Nora's POV
James trails his fingers along my bare thigh as we lie tangled in the sheets. The aftermath of our lovemaking still has me breathless and thoroughly satisfied, though my knees ache from the carpet burns and sweat clings to my skin.
"Planning to stay in tonight?" His touch sends little shivers through me despite my exhaustion.
"Wasn't thinking of going anywhere. Why do you ask?"
"I need to handle some business." He pulls me against his chest, and I marvel at how drained I feel even though he didn't feed from me this time. The mental exhaustion feels overwhelming, like my brain is trying to process too many crisis situations at once.
The weight of everything happening presses down on me.
"What kind of business?" I trace the defined muscles of his forearm, enjoying the solid warmth of him.
