Nora's POV
My fingers tap restlessly against the cool kitchen counter as I weigh my options.
"What's going through your mind?" James asks, stepping inside from the porch where he'd been speaking with Antonia after my friends departed.
"Trying to decide between coffee or calling it a night. Exhaustion is hitting me hard."
"Then sleep," he says, turning the lock behind him. "It's the logical choice."
"But it's still early evening. That feels ridiculously early."
"When you're tired, rest," he chuckles softly. "You may not require as much sleep as ordinary humans, but you still need it, especially lately."
"You're right," I exhale slowly. "Maybe chamomile tea instead."
"That promotes sleep, doesn't it?" I nod while reaching for the kettle. "If exhaustion is the problem, why choose something that makes you sleepier?"
