The front door swings open wide as I welcome my friends into the house with enthusiasm.
"Should you really be moving around this much?" Ophelia inquires while kicking off her shoes with practiced ease. The cheesecake balanced in her hands looks absolutely divine.
"Actually, yes. The doctor wants me walking around regularly when I'm awake," I explain to her. My modified bedrest has kept me housebound for weeks now, though it hasn't been quite the torture I anticipated. Still, I never realized how much I'd miss simple errands like restocking my cranberry juice supply.
James had to make a sunset grocery run for me, FaceTiming the entire time to confirm he grabbed the right items.
Next time I'm writing him a much more detailed shopping list, considering my vampire husband doesn't exactly understand food preferences.
"But you're taking things slow, right?" Reyna presses with concern.
