A/N: this chapter takes place during the middle of 'Clean Time'.

Looking at Inv's back, I see the huge pile of fur waiting to get cleaned by me. Once again, I see Inv's hips now from a back end view. But the most notable detail is Inv's long big tail.
'I genuinely don't know why I find myself so attracted to his tail… but damn…'
Compared to my tail, Inv's is a lot longer and a bit wider.
Looking behind me, I look down at my tail which is also wide. But compared to Inv's it just seems much smaller…

'Did I hit the jackpot? I hope Inv doesn't mind how small I am compared to him…'
So far Inv hasn't said anything that would show this, but the uncertainty is definitely there…
At this point the quietness of not hearing Inv's voice is getting to me. Left alone like this only to think to myself is just spawning more and more negative thoughts…

'I should focus on the now. That now being cleaning Inv's fur'
Focusing back on what I was doing before, I carefully climb onto Inv's back. Making sure that me crawling on his back while he's laying down doesn't seem uncomfortable to him in his sleep, I feel relieved. At least there's one benefit of being smaller than Inv.
With slightly better positive thoughts I begin cleaning the fur on the back of Inv's head. The same plan for what I did on Inv's front side. Starting from the top and going down.

With the fur on the back of Inv's head and neck complete I move onto Inv's back. This part however is taking much longer than I would have thought.
'Hey, hey! Stop tickling me dang it! I'm trying to clean you!' I try to fight back against the tingling sensation my tongue is getting while cleaning the fur on Inv's back.
Since Inv fell asleep most of Inv's fur has gone into some sort of dormant state. But the hair on Invs back is still active! Actively tickling my tongue!
I'm not sure if all the fur on Inv's back has formed a collective consciousness but I think it's trying to say it really likes me!
Also the fact it keeps trying to wrap around my paws and any other place it touches.
With effort, I'm almost done cleaning most of the fur on Inv's back. Due to the sheer volume of fur, I've had to move my position several times just to get to some of the fur.
'Ok almost done, just have to do this last spo- WOAH'
In surprise I immediately jump off of Inv's back when I feel something touch my… 'private' area.
'W-w-what the heck?? D-did it just try to…' I'm left shocked and extremely flustered at the moment. The entire time I've interacted with the fur on Inv's back. It has always covered me but never attempted to wrap around there…
I'm not sure if it's because this is the first time in my life where something has touched such a sensitive part of me… but I feel unsure what to do next…

Looking back at the fur on Inv's back, I see the fur now moving at a much slower pace. Not in a luring way but in a sort of… sad way?? I'm not sure how I can even tell, I can just probably chalk it up to going insane from years of isolation.
Seeing this I feel sort of bad for some reason? Maybe it was just a mistake?
I'm not even sure why I'm feeling bad for the fur…

'Well… I can't just back off like this midway to cleaning Inv's back…'
Calming down, I hesitantly crawl back onto Inv's back. The fur immediately reacting to my presence with a more happy demeanor.
Getting back to the spot I was trying to clean, I feel Inv's fur starting to wrap around my paws again. Thankfully this time it doesn't try to go for my… um… crotch.
I genuinely don't know what I would've done if it did…

'Ok, enough weird thoughts'
Cleaning the last bit of fur on Inv's back I'm finally done with this part.
"Look at how fluffy you are! Don't you feel much better?" I whisper to the fur on Inv's back. I'm not crazy, I swear.
Seeing the fur swaying all around me I'm not really sure what sort of response I wanted from the fur. It's not like it can respond back to me…
'I wonder how it can move like this even without Inv being awake… how strange…' I wonder to myself. Another question added on top of Inv's mysteries.
With the back done, I start crawling off of Inv's back. The fur easily parting for me. I feel relieved that the fur didn't try to do what it did earlier again… must've just been a fluke.

But a small guilty part of me… wishes it did try again…
'Ugh, I'm weird…'
Off of Inv's back, I now find myself looking at Inv's huge tail. I'm not really sure where to begin with the tail…
Putting one of my paws on Inv's tail. I trail it down to the tail tip.
'Ok… maybe I can start from here…' with a starting point, I start cleaning.

Trying my best to get all the fur on Inv's tail, I think I'm slowly starting to realize why I'm so attracted to Inv's tail.
'It's a bit embarrassing to admit, but it's sort of like… a butt??' I feel childish for even thinking of it like this, but this is the closest I can compare it to.
Since our tails take basically the entire area where our asses would be. It's kinda like the tails on a slugcat have replaced what would usually be the ass for a human…
So basically, what I'm saying is. Inv has a huge ass… which I'm currently licking…

'I'm never living this one down…'
With these embarrassing thoughts, I clean up most of Inv's tail until I reach a certain part…
'I have to get underneath the tail… but that means I would have to lift his tail up…' I think to myself, not sure if I should do it or not.
It's not like I haven't seen Inv's tail lifted before. The first cycle we met, Inv lifted his tail up for me by accident by misunderstanding something I said.

But this is different… he's not awake right now…

'I'll… just leave it for another day… it would feel wrong to do something like that while Inv is asleep, even if I only wanted to clean the area and nothing else'
Deciding to not lift Inv's tail I finish up the rest of the fur on the back of Inv's legs.
Even though I cleaned the area around Inv's pelvis area, I still feel I would be going too far trying to clean the area underneath Inv's tail. The huge difference between the both being in one spot nothing is really there while the other… is Inv's asshole… or I guess it would be a tail hole?? I really don't know…
'I still don't understand why we even have those… we don't even go to the bathroom! Which is very convenient at least…' I think about how weird our biology is. Where does all the food we eat go? Does it all completely convert into energy? Are we as a species that efficient when it comes to energy usage? Is that how every creature works in this world? Or was it just an oversight from nature?
I'm not really sure, but I definitely see no downsides to this.
Thinking of all these weird questions I finish cleaning all the fur behind Inv's legs! I'm done!
'Phew, cleaning mostly successful! My licking prowess knows no bounds!' I jokingly think to myself.
With the cleaning done I stand up and go back to Inv's side repeating the same thing I did earlier. Lifting Inv up on his side and carefully lowering him on the ground on his back.
With immense satisfaction I look down at the fully cleaned Inv, his fur even shining with a more ethereal blue than before.
'That wasn't so bad… Inv is definitely a deep sleeper. I flipped him over and he still didn't wake up. Must've been really tired…' I think as I get Inv in a more comfortable position.

'I can't wait to do that again while he's awake~'
