smoke rising from its mangled body as Kai landed lightly on the asphalt, breathing evenly.

Around him, the city hummed, quiet for a fleeting moment, acknowledging its new master. He flexed his hands, sparks dying slowly along his veins, eyes scanning the horizon. Gates were still opening. Monsters were still pouring in. And Kai's power had grown again—parasite, predator, and now mechanical overlord of this urban apocalypse.

He stepped forward into the chaos, tendrils coiling behind him like living shadows, a smirk playing across his face. The world was falling apart, but he was ready.

"Level up… again."
